I would go for the LG monitor. I've got a glossy LG OLED TV and I have to close my curtains to use it during the day, I don't want to have to close them to use my PC.
If only LG has USB-C, then it is a big win for a dad who works 8 hours a day and play console game afterwards. Nothing beats a single USB that charges the device and provides display output. And on that price, LG should have USB C input.
They're almost the same to me, so for me the main difference is the warranty, Dell, MSI and ASUS offer 3 years warranty including warranty (ASUS since this year february, so it covers all their new 3rd gen oled panels), meanwhile LG only offers 2 years warranty which doesn't include burn-in, therefor the LG is an instant skip for me. I'm sure people who prefer glossy (like me) make sure to darken their room if they're going to choose such a panel, always when I start to game I close the curtain. Matte is nice for people who do not control their household, for example living with parents or family and/or have their setup in the living room instead of a seperate office room.
@@bonanzabrandon6877 Then believe what you see through a youtube compressed video through your phone/pc 😂😂 I tested both and glossy makes the image better this is just facts, go see in person instead of believing your own story!! raised blacks on QD OLED aren't visible enough to make you say "oh this is magenta not black". Both I've tested got strong lighting sources on them and believe me or not the only thing that burned my eyes was the matte coating making the screen look like 800€ cheaper.. Otherwise blacks in person are completely the same if you just dont put any strong light in the room. You can always control your lighting not the screen coating.
Timestamp @ 6:30 giving me edge lit vibes. The purpose of OLED is to have perfect contrast and when you have raised blacks you kinda get somewhat the effect of blooming in a sense which i can also see the colors pop more ( extra brightness ) and so on with the QD-OLED. The ROG isn't bad by any means and these OLEDS are close but imo LG needs to get the perfect blacks in the mix with QD-OLED. Like in that screen the ROG looks brownish from raised blacks which again is somewhat the effect of when you get blooming. For me, Its LG 32GS95UE the picture is more in line of what an LG OLED C3 / C4 would be for the most part.
I think the main deciding factor is whether you are willing to optimize lighting. QD-OLED is cheaper and has clearly better HDR real scene performance if you can optimize the lighting conditions. If you cannot optimize the lighting conditions then QD-OLED is a purple mess. I went for QD-OLED personally since my only light sources are behind the monitor anyway, it's much cheaper too.
@@touristhawk by not needing to look at the keyboard when typing 😅 Alternatively, a monitor light bar should do the trick since the light would not hit your screen directly and shouldn't affect the image quality too much.

@@sadasd-n2f It's a fair point but I've been a basement dwelling goblin for a decade already and would continue to do so regardless of what monitor I purchase. @@sadasd-n2f but the matte coating on WOLED will destroy your experience and blacks anyway. the scattered light across the matte screen makes everything look bleak, makes blacks look like whiteish and makes the image sometimes hazy. the truth is simply that there is no perfect monitor yet. but if you aren't obsessed with matte coatings then QD-OLED should be better, despite the raised blacks
I agree it's a tough call to choose one or the other. It really boils down to personal preference and what your room environment is like for lights. I'm leaning towards the LG for the reason of being jack of all features but not the master of all. Thanks for your indepth review as it covered all these monitors' pros and cons.
I love glossy and what's surprising is the hate I get for it. People hate that I like glossy screens. Matte coating did get better on last few monitors but the 3m usual coatings was AWFUL forever. As a general rule, matte coating absorbs the light and diffuses it. So sharp reflections get bigger and dimmer but also make bigger area on the screen greyt. While glossy is more mirror like but black is black, nothing disrupts sharpness and colors of the screen. There are different glossy coatings. I have great experience with lg oled tvs like lg c1 and the glossy coating on it makes the reflections MUCH dimmer and non intrusive. When I sit in my living room in the evening, I don't see any reflections even on black background. Now, I don't know how asus glossy compares to lg glossy. But at 2:46 if you pause with reflection of the ceiling lamp seen on both screens, you can see the matter on the right, the reflection is actually just bigger and imo way more distracting.
@@hitman480channel8 I know it would be for me personally. but I am not going back to monitors. TVs are a better deal, bigger and even speakers on my c1 are very good (with right mode)
I have both of these monitors right now side by now and the LG isn’t even close due to the matte coating. The colors just look so significantly better with the glossy ASUS.
I think there is only one condition to compare both oled technologies, the lifespan. The Rtting did a nice job to compare both technology qd- and woled. According review of long burn in test, the qd oled are more prompted to be burn in because lack of white subpixel push the entire subpixel to reproduce white color. I would definitely take woled tech for production work and qd oled for content consumption. And of course glossy panel is a lot crisp in dimmed condition which is preferred by gamers. There are also a lot of users they used their woled's as productivity monitor since lg c2 and the big bunch of them never experienced burn in.
Yeah. I paused there and was also about to comment this. I'm asking myself why I would even consider an OLED if I don't get those perfect blacks. You can't even see the bezels on the LG there since its so black.
Yep, I only do hdr gaming/movies in dark room so I went for the asus. But if you gonna game in a bright room it shouldnt even be a question and you should grab a woled.

@@vujhvjvgvfujk9888 4:31 ROG supposed to be a better one? Seriously? Look at these blacks!

I went for QD-OLED personally since my only light sources are behind the monitor anyway, it's much cheaper too.
how do you optimize backlit keyboard to see it in dark 😁
@@touristhawk by not needing to look at the keyboard when typing 😅
Alternatively, a monitor light bar should do the trick since the light would not hit your screen directly and shouldn't affect the image quality too much.
"Clearly Better HDR real scene performance"
No mate, the real scene performance would be not being locked up in a pitch dark room like a goblin when ever I want to use my 1500 euros monitor it would be me expecting a consistent performance of my monitor anytime I decide to press the power on button without doing mental gymnastics around the house to make sure the monitor will have actual black colours and not worse blacks than a 500 Euros Calibrated IPS panel.
@@sadasd-n2f It's a fair point but I've been a basement dwelling goblin for a decade already and would continue to do so regardless of what monitor I purchase. That's why QD-OLED just has no downside for me and comes at a considerably cheaper price (Alienware 1200 euro). If circumstances were different I would seriously consider WOLED though.
Ahh SpawnPoiint, im so happy .. ive orderd right now the LG
People hate matte screens too ;)
Best if there are options for everyone.
As a clg c1 user is the question is this upgrade worth 1400?
Dawg, every video on the lg has legions of people like you talking about how it's a deal breaker that it doesn't have glossy screen😂

I have both of these monitors right now side by now and the LG isn’t even close due to the matte coating. The colors just look so significantly better with the glossy ASUS.
But after spending more time in hdr and at night, is the hdr effect enough? The asus goes only 480 nits in 10% window.
4:30 is all you need to know if you want the QD or WOLED for bright rooms.
