    Bro I remember being 5 years old and my dad would take us to the beach just to pull stuck people out for fun. He had a 70's Jeep CJ7. Awesome video brotha, brings back a lot of memories and a lotta funny mamadas!!

      @CoastalGX  8 місяців тому +1

      Padre Island National Seashore is a national park accessible through the Corpus Christi area. The stretch of beach is cut at the port Mansfield channel (what we call the East Cut.) South Padre’s driveable beach is accessible through a Cameron County entrance. The area I drive is controlled by two counties and elements of the Laguna Atascosa National wildlife refuge. It’s not PINS. Hope this helps explain things.

    • @CoastalGX
      @CoastalGX  Рік тому +1

      I would honestly prefer PINS over SPI only because of the longer stretch of beach and isolation. However, I can’t fly my drone at PINS and it’s so much further away from me. So I almost exclusively go to SPI because it’s only about an hour from me compared to about three. You will be happy with either 🙌🏽🎥

      @@kitten103083 thank you. Most people driving from the north may find PINS a better fit because it's closer. However, if you want to have better eatery or tourist type of fun, then SPI may be a better experience. Thanks for watching!

      Wildlife agency says it’s restricted cause it’s technically the dunes. I personally think it’s a violation of the Texas Open Beaches Act since we are accessing the shoreline.

    Do you think it is doable to drive out the the 60 miles marker in a 2wd truck with aired out tires. Or is the soft sand just too much? I would obviously be trying to stay on hard pack and aired out.

    • @CoastalGX
      @CoastalGX  2 роки тому +1

      It’s possible, but improbable. I would strongly deter anyone from doing such a thing tbh. 60 miles is a long way and the beach can change in a matter of hours. If you must venture, make sure you have some proper recovery points and a buddy with a 4wd and recovery gear 😎🎥🎬

    Just my opinion, but, it looks like you yanked too hard (too fast) to get the other truck out. I’m no expert by any means, but, almost every successful recovery vid I’ve seen where they use kinetic ropes, the recovery vehicle doesn’t drive faster than 5-10 mph which doesn’t cause a “whiplash” effect on either vehicle, but does provide enough energy (from the rope stretching and then contracting, along with the pulling force). Again, I’m not an expert, but, what I’ve seen others do is that it may take more than one pull to get the vehicle unstuck, but, it prevents overloading your rope, your recovery points, and the people in the vehicles as well.
    In any case, helping others when they need it is a noble thing to do, so, keep on helping as much as you can.
    Saludos.

      @@CoastalGX, I’ve started watching your vids recently, mostly about SPI, and I gotta say, you’re doing awesome stuff out there. I used to go to the island way more often when I was younger. Remember when the old pier that used to be near Andy Bowie Park? That, plus further north were our favorite spots to do 2-3 day camping/fishing trips. We almost never went to the East Cut, only did it once iirc way back in the mid 80’s in a 2WD car!

    It's so freakin important man if we have loved one's to seriously stay as safe as possible. The older we get the more we slack on certain things the more that we and our loved ones are affected.
    In the cold me being stubborn I almost got hypothermia the night before the texas freeze. Also in the heat we've almost ended up dehydrated at the end of the port aransas jetties to the point I felt I needed to buy water from anyone.
    Please Robert man be safe out there. It's funny if you think about sandy being all geared and ready to save people from being stuck in the sand ...from what could potentially become a crazy emergency...but then there you are Sandy's owner freakin looking like a dog desperate for water man. It wasn't cool seeing you like that.
    After teaching my gf #TheGirlInYellowRainCoat how to fish I've slowly been learning how important rest & food are if I want to enjoy fishing 😂😂😂😂
    I've taught her alot but I've learned alot from her. Ey man and the Gazelle t4 is like setting the oven at a nice low and slow 205°F and trying to relax in it 😅
