      @@TheFreedPerspective They asked me why I chose the field. Than they asked me to give an example of resolving a conflict at work or school environment. Than they asked me what my future plans are with counseling/ therapy. They also asked what I know what different cultures. I honestly was so tapped in I don’t remember much I would have to sit and really think. It was 10 questions. Look up Navigating Academia he has great interview videos for grad school

      @@kdcounseling That’s very helpful! When they asked you how to resolve conflict did they give you a particular scenario or you just had to talk about win win scenarios? Thank you!

      @@Mountain_Spirit I just talked about how I would resolve a conflict at work. It doesn’t have to be a win win scenario

    Love your channel! I'm finishing up my BS in Psych, and I have my eye set on a program to become an LPC-MHSP. Your videos are so helpful as I prepare! I still feel like I'm under-qualified--even though I have a really high GPA and have done extensive community service work during my program. Do you have any insight into the things I'd need to do (community service/volunteer-wise) prior to applying to grad school? I just feel like I need more substance on my CV/resume to stand out. Lol. Thanks!

      Hello Alexandra,
      Depending on what program you are applying for I think it would be different but honestly I don’t see volunteering being something they look at on a resume like they would for undergrad. I think it’s strictly how you present yourself and your prior academic achievement. I have also heard of people with okay grades getting in because they are really passionate about helping people. I think you are exactly where you are supposed to be. You got this 😊

    Thanks for this video ! This is helpful . I’m so out of the loop after not working since having kids and wanting to go back to school. I’m also interested in hearing about loans , incarceration , not sure if that was where you worked . These are all interesting topic , so thank you 😊

    I know this is very late, but what did you add onto your resume to get into grad school? What undergrad did you major in?
    I'm in psychology atm, and want to become a licensed counselor, but I don't know how to build my resume.
    Thanks!

      In my resume I put my actual work experience. I’ve work for my employer for a number of years and I included what I do there. I also included relevant classes I took in undergrad that had to do with substance abuse counseling. My bachelors was in B.S applied psychology.

      @KD Counseling thank you. I currently live in Ohio and have done some job searching for when I'm in the middle of my degree and for when I graduate from undergrad, but seriously cannot find any job openings or internship programs.

      @@tenny6020 What are your skills?

    • @tenny6020
      @tenny6020 Рік тому +1

      @KD Counseling
      Ability to multitask between different stressors/stressful situations. Can communicate efficiently with others on a 1-on-1 basis or when talking in groups of others. Seeing others from their position in regard to empathy. I can name a few others but I don't have experience when it comes to working in a psychology-related field, I begin my program next Fall.
      I hope that helps, I guess I'm starting from ground zero😂
