    I was fortunate to find your videos about a month after my diagnosis of severe UC. I started following your guide with probiotics and diet restrictions immediately and i have not had a flare up since the initial, which was 2 years ago. I also stopped taking the Lialda I was prescribed 8 months after my diagnosis. Words cannot describe my gratefulness for the information you provided. I thought my life was going to change in a negative way and it is actually better than before now that I take care of my gut microbiome.

    Kenny has good information available and I appreciate it. He is sharing what worked for him. It is possible that it may or may not work for you. Always be cautious/critical when someone is trying to sell you something. My recommendation is you have to be disciplined, mentally tough, and willing to do whatever it takes. Avoid your comfort zone, do what is necessary, confront your fears, take 100% responsibility for your health, don't blame anything or anyone for your health status, and KNOW there is a cure. Do not let complacency creep in. Every moment and every decision is a battle in this WAR for your health and quality of life. You can do it!! Don't think you can, don't believe you can, KNOW you can do it. Good luck and God bless

    Kenny, all I can say is THANK YOU. I recently had a big flare up of Ulcerative Colitis, I started passing dark blood but strangely no urgency?? It had spread to the full colon instead of proctitis.
    They put my on mesalazine and prednisolone. Before I had the colonoscopy I started drinking natural kefir like it was going out of fashion and that made my symptoms subside a little. The colonoscopy revealed moderate colitis and biopsies showed active colitis. They wanted to put me on immunosuppressive drugs but I kicked back at that and started following your diet but tailored to suit me. I make my own kefir and fermented veggies now. Also drinking blueberry and banana smoothies. Fingers crossed, the diet is working and there's some good bacteria down there. Hopefully this UC will stay away from now on following your protocol.

I was on prednisone, but I’m starting to get off of it because I wanted to try focusing on my diet before resorting to medication, but I’m worried that it’s not working for me since I still have some symptoms. but I don’t know if I’ve given it enough time yet, it’s been a few weeks.

    Hey Kenny, I don’t know if you’ll ever see this comment. But if you do, then I would like to ask what’s your take on chicken broth. Right now I’ve been drinking cabbage juice, kefir milk, fermented foods like kimchi and my diet has mainly been rice with cooked vegetables like carrot and broccoli with chicken or salmon. I also eat smoked salmon with white bread(low in finer and can handle). So far I haven’t been able to tell if I’m healing since it’s only been two weeks and I’ve been diagnosed since two years ago. But I feel I’m on the right track after removing sugar and fatty foods completely. So my question is whether you’ve ever tried chicken broth for its collagen, which I’ve heard is very useful for healing the gut lining. Thanks - Narayan.

    One thing that has generally worked for me is that I will generally eat high fat meats or eggs by itself without any plant fibers. Seems to digest better for me. If I eat potatoes or even a salad, I won't add meat or eggs to it. The only protein that I may add to a vegetable rich meal is cottage cheese, but then again I don't eat that many high fiber vegetables anymore I also seem to do well drinking Kefir by itself or with some liver or bone marrow pills before going to bed rather than with a meal. I notice I get morning boner with that formula and at age 50, that is a sign of good health. So I often get accused of being a Vegetarian or Carnivore since I separate my veggie meal from my meat meals. Also what do you think of Oxalates and your gut issues.

      Plan to retest my testosterone pretty soon- haven’t since that last video. hCG has a lot of cool benefits but it didn’t do exactly what I was hoping for. Exploring alternative options to try to increase the set point. Not entirely against TRT, but that’s a box I’m not quite ready to open. I feel good, getting stronger, but I assume I’m either still hovering in the low end normal ranges of T or slightly below. The endocrine system has so far been quite a tough nut to crack.

I just wanted to ask you something : when I drink a glass of home made kefir I feel extremely bloated and with stomach pain, instead of I only drink like a shot of kefir no problem. What can I do ? Where can I get all the probiotics that kefir has ? By the way If I drink the supermarket Kefir I don’t have any problem , I can drink as much as I want.

    • @team_honnas
      @team_honnas  Рік тому +1

      Hi Lorenzo, glad you like the videos!
      I am definitely not a doctor or dietician so please don't take this as a substitute for medical advice. That being said, it's possible that you may be experiencing what is known as the Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction. Basically, as you introduce probiotic microorganisms into your gut microbiome that competitively exclude/kill pathogenic microorganisms- the dead pathogens release toxic substances that our immune systems can react to and result in an increase in symptoms such as bloating, gas, abdominal pain, etc. If this is what is happening, one way to potentially overcome this type of reaction might be to slowly increase your consumption of kefir, if comfortably tolerated, over a period of time. For instance, if you can comfortably tolerate a shot of kefir with no problem, as you said, then you could take 1 shot of kefir per day for a week. Then on week 2 you could try taking 2 shots of kefir (1 in the morning and 1 in the evening) every day for a week. If this increase in kefir aggravates symptoms in anyway, then immediately decrease the dose back down to 1 shot of kefir per day or discontinue entirely until symptoms are no longer aggravated. Then you can slowly start to reapproach and build up the amount of kefir again. You could repeat this process of increasing and decreasing kefir as necessary until you are able to build up to being able to comfortably tolerate therapeutic levels of kefir- such as 1 glass of kefir per day.
      Just an idea. Consult and double check this with your doctor and, as always, do not act upon this information without the approval and supervision of a licensed physician.

      First of all, I'm obliged to encourage you to consult with your doctor and seek medical supervision before making any changes to your medication or diet. That being said, I think cooked pumpkin should be a relatively safe food for most individuals, but it all comes to down to what you specifically are able to tolerate comfortably. If pumpkin exacerbates symptoms then I would recommend to avoid consuming it until it can be tolerably consumed. Hope that helps!

      I actually don’t pay much attention to the type of milk. I’ll use either to make kefir because that’s what I think is most important. So I've been making pasteurized milk Kefir for a month now. I want to transition to raw milk, I know you aren't a health specialist, but just wondering: You've been drinking it for a long time, have you ever gotten ill from it? Or were you fine and others you know who drink this fine? (I will buy from a German farm that routinely checks for contamination/is very controlled for hygiene by the state, since they sell raw).
    Appreciate you for doing this, if I ever make it in life and survive, I'll return the favor to people like you one day. Take care.

      I've never gotten ill from drinking raw milk or kefir made from raw milk, nor have I known anyone who has. But the risk of foodborne illness is definitely possible. I drink kefir made from regular pasteurized milk more often now since raw is harder to get. I think the fermentation process is key and still makes regular pasteurized milk an absolute probiotic powerhouse.

      @@team_honnas Thanks for the input Kenny. I'm gonna give it a try, since there are people that swear by raw Kefir, rather than pasteurized.

      Disagree for the most part. I definitely think your mental and emotional health can play a significant role. However, there is a physiological connection between the gut and the brain. So they do communicate back and forth. If your emotions are all over the place I could see that impacting your bowel habits, but the reverse is also true. If your gut microbiome is in a dysbiotic state and there is rampant inflammation within the gut then I could see that negatively impacting your thoughts and emotions. I think it’s important to thus work on both your gut health (by eating a gut microbiome optimizing diet, exercise, and drink clean water) and also work on improving your mental and emotional health. I don’t think it can simply be boiled down to just mental and emotional bc we are physiologic beings and what we eat and drink and how we move matters and impacts our thoughts and emotions. I reserve the right to change my opinion as I gather new information, but these are my general thoughts at the moment.

    Hey Kenny what do you think about the carnivore diet as perhaps a reset diet? Going to try and get off my meds perhaps by going carnivore and taking vitamin D beef liver, magnesium, enzymes and also looking into a probiotic once I find a good brand

    • @team_honnas
      @team_honnas  Рік тому +1

      I'm actually a pretty big fan of the carnivore diet even though I don't adhere to it. I especially think there is utility in using it as an elimination or reset diet as you described and then slowly incorporating a full variety of foods. I like to think of it as a bridge to better gut health (among other areas). I have nearly an hour long video that is still in the works all about this topic complete with 3 example routines and meals. Have to get a little help on editing it because it's been a beast of project. As always, I'm obliged to encourage you to consult with your doctor and seek medical supervision before making any changes to your medication or diet. That being said, if your doctor is on board, I think what you’ve described can be a pretty solid starting point on the road to gut microbiome optimization.

      I know you seeked Kennys answer and he gave you a very solid answer. I also think it's an excellent reset diet there is one problem tho with the carnivore diet that I've noticed with friends who've gone on it. The diet in itself is excellent for resetting but don't get stuck on it after healing! If you do and eat carnivore for a very long time I've noticed that people have a hard time getting out of it and expanding to other foods.

    🙃🙂 I think u don't have to do so many colonoscopies .... It's caused by stress and definitely fixing gut microbiome is not a permanent solution when the attack is coming from brain 🧠. Its more stressful when u put urself in strict diet avoid food and make food phobias ...just relax it never gets fixed cause it's not a disease at all .
