This is a great idea for a series. I'm looking forward to seeing what you talk about next. It's always lovely to hear you talk about Tolkien!

I've got at least a dozen books on my shelf that I could grab and talk about without much prep work, so I hope this gives me something to chat about at least weekly!

A new David video! And I see Tolkien in the title. Good enough. 😁

What better way to kick off a new idea than turning to the Professor?

I almost bought this for 6 bucks, I only didn't because I already have a copy of Tom Bombidal and Farmer Giles and Smith, and Tree and Leaf (which could be his best work, I love to reread it). I only don't have the Translations, but since I like having separate books for each work, and I was feeling weirdly frugal at the time - despite having multiple copies of the Hobbit - so I didn't get it. 😣 I would love to read Tolkiens translation of an Authurian story though (Green Knight and/or the Fall of Arthur) - I do hope I get a hold of those translations by themselves. And The Kalevala.

Oh yes, you can get those translations in their own volume and I strongly recommend reading them!
