Yeah. The dudes in the barber shop used the kid growing up metaphor. I think it's less like a kid turning 18 and being on their own and more like a chef in a restaurant deciding to break off and starting his own restaurant. Of course the chef has experience, of course he knows a little something about the business end. But there's a lot of bullshit that the chef starting a new restaurant might not be entirely prepared for. Supply chains, setting prices, logistics, advertising, loans, training and managing others, etc. Kendrick built his career mostly inside of the TDE system, and now he has to keep it going outside of that system. Punch and Kendrick seem pretty close or whatever, so I understand why he might be concerned about Kendrick starting off on his own.

That guy in the blue that started talking in the back…..that’s the type of person you need to stay far away from if you ever try to pursue a music or any kind of entertainment career. He’s looking to eat off of you for the rest of your life, not giving a fuck about your situation or how you feel, because of ‘loyalty’. Be careful. The man literally exposed himself when they spoke about Snoop and Dre, saying Dre still should be making money off of Snoop. He’s not looking for you to grow as a person, he’s looking at you as a paycheque.

Thats social engineering from folks spending decades blurting out their thoughts and opinions for the whole world to see due to participating on social medias like facebook, instagram etc everyone exscuse is youtube is the same or its their only way to keep contact with people which both childish reasons can be debunked. Facebook Instagram Twitter etc are to keep up with others & make people like you. 99 percent of people that have active accounts on any social media other than youtube have false confidence & are suffering from insecurities & mental health issues. Then they pass if off and use the corny cliche "everyone is insecure about something" which they cant prove or "everyone has mental health issues" which is another lie. Its just a big web of losers trying to one up eachother and get noticed by people because the actual people in their life and family dont love them like that. Unloved losers that use the cliche "self love" but eat foods so high in sodium and uric acid, drink flouride water and participate in self harm everyday but use the exscuse that its normal cause eveyone else is doing it.. no normal intellect drinks alcohol or smokes ciggerettes.. thats just fucking dumb and mentally weak.. most social media addicts have to stay high to deal with life cause they lack the hardness and coldness to overcome. The fortitude and dedication to rise above & the dignity and virtue to put what their soul needs first over physical.

Kendrick had such an impactful run to the point where he’s forever respected as one of the best to ever do it. His last album was almost a therapy session where we got to listen to EVERYTHING he was feeling and going through. He’ll always have a strong connection to his fans because he allows himself to be vulnerable. That’s what makes him so much more than just an artist. I hope he dosen’t take an even longer hiatus now that he’s off TDE but I wouldnt be surprised, because he really puts his ALL into the music, and when you have an artist who is so invested into the craft, sometimes it can drain them emotionally. I would love to see Kendrick lecture at Universities about music though, I could definitely see him doing that.

There's loyalty and then there's independence and going after your dream full speed ahead. Michael Jackson broke from his Motown, then his Brothers because he had a vision for his music without compromise. They didn't think "Off the wall" would do 5X Platinum.
That was just a baby step for him because Quincy Jones didn't think the next album could be bigger. 30 Mil Platinum plus now. He set his brother's, sister's, Nephews and friends all up by stepping out to complete a vision.

As a Black man (who years ago was on the cusp of getting a record deal in a group ) I know we as a people should ALWAYS try to look out for each other but I've NEVER quite understood why when you are signed to a Black Owned Label (Roc-A-Fella, TDE, Bad Boy etc..) people feel like who ever runs the label is supposed to know everything about your personal life even after you've left the label. 🤷🏽‍♂ Artists leave Record Label's/Entertainment companies everyday sometimes quietly sometimes it becomes a major story but when it's a Black artist it becomes Front Page news/Social Media's Top Story & then people are looking to see if any drama was involved. Mariah Carey left ROC Nation & people were saying /asking if there was drama between her & Jay which she quickly put to rest. Black Rob (RIP🙏🏽) got really sick, died & the 1st thing people said was "Puff should have helped him out". What if Puff had no idea of how dire the situation was? I just don't understand it!🤴🏽✌

Honestly, the issue is with the black people that run those companies. They make it a point to say white record execs don't care about black artists and that will treat our people better. Then they go and operate the same as every other company. They asked to be held to a different standard then get upset when it happens. All they have to do is stop using pro-blackness to market to us.

Just gotta grow up alittle get educated and stop being naive... cant beleive are still so clueless why this is a issue in the black community... the images of blacks is and always will be distorted until black people learn what the fuck being black is.. 99 percent of blacks are confused about what black is and no blacks can agree what blk is.. therefore any social ideals can be added to indoctrinating black peoples perspective on all things, no other race is confused or divided about their identity. When you dont know who you are they wont know either and if they dont know then they can paint your canvas however they choose. Its easy to say black labels are bad if blk labels dont have no identity and the people dont know any better.

There's way too much talk from the panel in this particular clip little-dogging Kendrick. He is a grown ass man capable of making his own decisions after 18 years in the business, and he earned the right to go his own way if he wants to expand in an area that differs from Top Dawgs vision. Punch has the right approach and understands that process. What he was trying to say is that sometimes the vision changes between partnership in music or family, so the one who aspires a different outlook of change will go in a different direction, yet at the same time, their connection is tight, to where they can always check up on each other, and ask for a favor if need be. Just because you come in with someone, doesn't mean that you automatically have to always walk lock-step with them regarding their movements, come on now. Bigga talks way too many absolutes regarding nuanced situations. I support most about the show, continued success brothas, but keep in mind Kendrick isn't 20 years old, with only 1-2 years in the industry.
