    So glad I watched your video. I have already ordered this at the low price of $699 + tax. It's a steal at this price point compared to the 48 c series at $1k+. But you just warned me that it may trip my circuit breakers in my old nyc home. It's in transition so I'll have to get it and see how it performs. I'll be using it as a display for console gaming form the couch with the pc hooked up to it as well. 8 months later and I can say thanks for the video.

      Same boat - at that $699 I bought 2 a few weeks ago. I'm using one for productivity/gaming, and I love it. But it really is too big as I'm only 18" from it. I might use it in my sim rig, and send the unboxed one back. Not sure. But it's a really nice monitor.

      Guys do you still recommend this TV/Monitor ? I’m between this one and the LG C3 42/48 and not sure yet

    • @hueyt224
      @hueyt224 3 місяці тому

      @rixiorx the monitor has been great. It has a Matte finish on the screen like an actual monitor. I think that kind of holds back the colors popping on bright scenes but I've been enjoying it. If you're looking at it at full price, go C-series. The only difference between the two is this can overclock to 138, has a Display port, and the matte finish. I believe the C tvs are a better value since they are smart tvs. At the price I bought it, I just attached a firestick and it was well worth it. I see LG sometimes drops the price on this Monitor periodically if you want don't mind waiting.

    • @hueyt224
      @hueyt224 3 місяці тому

      @rixiorx I also figure I should include that this model is designed after the C1. So if you at look it. Full price you're paying for a C1 48 while the C3 48 is cheaper. But if it goes to $699 again, it's a steal.

    First time viewer. I know I'm still going to use another monitor along side the c3 or the 48GQ. The smaller monitor for the upclose work, and then the larger monitor for a steam big picture mode experience and will only be used for gaming and watching movies and shows. So this video has actually been perfect for helping me to choose between the 2 screens. Honestly one of the biggest things that's making me go towards the C3 is literally the remote and the processor speed. The C2 here is £999 the C3 is £1400 and the monitor is also £1400 all for the 48" screens. I actually think I will spend the extra and go with the C3. The OC doesn't really bother me nor does the anti-glare as I already use a reasonably darkend room.

    • @RomanDoes
      @RomanDoes  Рік тому

      Glad I could help! In fact if you are in the US or Canada, C3 will go on sale around Thanksgiving time which is just 1.5 months away and that price is usually the same one you get for black Friday.

      I have a video coming out about Alienware monitor, and once you place them side by side with C2, Alienware sucks.
      To answer your question, though, what do you plan to use it for? Gaming only? Or do you want to do work too? If work, consider 42in C2. I have a video coming out about it tomorrow as well and comparing it with Asus PG42UQ oled.

    What about the agressive dimming in productivity/gaming/movies? Since you can't turn it off it is an issue or you can't notice it? Ppl said it does dim while gaming while others said it doesn't dim. Even Rtings say "brightness fluctuates between scenes" but if it's just a "monitorized" c2 it is an issue with that too or they just amped it up in the monitor? I would buy this over a c2 because i don't need TV features and don't like glossy screens at all but i can't decide.

    • @RomanDoes
      @RomanDoes  Рік тому +2

      I'm aware of that dimming issue, but I haven't seen it in action while monitor is in use. I only saw it once when I left a word document on the screen for a few hours. When I came back, it was indeed stuck at low brightness setting, but it's easily fixed by pressing a scene mode button on the remote and it's back to normal. For me, the power consumption was more of a concern as it kept triggering my brakers, I would keep it over C2 if not that.
      In regards to glossy vs mat, I actually use C2 with window to the right and so far glossy screen is only an issue when I have my studio lights on at the back. Also, during the day, if you play dark games, that could be a slight nuance, but nothing major. Overall, I'm very happy with 42in C2 and it's cheap now.
      Hope this helps!

    I'm stuck. Right now that monitor is at 699.99 and I'm contemplating buying it. Right now I have a 3 monitor setup, one being a TV that is 42" that I can definitely move up to 48". I don't really use the TV apps, and if I wanted to I could always hook up an apple tv to the monitor and I would definitely benefit from the anti glare. What would you recommend in my case?

    I bought the Ultragear 45 last night. I went into the store intending to buy the C3. I am upgrading from a CX. I hated the Ultragear 1440p ish compared to my CX 4k! I already have the Ultragear boxed back up, I will get the 48 C3. I understand the Ultragear monitor is 240hz comparex to 120hz on the C3. But i just couldn't stand the WAY worse picture quality in ny games. Save your money, get a C3.

    excellent monitor but the lg cx, c1 and c2 beat this monitor and it is because of the hgl technology.
    literally hgl is superior to hdr and if you have games that don't support hdr, hgl converts sdr as if it were hdr superior.
    example metro exodus supports hdr and it looks good when you play it in hdr but when you change the game to sdr converted to hlg the image quality is beastly, it literally changes a lot and looks much better, it hurts that the monitor is not compatible with hgl.

    • @manuchaves9511
      @manuchaves9511 Рік тому +1

      @@rovosunny1687 all games are compatible with hlg, even old games that are only sdr, you must first activate hlg on the oled tv and to do so you must enter the video settings and then with the control of the television you press the commands 1 1 1 3 1 1 1 and so the tv activates a secret menu and there you change the tv to hlg, look for a tutorial on how to do it on youtube, then you must deactivate the hdr of the windows operating system and also deactivate the hdr of the video game in game graphics settings and then the game will only use hlg, if you have xbox or ps5 do the same, in console settings disable hdr, because if you have hdr enabled then hlg will not work well, search youtube for "hlg in metro exodus" in that video they explain well what tr mentioned, and you will notice the difference in detail of the games even in old games it will look much better.

      Are you certain about the size? I went with 42in C2. A lot more manageable for a computer monitor if you plan to use it for anything else apart from gaming.
      This was my main reason for switching to C2. Otherwise, I would keep Ultragear because of its DP port, matte finish, monitor like functionality.
      C2 advantage is that it's a tv and more of a plug and play approach. Their built in functions are great for picture adjustments and sound is way better than Ultragear.

      I do a bit of coding, and document reading on it. It possible to fit 3 word documents side by side. However, due to its size, the main one is always in the center, this is the only good way to keep your neck straight.
      Even email writing, I have to do that, making sure that its in the center. Takes a bit of getting used to, and I do write long emails for work, so it could be more of a personal thing.
