    If I wanted to run my own truck I would personally try to lease on with this guy instead getting my own authority. You need a nerd to get you the best loads possible

    Great effort in sharing insights, but it feels more like advice on how to create a self-employed job rather than a true business. A real business should have systems in place that allow it to run and generate income even when you're not there. It's about building a scalable and sustainable model, not just doing everything yourself. Delegation, automation, and strategic planning are key if you want to build something that can grow beyond just your personal effort.

    Just a heads up on this video, the logistics industry just got hit with a recession last year, and the company that I'm currently working in barely survived (we handle mainly refrigerated). If this is the case, it's best to have a relationship or start a relationship with a company before you move on with anything. Have a plan, and don't be discouraged, but know the risk you may have. Best advice anyone will say is have a plan!

    SOLID VIDEO GIL! Really enjoyed all the information you shared. Would it be possible for you to create and share a follow up document or excel spreadsheet with the total costs for insurance? Maybe share the insurance rates that you're paying from the insurance companies you listed?
    Also, another great video idea might be on detailing the free CDL grants or scholarships that may be available for new comers to get their CDL and start trucking in various states. I'm about to move to Tampa, FL and would love any recommendations for free CDL grants that may be available. Otherwise I'll be enrolling in CDL school through RoadMaster.

    I'm going to make two points here one. You did not mention about California. California has a spacific requirement that you get their. C.A number, which is basically their M.C. Number. California requires individuals that either have. a terminal or home base in California or come through or go through have a CA number which is the equivalent of an MC. Now.

    This is a very general overview of how to start a trucking company. Most of these topics need to be unpacked at length. But hey it's free and it's a good starting point for anyone that doesn't know anything about the industry.

      The economy sucks. Really sucks.
      Too much competition and the brokers are taking advantage of owner operators.
      The good news. Bad trucking companies eent under. But some good ones were drag down with them.
      Owner operators have been continuosly beating out the mega carriers and forced mega carriers to speed up their governed trucks.
      The owner ops guys are making the ultimate sacrifice and calling out the insurance companies bullshit.

      @@anti-menticide I see. Seems like the “split” isn’t right with the money from the Shipper to the Broker/Carrier. Idk. Just always heard that if you had ur CDL, especially if you had Authority, you would always be able to earn a nice living. In part, because the market is so big. Thanks for the info.

    What website builder would you recommend for a trucking business? I’ve heard of Wix or Squarespace but would love to know what you used!

    • @Gill22
      @Gill22  6 днів тому

      I will be a little biased because I built my own software for my website haha. So I would personally recommend that (Truk.ai) and it's what I'm currently using.
      Wix and Squarespace are horrible imo. It took me a month to build a nice looking website and funnel on those platforms and something would break every day on it.
      My Gill22 website is still hosted on Wix but I will be moving that to Truk.ai soon.

    When do you think the trucking market will bounce back

    • @Gill22
      @Gill22  29 днів тому +1

      Very hard (maybe even impossible) to predict that but it looks like the capacity is dying down now. It seems like by the end of the year, we should be in a better place.

      @Gill22 yes.. and a 780 credit score. No accidents... never an insurance claim... very frustrating. I didn't think this step was going to be the one to slow me down... I have bought the truck and trailer outright new mind you... as I wanted to keep my overhead down... I just don't get it.
