Slipknot is such an intense band that’s 100% full on intensity 24/7. I can totally understand why they want to be apart from each other during breaks from recording and touring. It’s not that they dislike each other, it’s just that breaks like that are necessary.

I like both bands but I would say the biggest difference between the two is that slipknot seems a little bit more aggressive and harder both are good and then own way .

almost impossible to compare those bands but i tried that slipknot vs stonesour first album i listenend carefully both bands songlist and with 1 album slipknot won 14-4 ( 14 songs won slipknot won 4 stone songs ) 2 album lowa and comewhatevermay 8-6 stone sour won. now we gonna wait and see audio secrecy. 3 songs we already know from audio secrecy and with third album vol3 leading 3-0. but i have feeling stone sour will beat slipknot in future :P

Personally, i prefer Stone Sour in the studio and Slipknot live. Just because they share the same singer and guitarist i don't think people should put them head to head purely because of that. Joey is not a great drummer!?Are you nuts?Yes he plays fast.But his timing is impeccable!Anyone knows whoever actually played drums.That keeping the beat and timing is the main thing.And doing that and playing that fast is very hard!And also hitting hard is important for metal at least.He does it all and with such ease!

Vol 3 really is a bad mix of Ss and Sk it has obvious stone sour sound, The virus of life is probably the only song i like from that album tbh and it's thanks to the Tattered and torn psychadelic weird vibe/sound it has that makes it more "not stone sour".
