Full Short Track Race: Bowman Gray Stadium Modified Twin 25’s (8/17/24)

8/17/24 saw the Modifieds roll in for their last 2 weeks of competition at #BowmanGrayStadium ! Every driver wants to not only get in striking distance of #1 Burt Myers but also get to #BGS Victory Lane! With opportunities dwindling these drivers have everything they had.
Race 1 Summary: Race 1 would see a Myers Brothers front row as #1 Burt Myers and #4 Jason Myers would the the field to green. The brothers got a little excited and jumped the initial start. #1 Burt Myers would jump out to the lead leaving his brother Jason to fight with #83 Tim Brown for 2nd. Lap 18 would see the only caution of the race for debris. This would set up a shoot out between #1 Burt Myers and #83 Tim Brown. #1 Burt Myers would take the win and extend his 2024 point lead at the #MadHouse!
Race 2 Summary: Race 2 would see a front row of 2nd and 3rd generation stadium racers as #07 Riley Neal (Nephew of Sportsman driver #21 Tommy Neal) and #6 Slate Myers (son of #1 Burt Myers) leading the field to green. Lap 1 would see calamity in turn 3 as a stack up would collect #16 Chris Fleming, #14 Trey Hutchens, and #99 Will E. Smith. Lap 7 would see #7 Junior Snow send #75 Lee Jeffreys around in turn 4. Riley Neal would hold the lead till lap 10 when #10 Mike Speeney would move him out of the way for the lead! You can now can him “Speedy” Mike Speeney as he would hold on and collect his first ever BGS Win!
