A great tour with a consummate sailor and competitor. I have watched several Medallia "tour" videos and this one seemed least rushed, most natural one. As I follow Pip as the 2024 Vend'ee Globe proceeds, it is really nice to look back to a time when she was under at least a little less pressure. I can't believe the Yachting Monthly reporter didn't have some sort of wind protection for her mic, once on deck it was very difficult to hear what either was saying. In retrospect, in one of her tour videos very soon before the start of this year's VG, she said she felt Medallia was about #17 of the 40 boats this year in terms of capabilities and strengths, amazingly, she has maintained an almost constant position of number 17 in the fleet.
How cool would it be if Pip Hare had an offshore sailing class a couple times a year?🤔 Maybe 2-3 “students” for a 1 or 2 night overnight sail...I’d gladly pay a hefty price for her tutorial of knowledge and experience!! HUGE fan! Sail on Pip!
Pip Hare is dynamic. Wishing best of luck to my favorite sailor. Just an awesome, rugged individual and an attractive woman to boot. She is one of very few people in the world I'd like to have dinner with. Phil from Juneau, Alaska.
Pip - you need a new Boat with the Spoon Bow as the new Apivia, Charal, PRB and Borris Herriman boats are up and running. They look spectacular and fast and have enough time to build into the race. Apivia is favourite with Charal
Watermaker has a turbine/generator built in, she has a diesel motor/generator (separate from propulsion motor), and at least currently (2024), 3x 200W Photovoltaic panels on the transom.
watching her evolve is a powerful motivator. Sail on, endure and excel!
What a nice and explicit video.. love, learning about all the details on those boats..
Great to see Yachting monthly back!!👍

Medallia is such a beautiful machine, Pip is such an incredible skipper. Thanks for the great tour! 😁
We love you pip, thanks guys for the video and wish her fair winds with her new aircraft :-)
Hoping this boat and Pip will preparing for next Vendee Globe in 2024
Pip is my British sports personality of the year. Fantastic character in a very tough sporting environment
Enjoyed that. Thank you.

Brilliant, thankyou
"It's quite comfy" 😄
Great video..Thank you! What angle into the wind can the Imoca get up and foil?
Great content on the video, shame about all the wind noise when filming outside, YM should be able to do better with a cheap mic cover.

How does she produce power for the boat instruments and all on long passages?
Good question. Common options would be solar and hydrogen. Didn't see either on the video. Fuel cell perhaps? Or just a generator?
I believe Pip mentioned on her own channel vid that Medallia has some sort of hydra-generator that can drop down into the water

I think the interior would benefit from some nicely varnished wooden trim to make it even more cosy and inviting :)
First thought: How much easier would it have been to change the rudder. :D
What happens if you fall overboard, will the yacht stop.
