I agree. I have the Hantek leads and use them when I don't want to backprobe weatherpacked connections. I hesitated at the AES set when it was at $170 and now post pandemic at $270 its definitely out of my budget.

not just DIYers ... our HScope Telegram group has many members who work at this for a living (like you) but aren't made of money and look for sensible, affordable solutions

There is one more important reason to have this, I believe. For newer vehicles, when you change the battery just plug in 12 V in that middle lower hole marked DC and the ECM won't loose it's mind 😂 for the love of the old battery. Love your channel Dennis, the Telegram community and Martin's store as well. Stay warm up there 😂😂😂 and I hope that you'll be busy this winter with this channel

I burnt up a cable on my old Snapon modis because the grounds are bridged inside the scantool. Another shops had installed a new engine in a dodge Durango with a 5.2 and they connected the engine ground wire to the alternator B+ instead of connecting it to the ground stud located 3” away.

Agreed that this channel is awesome!
I would say that it is a real niche though.
You would have to think of the categories and sub-categories this channel filters down to . . .
    Automotive
    Someone with technical knowledge.
    Looking to improve their tooling.
Willing to look past the equivalent of the snap-on truck to find those tools.
Willing to spend time to find value for money.
Willing to diy a tool to some extent.
    Etc etc.
For a lot of people, it's a flex to have the entire pico and aeswave catalogue down to the wps500.
I'd like to know where Ivan from pine hollows diagnostic gets his pressure sensor from for his pressure transducer.
Lastly, what the he'll are they expecting you to use so many male to male terminal for, haha?
Thanks as always for bringing these brilliant bang for buck options to us!

The break out cables can be used to pin a control unit so it can be programmed off the car.

Hi Denis, nice video. I can think of some ideas with those cables. I can give it double utility: in the vehicle and on the workbench (electronic repair)

I agree.. This channel is a gem. Too many "mechanic pros' think they have to use the brand name stuff or they aren't legit as a company. I don't buy into this kind of disease of the mind. I'll probably get this BOB just because of those leads.. that's a steal

I think those cables are for a K Line bus to hook all the connections together then remove them one by one to diagnose which module is taking down the network...

Excuse me for my ignorance, how do you tell if 4 and 5 are bridged by just appearance? I never knew they are bridged. A big take away. Thank you, Dennis.

    • @theGADGETSplaylist
      @theGADGETSplaylist  3 місяці тому

on some you can see the circuit trace connect 4 & 5 together
and can measure also between 4 & 5 with ohmmeter and get 0Ω
with the AUTOOL (and also on some other brands) when we measure 4 & 5 we get "OL" ... open loop
