Nikki Sixx and I had the same doctor when he lived in my town. One day I saw him in the waiting room for his appointment and I took the chance to thank him for all the Crue music. We talked for about 10 minutes as the doctor was calling me in and I told her in a few minutes. Even doctors don't count when a rock legend is in the same room. We spoke of life and music in that short time. He was very nice. Soft-spoken and genuine.
That would have been really cool!
That was really cool Buck. I used to see him in a park or walking the streets, but always left him alone. I gave him a wave and he would wave back. I live in a town that many rockers live. It is away from the chaos of the city and the limelight. It gives them a chance to be like you and I. They are really great people. Richie Sambora and his kid sat next to me at a Harry Potter movie. And Kevin Cronin of REO and I talked kitchen cabinet knobs for over a half hour at the Home Depot. That was fun and really cool.
@@timkeagy4094 My closest experience to that was when I lived in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu, and I used to see the then Heavyweight kickboxing champion of the world, Dennis Alexio, quite often. Sometimes I would cross paths with him at the beach or a restaraunt, but I never tried to approach or speak to him.
That Isa real cool that's for sharing that big crue fan
How cool
Next you need to react to Motley Crue "Wildside". Tommy's drumset will blow your mind! 🤯🥁
Same thing with "Same Ol' Situation"
Yes!
I second that 👍
Yes please, it will make Jay freak out
Yes Please ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Fun fact: from start to finish from Vince to Tommy to Nikki to Mick. The Feelgood album was the first album Motley did where every band member was sober. They recorded in Canada and pretty much shut themselves up in the studio.
Mick Mars is pretty underrated on guitar. I won;t pretend he's a technical master but he could come up with some nasty riffs perfect for the Crue style and a huge reason they are still successful to this day.
agree!! his solos are so memorable I feel the same way about Ace Frehley.
Robert Alan Deal aka Mick Mars had rough time playing in California scene about 10 years before joining Motley Crue. He changed himself in more dark and edgy edgy musician.
I tried to love this comment lol
Mick Mars didn’t need to be technically great… he always came up with killer riffs and always had monstrous tone. He definitely has earned his place in rock/ metal history.
The riff god!!!!
I'm not even a Motley Crue fan but this song really hooked me, what a riff, what a hook...love this one!
Same here.
I feel like that was their first Mötley reaction.
Just how are you not??? They're so amazing
Ultimate Kick ass tune! Saw the Crue a few times and they don't disappoint! Drum solo live is amazing!
I saw them with Cheap Trick. Awesome concert. Couldn't hear for 2 days, but worth it, lol
@@KathySandru I like Cheap Trick better than Motley Crue!
Ahhh, yes! The 80s! Best decade for music and movies! Another great reaction! 👍
Dude, really…. Are you saying that the groups from the 80’s even compare to the groups from the 70’s? Motley Crue, GnR, Ratt, Metallica, and literally every group from the 80’s couldn’t even come close to comparing to Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, CCR, CSN&Y, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who. I mean c’mon man….
I have seen them in concert many times they are always so much fun and seeing Tommy drum upside down and spinning around is always a treat.
Mick Marrs is one of the most underrated guitar players ever
Facts
I always have to agree
Yaaa!!!I love Mick Marrs!!! He's my favorite member of MC...had a huge crush on him when I was in Jr.High!!lol😂
I agree with this and Richie Sambora
@@ML-jk3sz agreed Sambora is a beast
Mick Mars is so underrated, this guy is a monster on the guitar. What makes this band so iconic is the perfect assembly of all its members, Crue just has so much good music, very hard not to have these guys on repeat. Try “ Don’t Go Away Mad”…enjoy!!
'Dr. Feelgood' was Motley Crue's 5th album in 1989, and it was their biggest record... charted at #1 & sold 6 million copies in the US alone... it had 4 more video singles - "Don't go away mad( just go away)"... 'Kickstart my heart' ... 'Without you'... "Same ol' situation"...🤘🤘🔥🔥
Motley Crue celebrated their 1st decade w/ a 'best of' record 'Decade of decadence' in 1991... Unfortunately, a split w/ singer Vince Neil and the 90's grunge rock era wiped out Motley's commercial popularity.
They wrote and recorded the "Dr. Feelgood" album after they clean themselves up off of drugs and alcohol. Their writing and playing to so much tighter and driven as exemplified by this song. Nikki Sixx said in an MTV (think it was Behind the Music) interview that them getting sober really brought back their drive and intensity. That was an understatement. Not a huge fan of them and the whole "Hair" band era, but when these guys decided to seriously rock out they did it with aplomb.
And none broke top 40, Bubblegum rock.
Remark about the blonde chick in front of them. Vince Neil turned around and s.iled at them with a laugh saying " Hey guys."
Lead singer is Vince Neil. He's blonde. Funny story, he's one of the rumors about the song Dude looks like a lady. Seems Aerosmith and Motley Crue were somewhere and someone behind Vince Neil made dome
I always thought that decade of decadence should have been the live album. It could have been awesome. I love Entertainment or death it was just to late for me.
A thing that's great about you two as a reaction duo, is how you have some different preferences, but you are open to everything. It's especially endearing the way you find the good in the music your partner generally likes more than you do. 💜
This one takes me way back. This album was after the 4 guys got clean/sober. It rocked much harder than when they were drinking/drugging it up.
I remember being blown away the first time I sat down and listened to this album. I’d liked Motley Crue before, but there was so much anticipation with this one with their new sober lifestyle, and nobody really knew what to expect. This album was SO GOOD!
However….afterwards…during the tour it all derailed! Except Mick Mars. His gf was there to keep him in line!
They also had Bob Rock as a producer on this one. Probably had a lot to do with the sound.
You should definitely check out the Motley Crue songs "Kickstart My Heart", "Same ol' situation", "Without You", and "Primal Scream".
I believe they covered this already
Primal Scream. One of their songs very few know of.
SOS... Love! Such great memories to the whole Feelgood album!
They already did a reaction to Kick start my heart
I’ve been waiting for you to react to this!! Fantastic song!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You're All I Need, Wildside, 10 Seconds To Love..love the Crue.
From 80s new wave to 80s metal in one night, this is great !!
Love this genre and era to J. Motley Crue, ACDC, Scorpions, Cheap Trick, Slaughter!! Hell yes gimmme more. Always love your vibe guys. But Lizzy Hale is dying to come back! Also ACDC RIDE ON is dying to be played!! Much love and light guys. #AMBERSWAY!!
And now you all definitely need to do more Motley Crue reactions. Too Young To Fall In Love, Smokin In The Boy's Room, Wildside, Looks That Kill are some suggestions.
I have seen the crew over 11 times over the years and lucky to never gotten a bad concert. I recently got 3 tickets to there upcoming show in Detroit on July 10th with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jet. I have seen over 100 concerts over the years so if you get a chance to go to one you won't be disapointed. CREW!!! CREW!!! CREW!!!
Have you tried one of their ballads; "Without You"; "Home Sweet Home"; You'r All I Need" are some.
I love Motley Crue too, Y'all and I have since the very beginning with their song "Live Wire" from their debut album ("Too Fast for Love")...You simply MUST check out their full-length live concert filmed in Grand Rapids, MI during their initial reunion Tour "Carnival of Sins"!!! It's incredible, in my humble and accurate opinion - lol
This band is so electrifying live!! I saw them with Poison about 8 years ago. What an amazing concert that was. Tommy Lee on the drums live?? MUST see. He is one of my favorite drummers ever. He is a self taught drummer with great talent. This song was so cool live. They had the pyrotechnics and dancing girls...fun concert for sure!
Still and always will be one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BANDS. Never a bad time for some MOTLEY CRUE. :)
They are even better live i have seen them ! one of my top concert's
There's actually a group called *Dr. Feelgood* which you two need to check out. While "Milk And Alcohol" is probably their biggest hit, "She Does It Right" is my #1 recommendation. 👍
EDIT: I'll throw in "Roxette" for good measure 😉
I went to this concert! Warrant opened for them. Best concert ever!!!
Kickstart my heart is an awesome song by motley crue
"Dr. Feelgood" (the album) is easily my favorite by Motley Crue. They rock, and the songs are so catchy. They did slow it down for the song "Without You," which should be your next reaction. My dad absolutely hated hard rock & heavy metal, but he looked like he was impressed when "Without You" was playing on the radio. 😎
Checkout "Kick Start my Heart" and "S.O.S" from the same album.
Best MC album for sure!! And Without you is such a great ballad I think Amber will love it!! Give it a listen sometime, you won't be disappointed.😃thanks guys, you rock!!😄✌
@@davidgreene6607 Yes to "Kickstart My Heart"!!! The ending alone will blow them both away! *Actually, they already reacted to that one. I thought they did. I had to search, and sure enough, it was there. :)*
My dad also does not like Motley Crue. Not sure why.
We ain't listening to Crue for ballads! 😁
Love this reaction. I was actually at the filming of the warehouse scenes with fire for the video. I was 12. It was awesome!!! I actually have Tommy’s drum sticks from the video and guitar picks from Mick and Nikki in my wallet to this day! They are my favorite band!!
My favorite of Motley Crue is Looks That Kill, great riff with some interesting chording and the music video is great of course.
Again…… Motley Crue is MY BAND! Got me through a lot in my life. I’ve been requesting this one for a long time now.
Now…… react to Ratt…. Either “”Round and Round” or “Lay It Down”. My two favorite childhood bands, Motley Crue and Ratt.
Ratt - Round and Round, absolutely! Great hair metal band!
They already did Round and Round!
@@jaysone.94 okay….. “Lay It Down” it is!
This is one of those epic songs when they came out, like VH-Jump, Whitesnake-Here I go again. What a time to be alive, I was in my twenties thru the 80’s.
Title track from their 5th album in 1989, the same one that produced Kickstart My Heart which you have done.. This is their highest charting single in the US and the only one to go Gold.
One of their heaviest songs. Primal Scream is, I think , their heaviest.
Primal Scream is great! Makes me wonder what would have happened if they hadn’t broken up just after the Decade or Decadence album came out.
I love Primal Scream
My mother, who was born in 1916, used to have a big picture of them on the toilet wall.:)
This was the only album that they did sober and it was a big hit with the Crew fans. Much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕❤
I would turn my stereo up roll my windows down and scream down the highway!!! These guy’s are Awesome!!!
You need to see this band! Saw them last summer and this 64 year old body could not stop rocking AND dancing!
Dr. Feelgood is Motley Crue’s greatest album. There’s not a bad song on the album.
I lost interest when this album came out myself, I think their best album was their first album. Isn't that weird. I do like this particular song though, mainly for Tommy's drumming.
Sure, it has the most hits but I prefer both Shout At The Devil and Theatre Of Pain albums.
You misspelled gayest. Shout at the Devil is their only good (GREAT) album.
@@Ilikeryche I only liked a couple of songs off Dr. Feelgood. Their early stuff is BY FAR the best!
@@ThisCharmingBat I'm with you. Your profile pic reminds me of "New York Nadia". She has a channel on youtube if you're curious. Not sure why I figured you needed to know that, but now you do.
OH YES!!!!The Crue💙💜💙💜💙💜💙
I love Motley Crue! This is a fantastic song, but you guys have more to listen to. There is still Live Wire, Looks that Kill, Smokin in the Boys Room (my all time fave MC song), Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away), Saints of Los Angeles and Primal Scream
I was 12 years old and living in Fairbanks, Alaska, the first time I heard this song. Headbanging quickly ensued. Thanks for the memories. 💙 from Texas.
This tour was amazing to witness! My sister and I saw them twice on this tour in Dallas. Love your reaction to this! And I love how Amber is right there alongside Jay loving some Crue!! 🤘
You see them this year? I'm seeing them in Minneapolis in August and can't wait!
@@iowaberg I haven't. The last time I saw them was 2014 on their All Bad Things Must Come To An End Tour. I hope they rock your brain in August! 🤘
My 4 yr old loves this band! His fave song is "Girls, Girls, Girls", but I've often caught him singing the chorus to Dr Feelgood when he's playing. My 6 yr old sings this as well.
My wife's favorite band, mine KISS.....took her first and only Motley Crue concert (before Vince started losing his voice and was in good shape) a few months before we started dating......fast forward we've been maried going on 15 years now, ben together 18, time flies.
Wife here..Saw them with Warrant 89!!
I'm so f'ing stoked, a friend and I got floor seats for their Toronto show in August.
Never mind the song, there was a band called Dr. Feelgood from the UK. Favorite working class band of the upper classes (including the lady (later princess) Diana.
I had the chance to meet them at a local record store signing back in 83. Super cool and partied hard. Definitely need to hear more! AND I still have the album with all 4 signatures
"Too Young To Fall In Love" for a killer riff with a hard drumbeat too!
I was at a girl's house in 9th grade and a bunch of us were hanging out drinking beers and watching mtv(among other things) ...this song and video were premiered that day in 89 and the next day ...great memories....the opening of this song is iconic
1990 was a great year and the Dr Feelgood tour was the best concert I ever went to! 🤘❤😎
Dr. Feelgood came out in 89
I saw Motley Crue in '85 in San Antonio 🇨🇱 trippin' hard on some good blotter!🤯😂 The lights, the pyrotechnics, Nikki Six on guitar, Mick Mars bass, Tommy Lee, Vince Neil's vocals, their energy on stage.......it was awesome!💯🔥🤗❤✌
Still my favorite CRUE song and if you have the album version of this song, the intro before the song builds up and gets you even more pumped up by the time the song starts. In my humble opinion, their 2nd best song is PRIMAL SCREAM. Hope you get a chance to review that video/song. You will love it. Keep smiling ✌😊
So glad y’all loved this tune; I remember when I first heard it after it came out in ‘89, and I loved it! My sister and I had met Tommy Lee outside the now-gone rock club Gazzarri’s, on the Sunset Strip in L.A., a few months before the Dr. Feelgood album came out, and he was a very friendly, nice, laid back guy, and we chatted a while before he had to go. Ever since then, no matter what he did to land in the papers, I’ve always had him on my Good Guy list.
In the late 70s and early 80s, I lived on North Doheny in Hollywood about three blocks from Nikki Sixx. I saw Motley Crue's first show on my 21st birthday at the Starwood club. If you lived in that area at that time, you know exactly who Dr. Feelgood was. The song is based on a real guy. Dr. Feelgood was a guy who worked as a mechanic during the day and sold coke at night to the musicians playing the clubs on Sunset Blvd. Even though he was loaded, he drove around in a crappy car dressed in crappy clothes and worked at a crappy job because he didn't want to attract attention to himself. If the cops ever asked him where he got the cash he carried around, he would tell them he got lucky on the horses at Santa Anita. The part about the cops isn't them buying drugs, its "Jimmy" paying them off to look the other way. As long as you were not causing any problems, the police were more than happy to take donations in return for not driving down the alley behind the clubs. All of a sudden, Dr. Feelgood stopped coming around and no one saw him again. There were several urban legends about what happened to him. A couple are referenced in the song. In one, he got killed by the Mexican drug cartel for selling drugs on their turf. In another, he got tipped off that the police had busted one of the cops he was bribing so he took off and moved to Acapulco.
Nearly every video reaction reminds me of the good times, and to be grateful for the days, of my youth. I saw MOTLEY CRÜE on my 21st B-Day at the '83 US Festival.
💕🤘😎 I saw these guys with my BFFs when we were all 17! 1986, and everything people are telling you about Tommy Lee's drum set is true, unbelievable and wild you have to check it out! Warrant opened up for them, the sound guys messed up and it was way way way too loud, none of us cared We Had the Time of Our Lives drooling over naked tommylee floating over our heads LOL💕✨😹
The anticipation for this album was so high, its awesome.
Not just an 80’s hair band. The BEST 80’s hair band.
Motley Crue “Primal Scream”
Crue in their prime from Girls, Girls, Girls to the Dr. Feelgood record... such a great live shows... Tommys drum kit hanging and spinning from the ceiling, hehe... great times at concerts in the 80s and 90s... definitely one of the best named greatest hits records, Decade of Decadence, indeed...
“Home Sweet Home” is a ballad from them and has a killer guitar solo
It's so weird that I can still remember each and every word.I remember running home from school when this songs new video was made and put on MTV.
Songs remind me of every year that I was alive! I have no Idea how. that calendar works in my head, but it does remind me of a year with tons of memory. 1989, and 19 years old and hanging out with my friends and cruising and thinking about going to college. This was the party song.
Motley Crue, 80's ROCK...Killin' It... Great Choice!!!
Their same old situation is awesome too love it and this one.
I was never a huge Motley Crew fan but they did have their few catchy songs. They were entertaining.
I loved MC from the first notes of the first song I heard. Absolute most of their songs bring me intant joy be it to listen to or to play. But this one - this one made appreciate them even more as musicians, my jaw dropped to the neighbor's apartment three floors below mine and I knew that any band I'd be in would have to cover this song.
This tour and Girls Girls Girls were two of the best concerts I’ve ever been too. You definitely got your money’s worth.
Drums hit so hard in this, Tommy doing his thing!
Some of my earliest memories are of me and my mom in the late 80s listening to this album in her car.
One of my favorite bands when I was a teenager in the 80's
my fav crue song of all time.....a great classic
I LOVE HOW EXCITED JORDAN GETS NOW ABOUT 80'S HAIR BANDS!!
😁😁😁😁😎😎😎
Just saw them live on the stadium tour. One of their best tunes. Luv your reactions on this one.
They are so amazing!!!!!!
AWESOME!! You guys killed it today!! Wow!! What a fantastic Hump Day!!
Thank you both!! 👍❤🤘
@Rob Squad Reactions
Saw this tour live in 89 .. I will never forget it 😂
That cool opening riff was lifted from Killing Joke's song "Love Like Blood". They sued Mötley Crüe and it ended with a settlement I think.
Jay, you would’ve been rocking out right next to me at their concert for this tour. They rocked so hard!
Love, thank & appreciate Amber & Jay as well. Great djs 🌞🥰
Song hooks you from the first second of that heavy guitar and drum intro and doesn't let up to the end. One of their best - they were all over the radio with this album in 1989 and into the early 90s.
I’ve heard this song for many years but never understood or remembered more of the words than that catchy chorus.
I don't know which songs you've done of Motley Crue so far I can't remember, but if you haven't reacted to these songs yet these are the ones I highly recommend you try next.....- live wire - Shout at the Devil - Looks That Kill - smoking in the Boys Room - home sweet home - girls girls girls - Wild Side - You're All I Need - Kickstart My Heart - without you - don't go away mad (just go away) - Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.) - Primal scream - Hooligan's Holiday (from an album without Vince Neil on vocals or on the album at all) - misunderstood (from an album without Vince Neil on vocals or on the album at all) - Saints of Los Angeles - motherf**er of the year - power to the music (from an album without Vince Neil on vocals or on the album at all)
Please try to do the official videos most of these songs have official videos.
Do real soon thanks can't wait to hear some more reactions of Motley Crue one of my favourite bands
I forgot how much I loved this song.
U guys should check out the video of Tommy in a rotating clear drum cage playing flawlessly
Great video I always really enjoyed this band plus this song is so good. Love watching your reactions. Much love
This song is one of my top favorite Motley Crue songs. I like their cover of Smoking In Boys Room. Home Sweet Home is another one of my favorites from them.
You are both the best there is at analyzing the greatest songs of all time. This is one of my fave songs and fave bands of all time. Thank you for picking this one. Another amazing song and video by them is called “Don’t Go Away Mad, Just Go Away from 1990.
I think for your next Motley Crue reaction you should take it all the way back to where it all started, the song Live wire from their first album!
When i was 18 i flogged this album to death. Still sounds great
Guitarist Nikki Sixx once overdosed and had to be revived. The Crue partied in their time, but as I understand it, they weren't in that lifestyle when they did this song. Great tune!
"Kickstart My Heart" is their best song. If you like this one, you'll LOVE that one.
I graduated High School in 1986, so the 80's sound shaped my life! This was the first band I ever saw in concert, in their tour following the Dr. Feelgood album. It was AMAZING! Been a huge fan ever since.
There is a movie on Netflix right now, called The Dirt, that is about Motley Crue, how they got started, their performances, trashing hotels, getting all the ladies and too much drugs. Fantastic movie that really captures the essense of the band, and clearly explains the reason for the song, Kickstart My Heart.
And of course the soundtrack Kicks A$$!
Yes! This one is definitely on my road trip playlist!
Back when this album first came out i used to blast it in the dorms at Carswell Air Force Base.
Dr Feelgood Tour- my first concert. It was awesome. The band left out of the auditorium in a white unmarked van and almost ran me over in the parking lot. I turned around and and they were all in the windows making faces & waving at me. I’ve never seen a band with more energy than MC.
This is my Rock band. Love Motley Crue.
Yea this was one of the major headbangers of the 80’s
I really hope you react to their song Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away). Not only is it very tongue-in-cheek, but the second half of the video made a 7-year old me think that it would be so much fun to be in a rock band. Love it to this day.
