The TRD OffRoad actually has a smoother ride because the Sport model is designed for handling. Whatever you buy make sure it includes the Premium Package. You get the most options including the faux leather seats. And in the OffRoad model you get the terrain view camera system along with the other views. Also the OffRoad comes standard with a rear axle locker. A must if you live where it snows a lot and if you want to get into those rougher off road conditions. Just my opinion. Both models offer a great driving experience with the Tacoma re-styling and upgrades.
I don’t have the hybrid , just the turbo 4 engine fully loaded sport. Been using it for almost 5 months . Yes it handles like a modern suv and very impressive comfort and smooth transmission.. I also own a 3rd gen and I’m very happy with this blue crush sport taco none hybrid.. 👍🏼

I have been driving my 2024 TRD sport for two months now. I'm very happy with it. It isn't this top end loaded version but I have the large display and the JBL sound. If you need a truck for the bed but not to haul heavy, it's a fine choice IMO.
I have an older Tacoma, one of the things I like best is that it doesnt have all the tech. I don't want lane-assist, Apple anything or any other useless feature really. I've been driving 30 years and have never even had a fender bender. I hate paying for stuff I don't want or need.
for the Money..... Id personally choose the Ford Ranger. Its just as Solid and Toyota is just getting rediculous with the pricing, and things like only being able to engage the rear locker in 4-Lo ect ect... thats just non sence.
I think it's clear that Toyoata doesnt care what Toyota drivers want... I know I have owned several Toyotas and have never gotten a survey or anything asking my thoughts. I want to be able to pick the options I want and get money backfor the stuff I don't want. Tesla sorta does this. Toyota doesnt even let you place orders anymore. You just gotta pick from the few already on the lot... which sucks.
THE Base SR and SR5 skyrocketed by $10,000! ALL HIGHER TRIMS increased even HIGHER! AND Toyota QDR is down the drain. Built in Mexico...SHOULD BE $15K LESS! I WAS a TOYOTA FANBOY! WAS WAS!

When the turbo delivers max torque at 1700 rpm there is essentially no turbo lag in the non hybrid Tacoma engine. With the hybrid addition that increases mpg by 1 or 2 mpg and decreases the 0-60/sec speed by less than a second, you lose 500 lbs of towing capacity and your under seat storage, the $3,700 hybrid motor option isn’t worth it. The TRD Sport model doesn’t have near the off road capability that the Off Road model does. 18 inch wheels, All Season Tires, highway suspension and shocks, lack of trail terrain camera view, no crawl control or hill descent and no rear differential locker all contribute to a lack of off-road capability.

So they've gone from a highly reliable V6 to a questionable expensive 4 banger. If nothing else the price is crazy! For me the Nissan frontier is the last V6 (Ridgeline is not a real trunk and the Gladiator is a lemon). My next truck will be a frontier.
Who the hell is in charge at Toyota!? They absolutely are screwing up both pickups based almost solely on their choice of new crappy engines. Ridiculous.
What’s nice with the big infotainment system is that it comes with large icons. Easier to press these with your finger while you are driving than the smaller screens. Also the camera views are larger of course and so you can see better with them.
Nobody likes the 4th gen Tacomas. The prices are too expensive, the room in back seats are too tight, the quality of paint is not so good, the turbo hybrid mpg is basically same as trusty v6 engine, the list goes on…
@ 10:00 -you can easily see the gap on the tailgate to the tail lamp is much wider on the left side (driver side) vs right side. Not even a question. Kinda Messed up for the price they are asking for it. Go ahead and zoom in folks…..yikes .
