    I enjoy the narrative of your thoughts. I appreciate your not talking over music.

      Thank you so much, though sometimes I feel the larger sections of silence. Might need music, but I don’t add any. Lol.

    Hi Michele Just discovered you on here. It's a new learning for me so I'm finding it fascinating how a piece develops. I like the effect of the brayer over a strip of paint - amongst other techniques!

    Watching you work the process “live” is so informative. I think that watching you work is less stressful than doing it myself and allows me to sit back and see the changes taking place. I love this!!! Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing what’s next!

      Thank you for your comment! And yes while sitting back and watching are fine, doing is the only way forward. It took me a long time to realize that. No pressure though. Lol!

    Hi Michelle I have just discovered you on You Tube and your Facebook page and am loving watching your creations coming to life. I am very new to mixed media and art journaling and I think I am going to learn a lot from watching how you discover colour mixing and collage making. I love your palettes I live in Australia and am retired which is how I came to art making later in life. Thank you for being out there and sharing your creative process.

    You asked about knowing when a piece is done. I have found that taking photos of my work in various stages of the process helps with discovering what needs to happen next. When I think that a piece is finished but then look at a photo of the piece instead of at the actual work itself, it is the photo that always seems to clearly reveal any corrections or finishing touches which need to be made! Of course, putting the piece aside and coming back to it days later (as one does during the various stages of the writing process) is also quite illuminating.

    I am absolutely stunned by this art 😍
    I normally makes junk journal but this mixed media is talking to me but have never tried it.
    Do you have some kind of beginner serie? What product is “ need to have” and “ what is nice to have “.?
    I would really like to try but I don’t know what to start with, what paper to work on? Etc
    A big thanks for sharing your stunning beautiful creations…you are very inspiring and talented 🙏😀

      Thank you so much! You can use a mixed media sketch pad, or any type of thicker paper. Acrylic paint , craft level will do fine to start. Modpodge or acrylic medium to attach collage papers. Watch my other videos about how I make my own. Drawing tools for marks. Any images from old books or magazines. I prefer using my own images copied on laser paper because it is better for collage. This should be a good start.

    Can you tell me where to get the 12 x 12 stencils? I have spent hours searching and largest most companies off is 9 x 12. I have seen them used but the links for them were missing. Thanks so much.

      I only use 9 x 12 stencils but I do have a few 12 x 12 and I got them at Curry’s Art Store a while back.

    What tape did you use? I missed the brand as I keep experiencing tearing paper🥺

    I stop when I like the look of the page. Unfortunately that tends to happen quite quickly, so I don't build up enough depth in the work.
    Your pages seem nearly finished to me, haha

      @micheleholdenart  2 місяці тому

      I tape the edges for nice clean finish but you don’t have to! 😊
