Thanks for mentioning Traktor! It's like people are forgetting about it and it's STILL an amazing piece of software! OK,,Native Instruments is not the most "up to date" company right now but I still believe they're going to come back with a new "engine" and blow us away! Am I a dreamer? Time will tell. C'mon Native Instruments,,,get your shit together!!
I can afford record pools but can't join them, because they ask for information that a only professional DJs who are already doing gigs can answer. So i have to stick to streaming music from soundcloud, so there for i can't do any gigs for now unless they have some strong wifi.
I am experimenting with recording my mixes right now, a possible way to make this process more efficient is to use OBS studio to set up all of your video sources/mixing software into one frame, then recording everything already baked together. Saves a lot of time on the back end editing and allows for some interesting picture-in-picture looks and layering :)
@@fifeladdie1536 If U want to use your Iphone (or an android phone) there are plenty of apps available for free and easy to integrated in OBS as I pretty much do it myself. I’m using this time away from work to take online dj courses and putting together mixes to upload on MixCloud. Just received my MacBook that’ll be fully dedicated to DJing. Just hustling my butt off
It cost almost nothing to get into live streaming. Everyone has a phone in their pocket, and all you need is an iRig2 to get started on twitch, youtube, IG, etc. Video editing is something very few know anything about.
I heard snap downloader was good. I would buy it with single use gift credit card. That way they can’t accidentally charge you again and again. Not Saying they would but some online companies do. Also, SoundCloud is a paid service. Don’t know if it was back then, but I assume it was? Thanks for the great info and any advice.
I also Ripped music out from UA-cam and Soundcloud when I was starting which I felt guilty about. I threw away those Ripped music already. What I would suggest is to get Bootleg Packs which are also free and the sound quality is way better. Speaking of Sound Quality, I would recommend an application called "Spek" for you to check the sound quality of those tracks that you got from Bootleg Packs. After that, I had a Free Trial from BPM Supreme (Yes, They give Free Trials for new potential customers!) I stuck with them for almost a year and now that I have collected a decent amount of music I now buy music from Beatport.

This gives life to my channel - a sense of purpose to teach techniques and tricks. So in my case, the more, the merrier!
@@djcarlo Thanks for sharing your perspective. I will keep that in mind when I make my decision.
What video editing software do you use to post recorded live mix sets?
Final Cut Pro 🥳
Hey Carlo , what do you think of the pioneer DDJ SX2 ?
Thanks for mentioning Traktor! It's like people are forgetting about it and it's STILL an amazing piece of software! OK,,Native Instruments is not the most "up to date" company right now but I still believe they're going to come back with a new "engine" and blow us away! Am I a dreamer? Time will tell. C'mon Native Instruments,,,get your shit together!!
Hoping for that too! It's always awesome when companies innovate! Thank you for watching! Woot woot!
DJ Carlo Atendido My pleasure!!
Dj Carlo, what is the name of the software you use to mapping the video?
I can afford record pools but can't join them, because they ask for information that a only professional DJs who are already doing gigs can answer. So i have to stick to streaming music from soundcloud, so there for i can't do any gigs for now unless they have some strong wifi.
Well, I would recommend trying to just skate around those by filling up the answer sheets with random information. Don't keep yourself bound by wifi!
What kind of tripod do you use?
Benro. I just bought from online!
Your videos are so far the best 🎉
Thanks buddy! Just trying to educate and entertain with the videos!
Whats the ddj controler used in 1:34?
Hey, bud! All the gear is in the description box! You can check out the links! :)
Great tip! I can't wait to try that by myself too!
Ryan - do you have videos? I am learning OBS and want to use my MacBook Air camera and iPhone 8 to record my sets but finding it difficult?
@@fifeladdie1536 I am practicing a few mixes right now to record, I'll definitely drop the links when they are all set
@@fifeladdie1536 If U want to use your Iphone (or an android phone) there are plenty of apps available for free and easy to integrated in OBS as I pretty much do it myself. Also if you want a cheap and useable option for a camera U can always get a $50 action cam and use as a webcam. With that setup I created this www.twitch.tv/videos/619867576
UA-cam, Facebook etc will take down or block a video with any copyright music in it no? I tried to make videos a whole ago and they would get flagged and noone saw them. Has something changed? I know it's diff for people with tons of followers
Not different if they follow my UA-cam guide! Search it up :)
What software you're using for video editing sir?
Final Cut Pro, bro!
How do you get around the copyrights for your mixes you upload on UA-cam
Ohhh I made a video abouttt it! You can search it on my channel!
what program did u use to overlay the rekordbox recording with your live video and how did u get it to sync up?
Which program do you use to combine your three files together?
How to do mapping on virtual dj8??
Ohh! I can make that content on my future videos - mapping in general!
I’m using this time away from work to take online dj courses and putting together mixes to upload on MixCloud. Just received my MacBook that’ll be fully dedicated to DJing. Just hustling my butt off
Good for you! And enjoy your MacBook!
so what about virtual dj software didnt here you mention any thing about it, whats up with that?
Hmmm. Maybe I'll make a video about next! Thanks for suggesting! Peace!
what is the name of the editing software at 1:40 please ? anyone? thanks in advance :)
That's Final Cut Pro! Great software! :)
@@djcarlo thank you so much, your videos are so helpful 🙏
It cost almost nothing to get into live streaming. Everyone has a phone in their pocket, and all you need is an iRig2 to get started on twitch, youtube, IG, etc. Video editing is something very few know anything about.
That's true Matthew! But I do feel like there's a lot more to be gleaned from video editing in the long run.
These tips were on point tbh!
Nice track list. Keep up the good content
Appreciate it! Thanks for the support!
Your lessons are the best we use them with all our students. Thanks for being real about everything!
Awwwww! This is awesome! Thanks for sharing them to more folks! Glad you like them!
I believe it still is, but I've gotta check again. It's been a while since I've put anything up on Soundcloud
What tripod is that you used for your iphone?
Time to upgrade my controller, any suggestions?
everytime when i see your a new videos, i learn something new about djs.. thanks dj carlo .
Happy to hear that! My pleasure!
Garry Malalo-an Spek means bacon in Dutch lmao
Nice recommendations!
@@subele_music Yo! I didn't know that. I actually spent two years of my childhood in Rotterdam and I can't recall coming across that word. That's something good to know though. Bedankt! :-)
Garry Malalo-an oh leuk! graag gedaan!
Thank you Carlo! This is exactly what I was thinking. I've been learning to DJ since 2017 but haven't really done any official gigs. Mostly made mixes which have been pretty well received. I've gotten formal instruction & gotten a lot better. My plan was to really get out & pursue it more but covid hit. Twitch seems a little tacky in some sense & I wanted to get more creative & I personally find more interest in the live/recorded mix sets on youtube. Thanks again! Your videos are super helpful.
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your experience! Glad this content helped you out! Cheers!
To get more field experience. Hit up friends and family and offer to Dj the next BBQ or backyard birthday party.
Great for the summer. And just think once the beer and wine is flowing they will think your a Dj god. lol.
Since your starting out. You might find yourself busy for the first summer. Its what I did as a 16/17 beginner. That was 35 years ago.
Its the same advice I've given to the guys I've helped in their startup.
Cheers.
Good luck.
You are an amazing Videomaker, i love you studio!! wow
Thank you so much 😀
@@djcarlo Please, im also a videomaker and deejay
How should I record the sound while live streaming so as to make the sound quality better?
Please what software do you use for editing videos?
Big fan man I do afro beat and you teach me allot ... Am still to learn scratching with a fader ...I have been watching your tutorial videos a bunch ...
Love from Cameroon
Can you recommend me any type of dj controller that supports rekordbox and head set please!! I have learnt to dj but dont have any controller or head sets...
can u explain more about putting the cue point 32 bts before
Ohhhhh! I might do a follow up on this regarding preparation of cue points!
I gotta ask, what type of editing software do you use? cause I'm still stuck on that thought.
i use all!
@@djcarlo all? Is that the name of the editing software?
Use youtube-dl. It is command line based, but it can get you the best quality out of youtube. Also, you can download playlists.
How do you get the overhead shot of your decks? I've tried with a normal iphone tripod but can't seem to get the angle right (and it's usually in the way of my computer)
Try using a camera tripod and attaching a phone holder to it! You may need to play around with the arrangement as well of your DJ gear with respect to your laptop's placement.
@@djcarlo The problem is I need the phone to hang over the deck and a tripod just can't do that. Do you have a special rig? One that extends out over the deck? Could you maybe post a pic or link me to your gear?
Hey, can I ask what software you use to edit videos with the cool transitions and text?
Kuys Carlo, one question, I have downloaded my music from frkmusic.net and edmfull.com, is that still considered as pirated music?
