Back then they'd throw themselves at me, and i shut down , said all the wrong things etc. Man there is NOTHING wrong with screwing up when you're 19 - it's freaking normal. I can't tell you how many more years you have to fix things and fix yourself and make it happen. Lots.

She backed off, less texts, less invites, less compliments, less sex and she dropped the big bombs of "I'm going back and forth about us" and "I'm not ready for a serious relationship"... Listen to this guy, CAREFULLY!! At 49 I use these techniques instinctively because i learned them thru trial and error over time. It affords me the ability to attract younger women (25-38) effortlessly. Too many times guys get real emotional when they meet a girl who have a couple of "friends" hanging around. I tell a girl upfront i don't fight another dude over a girl or become friends with girls either. Also, I'll tune her up with a couple of walk away sessions just to set myself apart from the crowd. Doing this will keep you in control and start eliminating the so-called competition from her life. This guy is the truth.

Don't ask about the other guy, that's so weak. Take our cues when we make it easy for you. And plan fun dates not the movie crap and pie places. We are looking for a "mans man". And don't talk about money. Leave that a mystery, even if you are broke. If we really like you, we will like you, don't say crap like "those drinks were $25 each!".

This is a bit over the top. First of all the kid's only 19; that's young, give him some encouragement instead of shaming him every other sentence. Second, the girl did not "serve herself up on a silver platter to him" - she was still sleeping with other guys so it's not like she was offering anything safe or exclusive or even honest. She wasn't any kind of great catch for what he's looking for, she was all wrong for him. Character matters, and she didn't have it.
