---- About the Pattern ----
The Baby Axolotl is a no-sew amigurumi pattern that features this adorable underwater creature! It is a quick and easy project, worked in one piece. This pocket sized plush can also be crocheted with different yarn weights and fibers to create different looks, such as super bulky blanket or chenille yarn for a plush, velvety look or medium weight yarn in cotton or acrylic for a smaller keychain size.
This axolotl doll is the perfect birthday gift or Christmas holiday gift for animal lovers. It’s also suitable as a portable “pocket pal” toy for kids to carry along with them as a therapy aid or fidget.
The PDF pattern includes in-line progress photos as part of a detailed photo tutorial to help guide you through the doll-making process.

I’ve just learned to crochet and I was able to make this little guy by following your clear directions. Really appreciate how you have the pattern written on the screen while you’re doing it, made it easier for me to remember what I was working on. I had come across some of the other patterns you have made, but this is the first one I’ve done, and I’ll be back for more. The little guy I made this for (birthday present) thought it was the best, so huge win for me!
Thanks for the positive feedback, really appreciate it! And great job making this little guy!
This axolotl turned out so cute! Very easy to follow! Thank you for this tutorial!
Yay so happy to hear that! Thank you!!
I'm working on mine right as we speak😀😀
Your voice is so relaxing
I just made this cute little guy in a few hours and I am in love oh my goodness, I love your videos they are so easy to follow (even for a beginner like me) and everything is always so gosh darn cute!!! ❤❤
So happy to hear it! Thanks for the amazing feedback!
Thank you for the calm explanations and clear instructions, it helped me to wind down this evening. The axolotl turned out so cute

Hey, can I ask which yarn you used?
TQSM for this beautiful tutorial. I've already made 1 for my baby and it turns out so cute although I'm a beginner❤
You're very welcome and I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial! Yay!!
My first attempt wasn’t great but my second was much better! Love this tutorial but I had to slow it down a bit cuz I’m a little newer
Yay, awesome to hear! And nothing wrong with slowing it down!
Mini Amigurumi: An Easy-to-Use Crochet Book with Lots of Cute Patterns - just an FYI a lot of your patterns are in this book
I found the book on Amazon and I don't see any of her patterns? Are you insinuating the book took her ideas or the other way around
The book I found only has 10 patterns
Oh my goodness. They stole my patterns and images! Thank you for alerting me about this. It makes me so sad that people would do this...
They are actually all my patterns on the cover. Each design is made by me and those are my exact images from my blog.
@@SweetSoftiesoh no! I hope you can get it taken down and get financial compensation
😡 😢
Thank you so much! I got it taken down last month, but it looks like it got reinstated again (so the author must've tried to re-publish it on Amazon)! I'm so upset. I don't get any financial compensation, but I want to make sure it's removed because it's unfair for me as the designer to have my work stolen. :'(
Im almost finished! im about to post a video on my channel about the results! ❤❤
Thank you so much for this really easy and helpful tutorial! 💗
Yay, great job!! So happy you enjoyed the pattern!
using bubble stitch for the arms and leg would be so much easier
I love it! And I'm a new crocheter
Yay!!! Good job!
Yay I did it lol You're a good teacher!
yay, glad to hear that!!!
Thank you. Well done. I have made 4of them.
So awesome!! You have a little family of axolotls!!
Hey can I sell these at markets? I will give you credit. These are so market worthy ❤😊😅
I’ve made one with 2 shades of blue velvet yarn and I’m gonna give it to my friend who just found axolotls in Minecraft. I think she’s gonna love him 😊

Amazing tutorial! Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Hey , just want to let you know, in your description where you say what FLO means you said that it means back loops. Might just confuse someone whos new 😊
Oops, that's a typo! Thanks for catching that!
Thank you so much for this tutorial I'm going to be making a short and I'm going to try to tag you in it but I've never done it before so that way you can see

I just got to get my box from Amazon and I tried so hard to crochet it but now that this tutorial worked I am now not a beggiener
just finished! thank you
Great job!
I just bought the pattern but now it says I need google play books or a similar app to open, I hope it opens! Because my phone is so full I can't fit any more apps lol. Can't wait to make this big fluffy axolotl 😊❤🎉
Thank you for supporting me as a pattern designer! Sorry to hear you need an app to open; on my phone, I can open PDFs on my browser (Chrome)...not sure if you're able to try that? Anyways, if you send it to yourself via email, you can probably open the PDF preview on your email app!
Would you ever put all you pocket amigurumi in to a ebook so i don't have to buy each one individually?
I do have a couple pattern bundles/ebooks, one for my Pocket Plush collection and one for some of my no-sew amigurumi patterns! Both are in my Payhip store (see description for the link). But I haven’t added in my newest no sew patterns this year to a bundle yet. I plan to do that when I’ve accumulated enough new patterns to make a bundle!
I cant wait to make this ❤
Yay, have fun!!
Awwww, how cute!!!
So happy you like it!!
thank you for this!!!❤
You're so very welcome!
@@SweetSofties I'm excited for the dragon contest!!! I'm thinking about what colors I will use ☺️
Awesome!! Tomorrow (Feb 3rd) I'll have a printable coloring sheet available for you to do some color planning! :)
Where do you get your attachment tool?
hello. if i was to make these could i sell them on my etsy? xx
You can, just credit me as the pattern designer in the description with my name and site, such as: "Pattern design by Sweet Softies, www.sweetsofties.com"
I’m trying to make the super bulky one and I’m at the point where I have to do the gills.
In the beginning of the video I can see that the bulky one has both of the colours on the gills. Can you please explain how did you do that part? (My guess is, that is the same process like the small one just with the body colour and plus one more row sc around with the dark pink colour maybe?)Thank you in advance! ❤
Hi! Are you referring to the Mama Axolotl pattern? That one is a separate design and has two colors for the gills (the free axolotl pattern shown in this video only has one color for the gills). If you're interested in the other pattern, you can find it here: payhip.com/b/kvOyl
Please note that the bigger axolotl pattern is also no-sew but it's a written pattern (with photo references) only, not a video tutorial.
Hope this helps!!
This took me six hours and 10 minutes. I am so tired.
Glad you like it!!
I can't get the arms and legs. Lol! Those puffs are tricky
Sorry to hear that! Practice helps; keep trying!

arms & body 24:48
Axe oh lot ol
how much yarn it takes ?
About 19-20 yards of the main color and 3 yards of the secondary color!
@@SweetSofties Is this for the smaller weight yarn? Do you know how much was used for the plush version? Thank you :)
😊😊
After 16 attempts I gave up, you are going too fast for me to understand what's happening and even when putting the video in the slowest setting i still don't understand. and this is a huge trigger to me..
Hey I mean this in the nicest way but maybe you should try simpler Patterns first to give you a easier understanding good luck with your future projects
Too fast?! This tutorial was too slow for me. I agree with the first reply ^
Nope. I couldn't get past row 19 using worsted weight yarn
thank you so much for this tutorial, i’m a beginner and have only completed two other projects so far but this came out so cute and is a perfect gift for my friend 🤍. it took me less than two hours and i love how you showed each step very clearly and made the design seem very simple
So happy you enjoyed this tutorial! YAY!
