I just got a 32” monitor and I thought it was already too big. I couldn’t even dare to use 40” let alone 48”.
Would you recommend 32 or revert back to say a 27 inch?
I use a 32 daily since 1 year and I was considering buying a 50 inch TV in order to have a bigger screen
i bought 32" monitor like half a year ago first i thought that it was too big but now im ready to get bigger. what im saying is you get to used it fast

49” neo g9 was life changing and i will never go back to a small monitor, yes i have to look across the room to see my mini map but i love every second
I went from a 34" ultrawide to a 48" OLED. At first I thought it was too much, but after a week I quickly got used to it. I tried going back to my 34" for a little bit and it felt like looking at a phone screen! Large format isn't for everyone, but with the screen at the back of my desk, I never have to turn my neck to see all four corners.

Nah massive screen for PC gaming is just too jarring , Unless all you do on your PC is play laid back games with your controller. I've had 42 and 48 (even placed back with enough space) and I just can't deal with it when I need to concentrate up close and personal.. On certain stuff I do and a bunch of games I play. I mean, Yeah I could have my 32 (perfect size imo) on a desk and have a big ass screen hooked up someone else with a couch for laid back controller fun, But i can't be bothered with the hassle lol. I'm perfect doing all my PC work and gaming on a 32 monitor. I have a PS5 on a big ass oled TV if I want that anyway lol (not that I use it much)
@@mozzjones6943 In my bedroom, I was able to position my monitors near enough to my wall mounted TV that I can just swivel my 42-inch 4096x2160p TV to the left and either play at around a distance of 4.5 --5.5 ish feet away, or I can just look forward at my 27-inch 1440p monitor. If I want to play in bed, just turn my TV back to face my bed, and do the same with one of my monitors if I'm watching UA-cam or something while gaming. As someone who almost exclusively plays single player AAA games, having a 1440p 100 Hz monitor and a 60 Hz 4k TV (paired with an RTX 3080 and an i5 12600k/32GBDDR4 3800mhz/Gen4 NVMe 2tb x3) has been a great monitor set up for me. I'm gonna for the same card next gen, maybe I'll go and again depends on whatever gives me more VRAM, but either the 5080/8900XT ish area, and I'm, more than pleased with DLSS at 4k, so I think I will have the hardware to continue to push 4k. I used to be so obsessed with my framerate, but nowadays, I'm fine with 100 Hz. A nighttime setting with the moon shining on the grass in RDR2 or even Ghost of Tsushima 4k HDR really makes you ogle at the screen and say "Damn, I'll sacrifice a few fps for this" lol.
I'm looking to grab a 27-inch Full HDR 1440p display, but considering just springing for a 32 inch 4k, but then I think I want an ultrawide, but then if I get an ultrawide, I don't get 4k, but I do get a dope ass fucking 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio and 1440p is still beautiful with full HDR, but 4k HDR looks impeccable, so I'm all fucked up when it comes to the choice of my next monitor lol. I still feel that 42 might be a good choice for me personally, because I have two other displays I would use for general use, and I only really game with a controller recently, until I want to get back into whatever RPG from back in the day like Kotor that are just abysmal to play with controllers.
The trick is to use a 42" screen, behind a 36" depth desk, and wall mount the screen. Much more balanced in terms of neck and eye relief

Yep. This is basically it. I use a 43" display, but on a 42 inch deep desk. It's pretty great.
I think 32" is where most people want to be, over sizing is just as bad as under sizing.

FoV is important on large monitors, as you discovered. I run an older Asus 43" (non-OLED, sadly), and sit probably a smidge closer than you with that one. I tend to run anywhere between 110-140 FoV depending on the game.
Been using my giga monitor 4K 55" LG B9 OLED w G-Sync since 2019. Sit about 6' away and game from the couch with wireless keyboard and mouse, Xbox controller. Its been great!
edit: I have 17,340 hours on it now and have practiced very good burn in prevention (auto hiding task bar, local dimming, and lower screen brightness setting overall).

Same here, I also use a 50" TV for gaming, and am happy sitting in my recliner 186cm from my screen. Sadly OLED is well out of my budget, but even my basic LG 4K display is good stuff.
@@arokh72 all depends on your priorities as well if OLED matters or not, when i was choosing my screen i chose not to get an OLED since all the ones at the size i wanted all had like 10ms more delay in tests, which, considering how i already have at least some delay from wireless keyboard, mouse and headset, doesnt feel like a smart choice to get

Similar here. I use a 65" 120hz Samsung as my main monitor and sit about 7' feet away with wireless peripherals and it's great for both work and gaming. After using this set-up for so long, sitting at a desk with a tiny screen would feel too restrictive and the experience wouldn't be nearly as immersive either.

I've used a 4k 49" screen with my PC for over 4 years now and in 4k 60 with proper configuration it's super clear and a pleasure to use and view. Playing on anything smaller seems like I'm looking at a postage stamp!

Yeah I use a 50" 4k oled HDR TV that I paid 300 for on black friday. I sit right in front of the thing like a monitor. If you were to look for a monitor with the same spec at half the size it's the same price which is ridiculous. A 50" TV is perfect for Sim racing, shooter games, or any other game really, RDR2 looks beautiful in 4k on my TV, forza has true to life size objects and it actually feels like you're sitting in the car because of the immersion and scale. You can't tell me that having a more zoomed in, higher quality picture is worse for gaming. You're just either broke or wrong or both or you've been mislead to believe that you need a monitor instead of a TV. My gaming setup is also my Netflix setup in front of my bed so it has multiple functions instead of just gaming. TV is better+ratio+get rekt
I have the 42" ROG PG42UQ on my desktop and it's great! Took a week or so to get used to, but it's fantastic. Going from 1440p IPS to 4K OLED is glorious. :)

@@strubbleler I've had it since 19th September and no neck issues. Only thing that took some getting used to was the size of the panel, but I have it set way back on my desk and all is well. No eye strain, neck or any other aches. I'm happy with it.

I have a 43 inch as well. I have a deeper desk (actually a table) so the screen sits a bit farther from me, but not too much farther. No neck injury and I prefer the larger desk. I would never go back to a smaller screen.
@@Voltaire321 A 27 Inch glued to your face, obliterates your Field of Vision. The more you go on size, the more you have to push in further, to have that same effect. There's no reason in having a gynormous display, 16k sitting 10000 metres away from your desk, giving you the exact same effect as a close 27 incher.
The only reason to go for a bigger PC monitor is if you plan on using it as a two-function display. If you don't want to get a TV for TV shows/movies, and you want to use ur PC monitor instead, bigger is better, depending the size of the room where it will be used.
Currently using the 42 LG OLED C2 and I freaking love it, but I think 48 would be too big for me
49" here, loving it after 6 months, even play competitive game like CoD
I totally agree I am using a LG UM7300 43" anything bigger for gaming is to big. For watching videos surfing the internet playing older games 50" would be just fine. 38" to 43" would about the biggest for gamers playing games that have come out in the last 7 or 8 years.
@@DJboutit2 i get 120 FPS on high settings in MW:2 that's about the latest big game out. so i'm not complaining, wouldn't go less than my 49" i love it.
i could tweak the graphics a bit more but i'm only at 120hz on my monitor, my monitor can go up to 240hz but i'm leaving it at 120 as want it to last.
Awesome, honest unbiased reviews of products Dawid, put you way above most youtubers. You would find something bad on a diamond and that is exactly what we need. We don't need to hear all superlatives and what not, but real pluses and minuses of each product you get your paws at. Good job.
I’ve been using a 48 inch LG C1 OLED for about a year now and it’s been pretty incredible. I wall mounted it and it sits about a foot away from my desk, so this setup definitely isn’t for everyone, but it’s been the best monitor/tv I’ve ever bought by far. High refresh rate, excellent response times, HDMI 2.1, 4k, HDR10, perfect blacks, it is a no compromises display.

I use a 28” 4k display and upscale UI and it is extremely sharp, I adore it. I had always used 24” 1080p monitors and this felt like a massive upgrade.
What is upscale UI?
Same here (28" 4k) I personally find anything bigger, I get a sore neck. Had a 34" Dell but it felt like a shrine surrounding me, and kept wanting to shift the chair back.
Not op, but I think he means windows scaling. On a 28 inch 4K screen you can get away with 150% scaling
My PC is currently connected to a 43" TV. I sit about 8 feet away so you are pretty spot on.
LOL... yeah im on a 44 inch ultrawide and I sit at a normal computer distance... and dear god does my head swivel back and fourth too much now!
I recently bumped up to a 65 inch TV for my home theatre setup and playing first person stuff on it initially took some getting used to. As you said, it kinda felt like being in a wormhole or something haha. Now I've adjusted to the extra viewing angle it's great but it'd be awful being sat too close to it. Definitely feel like bigger screens don't work out very well as PC monitors.

I have a LG curved 38" ultrawide ips and it's as big as I'd want to go, but I'd also never want to go back to a smaller monitor😁

If your going to go big just make sure your ppi is high. I'm running 4k at 43in and I feel it's really good all around. It's a TLC TV and I got it a few years ago for Hella cheap at $189 at target black Friday sale. Which is why I bought it instead of a 1080p TV as the 4k TV was actually cheaper lol. I now have a 1440p monitor that I got for free from a friend and it's terrible compared to my 4k TV. I want to upgrade to oled 144hz 4k at 43in or perhaps larger. I recommend being 30inches away or more from a 43in or bigger monitor or TV. I'm planning on getting a rolling TV stand that's height adjustable so I can perfect my viewing angles. I also use my TV as my TV for my bedroom for watching movies so going bigger would make a better movie experience as my TV is 12 ft away from where my eyes would be in bed. I love how immersive my large 4k TV is. Playing games like red dead redemption 2 is an absolute dream and I even get a bit of a competitive advantage in games like battlefield because I can see further due to the sharp crisp 4k resolution and the large format allows me to crank up the fov if I want. Overall it's going to be a personal preference but be careful as once you go 4k large screen you will never go back!

Optimal display size has always been part personal preference and a lot sitting distance. This looks like a great monitor, as mentioned in the video, for an in between of a traditional monitor and a tv. If your monitor position is a short distance from your head and you find a 32" monitor a tad bit small for your preference, then this would be a great consideration instead of a traditional tv, or as an option if you just want to be able to lean back and play with a remote, as demonstrated in the video too.

For scenarios where you need to focus to a smaller space like with gaming, you play windowed and leave the desktop black and empty. The point of these large high resolution monitors is to have a larger workspace, not to use everything necessarily in full screen. Like instead of multiple monitor setups.
Then you might as well get a smaller display…
Completely understand what you're talking about with MOBAs. I picked up an Aorus 48 inch monitor earlier this year and it's hilarious how you have to physically turn your head to look down at the map. I got caught out because of that more than a few times hahha
I've been using a LG C1 48" as my only monitor for around a year. 4k 120, gsync, and amazing pixel response time. And I kind of treat it like a multi monitor.
I upgraded from a 23" 1080p to a 27" 1440p display last year and I'm certain that if I go 4K, I'd top out at 30" or 32" at most. Else I'd just be looking around constantly.

trust me, dual displays is far better than 1 massive one. personal experience here. gaming on a TV-sized screen just sucks.

I've got the ROG XG43UQ (43" 4K UHD 16:9), on the ROG x IKEA UPPSPEL desk (80cm / 32" deep), and it's just about perfect. That size at that distance basically fills my main field of vision, and doesn't really need you to be actively moving your head around in normal use. It was a leap of faith to choose to go that big, took a little getting used to and some tuning of desktop scaling and stuff, but I'm glad I did. It's highly immersive in games, and the image quality is awesome. Pixel density is clean and crisp, you don't see the individual pixels. Going big also gives you extras like HDR1000, compared to HDR600 on typical premium 32" monitors.
No regrets, and I'd go for roughly that size again if I had to start over.

I have a 50" 4K 120Hz monitor and I wish I would have went maybe 42" or something a little smaller. I have 2 other 32" 4k 120Hz on each side for my normal computer stuff. When I try to use the 50" for certain tasks I just move them over to one of the 32" monitors.

My setup is a 43" 4k monitor as my main and a 24" 1080p monitor on each side of it, one flipped 90 degrees for discord and it's nearly identical height to the main monitor.

You need to judge size with distance. Also, I think most pc gamers recommend 90 FOV minimum
Also one has to differentiate the actual display FOV to you eyes. (Research puts it at most 78°)
And the game virtual FOV

Went with a 32 inch monitor and I feel it's about the perfect size for my uses. However, I'm quite jelly of my friends Samsung G9 Monitor. I recommend trying one if you can. :)
That is seemingly a good size for 1440p.
I prefer 32~34 inches for 4K. This is certainly entering the "too big" range for me, at my usual arms-length sitting distance. But the color and response time of OLED is wonderful.
My dream monitor would be 4K 75~144hz 32~34inch OLED with freesync (and optionally, >=HDR600). If that existed, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Asus announced a monitor with those specs at Computex this year.

The closest I could find with a quick search is the XG32VC which is a VA panel, and the PG42UQ which is too large at 42"; Not really suitable for my desk, I'd have to give up my other monitors, and it would need a curve at that close of a distance. I could be convinced to sacrifice (some of) my monitors for a curved ultra-wide like the new Samsung OLED G9, tho its 1440p (acceptable) and has some bullshit "smart hub" which is a deal breaker for me. So, I'm still out of luck...

For a desktop monitor, maybe a 32" would be ideal. If you have a big living room, and can sit relatively back from the monitor, a 39" to 42" is good. However, if you are about 6 feet away from it, a 55" is about perfect. It depends on the distance from the monitor versus the field of view.
Exactly. People don't seem to realize that the bigger the screen, the further away you're supposed to sit. Which in theory is counter-intuitive, just get a smaller screen and sit closer.
32" is fine if you sit close, but I'd rather have a 42" 4K or a 38" UW

I tried playing with a 60" tv. Trust me dawid if you love your neck and eyes you shouldn't go bigger than 27" 😂
I tried getting a higher refresh rate monitor that was 27", couldn't stand it compared to my 60Hz 55". Granted that was mostly an issue of resolution, as the 55" was 4k and the 27" was 1440p. But I returned the monitor within 2 days of picking it up because I hated it compared to my bigger TV and I haven't really looked back at smaller monitors since then. But even sitting 3-4 feet away from it I don't have to move my neck at all to see the whole display easily.

I love my 42" OLED set up in my living room, its great for the older games I tend to play. To your point, the racing games are just a fantastic experience on larger screens.

Currently my lounge setup is using a HTPC with an LG CX 55” OLED is a dream to use for single player titles and the colours are 🤤🤤🤤🤤!
I use a 48 inches LG OLED C1 as a monitor. Wall mounting it made a big difference in comfort, specially with the amount of stuff that's is on the bottom of screen (game dialogue, for example).

I'm currently using a 43" 4K TV for a monitor. I've been using bigger displays for years. What I've personally found is you must train yourself to move your eyes and not your neck. 42-43" is perfect to cover your field of view and immerse you into the game. And, moving just your eyes, you do not need to move your head. Any larger, depending on how far back your monitor is, of course, and you will have to move your head.
Plus, gaming aside, screens this size in 4K allow 2-3 windows at the same size with large, crisp content.
The proper sitting distance for a 4k display is the distance where it takes up most of your field of view but you can see it all, all the time, just a little eye movement to focus on different sides/corners. I sit about 3-4 ft away from my 55".
I bought a 1080p 42" TV back around 2010, and just a few months ago I upgraded to a 55" 4k QLED. And I would happily take something at that size and resolution at 60 Hz over something smaller (27") 1440p and 120 Hz. I bought a monitor to go alongside the TV, figuring I'd use the TV for watching whatever video I'm streaming and then see what all the fuss was about for high FPS gaming at 1440p on the monitor.
The 1440p monitor might have been okay as the only upgrade from the old 1080p TV, but after experiencing the joy of 4k at 55" I couldn't go to anything under 4k now. And I'm the kind of person that as long as my FPS is stable at 30 FPS or more I can't really tell the difference. Right at 30 FPS I kinda can... but 40+ is great and I feel like I'm wasting money on a display that does more than that. I spent hours trying to find the magical difference in the 120 Hz of the 1440p monitor (and before people ask, I was deliberately running games where I was getting at least that output shown by a Windows app overlay and in game FPS counters, usually games a few years old running on my 3060ti, so it's not like my GPU was only outputting 60 frames on a 120 Hz display). And I couldn't tell.
The only thing I'd notice is that things didn't look as sharp at 1440p as they did at 4k, even when having them take up the same amount of my field of vision, and I'd just get the urge to go back to my 4k display. If I got farther away from the 1440p it was simply "fine". So I returned the monitor because it felt like a waste of money. My TV was $450 for 60 Hz, and the monitor was like $300 for 120 Hz.
Bigger and higher resolution for me any day, over smaller and lower resolution with a higher refresh rate.
I'm watching this video on this exact model and it's perfect. That's coming from an Alienware 34" Ultrawide. I love this monitor. I watch lots of videos and the screen space makes it easy to multitask and actually see what I'm looking at.

I just ordered this on sale…but unlike most I primarily brought this to use with my PS5/SeriesX. I’ve found console gaming on a monitor has been really nice for me and bit more immersive than the classic couch/big screen set up. Currently on a 32in and I think 48 will be perfect for what I use it for.
i'll be making my switch to this monitor very soon. I'm excited

Using a Philips Momentum 55" for 2 years, before that I was using a Sony TV 49" ... depending on your desk size the sweet spot is between 43 and 55". For 55" I have a 90cm width desk and that's perfect. I use it mainly for productivity (Visual Studio), but also for games and movies.
I used to play on my 50in 4k Samsung TV when I first got my PC, and it is great if you get the right distance from the display. I got small portable desk for the setup.
I've been using my 55" TV as a monitor for 4 years, from maybe 2 feet away! Not being able to see everything at once is great for immersive games. However, if I need to see the whole screen (e.g. a 3 hour progressive raiding session), then I simply choose to play in a smaller window! I open up an full screen application that gives a nice blank background, then put the game and discord on top.
I am used to 27" 1080p displays, so it is equivalent to 4 of those; I've never had the 27" 1440p experience, so don't feel like I missed out, though that sounds like a great experience
I have two 50" "monitors" on my desktop. I don't game on them often, but I don't really have any issues with neck pain or anything and I spend hours every day on them. I think you get used to it and the extra screen real estate comes in handy.

I like out the back ports, trying to feel out hidden ports always a pain.
Your observations about games like Forza/etc really highlights one of the things that has been good about console gaming for years and years, being able to sit back comfortably with a big tv and nice sound system. And while you are able to do that with a PC, its always been a much more expensive way to play, especially if you want to use Keyboard+Mouse instead of a controller.
And your comment about needing to sit 9 feet back really does draw that comparison to consoles, as the UI for consoles/set top boxes/tvs/etc are known as 10 foot(or 3 meter) UIs, essentially since they need to be usable from long distance and with a more limited or specific control set (arrow keys and non-generic controls usually).
I'm in the market for a neck injury, beets the 19" monitor I got now. If being to close is an issue mount it on the wall in front of your desk, typically wall mounts will give you enough room for plug ins. I have seen Red Dead Redemption 2 on a Samsung 50" OLED TV and it looked amazing.
From 2015 to 2019 I was using mostly two 40 inch screens as computer monitors. One was a proper 4K monitor, the other was a 1080p TV used as a monitor. They were awesome in everything other than I couldn't really run the 4K monitor for games with the GPU I had and the 1080p was at times too low for 40 inches.
The other negative thing was the size of them, they would "block the sun" and that believe it or not, depressed me a bit more than usual.
Which is why a couple of years ago I switched to 27 inch 1440p monitor.
Having said that I am from time to time considering unboxing again the 4K 40inch monitor even though I still have the same system as 2015, other than the GPU where now I have a 1660Super.
Main reason I am thinking of doing that is I will be able to play/stream in a window and still have it large enough to not feel like a smaller window. If that makes any sense.
Plus, playing cockpit view racing or flying games in 40 inches is something just awesome.
Having said that, I don't know if I could tolerate a 48 inch monitor. Perhaps that is too big even for me.
Though to clarify something, I did get used to the 40 inch screens in a couple of months and size (for comfort levels) stopped being a major issue after a while.
Funny thing was when I actually started using the 27 inch it felt like a toy compared to the two 40 inch ones.
Those ports facing rearward were a major oversight.
I always had reasonably large Monitor. CRT 15" with the 486, 17" with K6-2, 19" with Athlon, then moved to TFT in 2002 with 19", then 28" 1920x1200 in the Phenom days to 42" 4k TV in 2015 and since last year 43" with a Gigabyte fv43. I tried the larger ones but it seems that even for a "Big Monitor guy" 42/43" is the sweetspot.
Gaming is awesome and it is also great for working. I am a CAD engineer and always have SolidWorks, Excel, Explorer and Outlook on the screen without much problems.
Having used a 42inch OLED since April, it's fantastic, never going back.
Perfect size, been using tv as pc monitor since 2001, but I do not sit that close to the screen, more like tv distance. Will get one like this one when it gets cheap enough.

I think my primary gaming monitor is a 35" curved display? I should probably know for sure but I think that is the size and it felt perfect for FPS titles. A 48" flat screen is crazy although I used to play Elite Dangerous and Rocksmith on a 65" 4K TV. That was sweet.
I just got this exact monitor a few days ago and have been playing a lot of Warzone on it. And I absolutely love it. I don’t have the neck issues people talk about (and I play PC). Am curious tho what settings did you change on the monitor?
His complaints are severely over exaggerated. I personally don't get how people play on a 27" monitor. I'd have to be inches away to use one. I too have this monitor and previously was using a 42" LG monitor. It's great if you play games and watch movies/UA-cam. But I'm going to return this due to it not being enough of a upgrade from my 42" to justify the $1000 price I paid for it. Hopefully the 2023 models will be better.

I've got the Aorus FV43U and it's honestly pretty fantastic.
Same here! I thought about going with the 48" OLED, but I'm too worried about burn in. But for a VA panel, the FV43U is beautiful. I also love having a remote for my monitor.
What a coincidence, I just installed not 1 but 3 large 4k tvs for my rig; 50+55+50. For my driving simulators. I also got a neck injury, but that was because of a fall on the ice yesterday; not related to the displays 😀 It's like I'm running 8 24" and 4 27" 1080p monitors and I love it
I tried my 48 inch T.V as a monitor like two weeks ago with HDR on. Man that thing made my eyes feel like they were two rotating stars ready to collapse in on them selves at any given moment
I upgraded from 16 (laptop) to a 27 for desktop and initially wished I chose 24. I'm more used to it now but for anything larger I'd need to sit quite far back

I use a 65" LG Nanocell (4K120 Gsync capable version) as a PC monitor with my eyes 1m from the screen for desktop use. It's crazy but I love it.

Had this monitor for about four months now, and this thing is sweet, perfect size for me, because I am not sitting up under the monitor .
I have a wall mounted 55", and a desk with wheels. For desktop use i move the desk close and mostly use the bottom half as if it were a ultrawide 1080p, with the nice bonus of costing half as much and having space at the top to keep an eye on some more windows. For mouse and keyboard gaming i move the desk back, and for gamepad games and watching movies i get the desk out of the way and i have a couch on the other side of the room. Frankly i would never go back to puny small monitors, at least in that room...

I use 48 inch c1 almost a year now and i cant agree on hurting neck thing at all. There is no drawbacks to size. I would even consider 55 inch display.
I've been using the Gigabyte 48" OLED for a year and I love it!
This is basically an LG C1 48 with some gamer stuff on it. I’ve been using an LG CX 55” for nearly three years as a gaming monitor and it’s brilliant. I sit about six feet from it using a controller. It’s on a medium height tv unit so is the perfect height. It’s a 4K OLED panel with a 120hz refresh rate, G-sync compatible with four HDMI 2.1 ports. What more do you need?
I have a 42" LG C2 as my primary monitor.. Does the job,, that's for sure. 120hz (well 119hz to be accurate) with G-Sync capability.. And holy Hemostat does it ever feel amazing. Though my eyes strain a bit because of it. So i am going to have to get some gaming glasses i think. :)

Right now I'm using a dual monitor setup consisting of 32"(1440p) and a 24"(1080p), both of which are 92ppi and so in the same way and at the right distance anyone can use a 48"(2160p).
Given that you can use other 1:1 resolutions, the difference is that compared to any other monitor here you can choose what format to play with, you will have a frame but it will be almost perfect black.
If you have to watch a movie you can do it to the best of the available technology on a decent quantity inch, if you have to work you can do it on a huge work area and if you need a good gamut you have it.
The only real limitation is having to keep to a brightness of 100-150 cd/m2 for safety, which is enough for working in a normal office and especially for gaming in a "cave."
EIZO says: in an office with normal brightness of 300-500 lux, the display brightness should be adjusted to around 100-150 cd / m2.
There is no such thing as a monitor that is too large, but there are noobs who play or work at the wrong distance...
I literally JUST got this monitor and I do a lot of PC gaming, (except rn because Ragnarok is out), and I love it with everything in me. I will say however that I don't have it as close to me as Dawid does.
I own a 42 inch LG C2 and for me its the sweet spot. Only thing is i lose my Display port but i use HMDI 2.1 for my Ps5 and 6900XT still support G sync and Free sync.
quick calculation (with a measuring tape).. my 50 inch neo qled screen at 3.5' away has the angular size of a 32" screen at about 2.5' distance.
you can scale any game to any size, letterbox, windowed node black bars, you get the point. even setting it up to be ultrawide. that is the benefit from having a big screen, the drawback is the low pixel density. and you pay for the size which you can only use in some cases.

15 cm phone screen in hand is same angular field of vision as 24 inch monitor on a table or 55 inch tv few meters away... approximately.
I use a 48 C1 as a monitor. Kinda wish I waited for the 42 but I'm used to it now and can't go back to my ultrawide
I've used a 42 inch curved TV for 6 years as my PC monitor. Recently got a new 42 inch that wasn't curve to replace it and the left and right sides are just too far from me, decided it may be too big. I returned it and "downgraded" to 32 inch but it is not that different and I am still happy
Agreed that it's not great to use a screen that's over 40 inch unless you sit really far away.
I personally use a 42 inch TV and often find myself watching media from further away than PC use. It's just that smaller (especially TV) screens just don't seem to come with the features that I really want :(
When I first got my Samsung 49" super ultrawide curved monitor I thought the same thing. But within a few days I stopped getting a stiff neck or headaches from never moving my head. Been 2 years now and I can't imagine not having it. But I wish it was bigger.
Anytime you change your physical movement and start using muscles you normally wouldn't use of course that will hurt but once you build up those muscles you be golden and never want to switch back. I've since added 2 additional 28" 16:9s on each side for 11' of monitors. And if they come out with an affordable 75-130" 32:9 I'll buy that!! You really need to use it for a minimum of 3 weeks then give your opinion. A day or two and your neck will be sore
