This concludes the 300 series of videos, I may do another on the second movie at a later stage. Let me know what other ancient times movie you would like to see a video of. I am already working on a few scenes from Troy.
You could get a lot of content from the gladiator reactions if you’re looking to stay with that type of film
@@MrChatsarecool For sure, I'm actually working on Troy at the moment as well as one Avengers scene focusing on Hulk, but Gladiator 1 and 2 are on my list. Love those type of movies, but alas, I need to get to other stuff as well, busy with some superhero stuff and some current times action videos like Taken as well. Lots to get to. Haven't even touched fantasy movies like LOTR and HP yet. All in due course.😄
@@WeWatchTheWatchersah nice one, Troy is a great shout! The lotr films have loads of really good reactions too, looking forward to that. And taken is obviously a classic. Kind of similar one to taken that would be good is law abiding citizen, such an underrated film but I love it and the reactions to it are always gold as well!
@@MrChatsarecool 🤔🤔🤔Hmmm, law abiding Citizen, you know what I've never even watched that movie, will put it on my reaction channel first as a first time reaction before I do a compilation commentary on it.
@@WeWatchTheWatchers That would be brilliant! Apologies, I can't see the name of your own reaction channel handle, could you share the name of it so I can check it out?
“You there… Ephialtes… May you live forever”
“The enemy outnumber us 3 to 1… good odds for any Greek” most badass line ever
What a moment in that movie and you could see Ephialtes understood and felt shame.
@@WeWatchTheWatchers Ephialtes in greeks , means ....Nightmare
12:33 Back then Sparta had 2 kings; one was in charge of the army, the other in charge of the administration on Sparta - one went to war leading the army, the other stayed back to run Sparta. If I'm not mistaken every couple of years or so they switched roles. Leonidas was an old man in his 60's and he was still piling enemy bodies at his feet. The last day of the battle he was killed and the enemy tried to take his body, but the surviving Spartans fought like devils and got his body back. The last group of the Spartans protecting his body were killed with arrows because the Persians were so friggin' scared to get close. There was a Spartan law that forbid a Spartan to show his back to his enemies and this law was engrained into them from childhood - so running away from a fight was not allowed or even considered.
Also the Athenians were pretty dang good at war too; If Sparta was 100%, Athens was 99% and the Athenian army was larger.
I suppose if you have a 2 king system, you could afford leading the army from the front without risking total breakdown of government if he gets killed. They had some nifty ideas, those Greeks
you are correct my friend, and by sacrificing himself he made all greek kings part of this war due to a arrengement they had with the alliances and all, so by sacrifing his life he knew i was achieving victory for all the greeks.
î love the end with 10000 and the fight roar. this film is a masterpiece
Goosebumps moment for sure
Truly, i've always said that if the Armed Forces had a booth at the exit of this movie, it would have been record number enlistments
Surprising how many watchers didn't know the story and actually thought the 300 could win against those odds. When I was small and complained about some thing/anything my mother would say , go tell a Spartan.
So all you people have to understand on that point, that it wasn't just a sacrifice, It was a strategic plan. Delaying the enemy until the other greeks prepared for the finale battle. Now you know. search in wiki on how xerxis give up his plans of dominating Europe...
Yeah the Spartans were only a small part of a Greek army of several thousand. Once the Persians found the path to flank the Greeks the Spartans volunteered to a rear guard action to buy time for thd rest of the army to escape and fight agajn.
Truth. At that time, every city was its own country. So King Leonidas chose his plan to give the Greeks time to unite.
Don't put too much trust on Wikipedia..
They always made mistakes like a year or date..
Especially for education just read the real book
Nice editing man ,nice video .
Thanks, Appreciate it!
Saying King Xerxes was throwing Diddy parties is wild😂😂😂😂
Seems Xerxes was the OG of the Diddy parties. LOL
Great video and nice reactions of the reactors, really good stuff mate
Thanks man, appreciated. Stay tuned.
If I remember correctly, King Leonidas was 60 yrs old and fought like a beast. 🔥💯
One badass Grandpa
you are doing great job!! keep it that way!!
Thanks, will do.
The guy standing last be like ,what are we cheering and yelling for 😂
Hahahahahahaha
This was a wonderful work of you. Really you did a great job collecting and analysing the responding of all these guys whached this movie. So please let me say a few words about the greek history and the Greeks themselves. 3000 years have passed telling these glorious stories from parents to kids, constructing the greek dna as solid as it is. Make them feel that a true patriot have to honour and behave like his ancient ansestors. In other words, this is why the Greeks are soo "greeks"! ❤😊
Thank you very much.
I like you actually watch the watchers.... I've had this same idea for years. Re act to reactions... I appreciate you showing your face on your compilations..
Thank you. I love doing these videos. I think we should react to reactors. Some of them have become like celebrities. They give opinions and show emotion, people are interested in discussing the reactions of the reactors, I think. I always try to be respectful to the reactors, this is not a channel to insult them. So I give commentary on the movie as well as on the reactors and invite my fellow watchers (you) to share their thoughts as well.
@@WeWatchTheWatchers Keep doin this. Ignore the yanks and plast ic yanks, telling u what to do and not do.
David Wenham is so underrated in my opinion. Love him in everything he is in and was so surprised to learn he played Audrey in Moulin Rouge lol
Oh, this was so much fun to watch from an observational standpoint. Of course, the history is a different kettle of fish entirely.
Excellent watch, and well done.
Thank you, yes, an entirely different kettle of fish indeed Sir, quite so. This particular movie of course finds it's roots and main inspiration in a Graphic Novel of the same name written and illustrated by one Mr. Frank Miller, more so than in the annals of History. Thank you for watching.
@@WeWatchTheWatchers Yes, I am aware of that. I know the graphics novel, and I first read it back in 2000. 300 by Frank Miller is available these days for free on the Internet Archive, just like some things.
He'll have you fighting grizzly bears 😂😂
Fan fact: Spartans had always two kings..for a reason 😊
Well, that is indeed a weird and wonderful fact. Solves the king getting killed and Country being left without a King issue.
Imagine you're one of the thousands Spartans but at the very back of the line. You can't hear anything. Lmao
LOL, yeah. Just do what the guys in front of you are doing. By the time you get to the front, the fight is over.
Farimir been fighting everywhere middle earth and Greece.
LOL
People don't realize the real Leonidas was about 60 years old... and he fought in the front line for nearly 3 days. If that doesn't speak to Spartan conditioning, idk what does.
For tonight we dine in hell 😮😮😮😮that sends chills to my spine
The Athenian general Themistocles had the idea of holding the Persians both in land in hotgates and in sea at artemisium. The Athenians sent all their army in the ships to fight, that's why they were no Athenians in hotgates. The Spartans were supposed to send all their forces to hotgates, but at last minute they decided to defend Sparta at Corinth and let Athens burn by the Persian army because of hate against Athenians. Leonidas was a man of his word and took his bodyguards with him to hotgates, forcing (with his death) the rest of Sparta to join the Greek defence as one army under a foreign enemy
Very interesting. Seems the Ancient Greeks weren't very chummy with each other at all
You are confused. And Themistokles was a politician not a general
They were all willing to die, just to get out of those berry crunchers.
LMAO, hidden plot point right there.
King Had to die so the army could be mobilized
Just point me at a wall you want me to run through
LOL, Gerard Butler owned this role.
Still stop them for days
It's one of p Diddys !
LOL
Can a God bleed?
If his name is Xerxes, then apparently yes😀
Side note... Historically, the Persians actually were the Bastians of liberty at the time.. the Greeks were very elitist and Greek centered. To partake in and benefits you had to be Greek.. but the /Medes/Persians would essentially let you continue as you were, so long as you paid the tax.
The Greeks would subjegate you to their lifestyle. The medo Persian just said pay up, and do what you want.
You didn't just have to be Greek, they had class systems within their own societies. Only the upper classes were allowed to go to the Agoge and become Spartans, for example. They were very classist. However, one should always be careful of presentism. Judging people who lived thousands of years ago by today's morals is considered an error.
Moreover, these videos focus more on the movie 300, based on the Miller's graphic novel. As you say, "side note" Exactly, the historical accuracy and relevance is just that when looking at a movie like this, a side note, many people don't like it, I understand why, they want movies to be historically accurate, but they never are.
So I just try to focus on the movie as a work of fiction and only reference the actual historical accuracy as a side note and point of interest, not as a lens through which to criticize or judge the movie.
At 480 b.c Persia was a huge empire. Greece was a small country. Yet the Parthenon was allready build. The arts and philosophy were at their best. Democracy was been bormed at that time. Our army was really strong. We didn't need any god-king up on our heads. When you got Socrates, Plato and Aristotle you don't need anyone to show you the "path". And definitely you don't need anyone to tax your money. Imao.❤😂 13:04
Now you know where diddy got the idea
LOL, damn Xerxes
