- After getting some very necessary maintenance done in the last video, I finally get to do my first mod to the WRX! I install a new cat-back exhaust from AWE and do some pulls to show you guys how it sounds. Hope you enjoy!

Invidia q300 would be a solid choice. I believe we have them on the SubiSpeed website

For now it has a stock J pipe and headers. Don’t worry I will be fixing that!
Fujitsubo authorize s is by far the best exhaust for this chassis

Lol, you had access to a lift! I don't want to hear any bitching about how tough it was to fit or needing extra hands. Do it in a gravel driveway with some tiny jack stands and some blocks of wood and then we'll talk.
I no longer work on my car at work so now I’m back to jackstands. Was fun while it lasted! 😢
To be honest I didn’t really like the sound of the AWE exhaust kits. I decided to run the Invidia R400 it has a nice tone in my opinion and I don’t hear the drone that people say come with the R400.
They have a particular sound to them, so it’s not for everyone! Glad you are enjoying your R400. We have one of those on the STI and it sounds amazing!
When i had my 17 wrx i always meant to upgrade the exhaust. But then i realized the FA engines sound like a clapped out tacoma with a hole in the muffler no matter what exhaust you choose. Just about any exhaust sounds great on the sti though

Really though you would go for the R400. Great exhaust nonetheless
I thought the R400 had too much bass TBH
I love the way exhaust sounds. Sounds like a good winter muffler setup so I don't trash my COBB SS .
That’s a great plan. I am basically planning the same thing, I have a bunch of parts I will be swapping on for “winter mode”

Several options I’m trying to figure out at the moment, but one thing is for sure, those spray painted wheels got to go!

How does this compare to the Invidia Q300? Would love to see a comparison. Any drone?
The AWE will be very comparable to the Q300, both will be great for everyday driving and not obnoxious or too loud

Do you think the AWE touring paired with my grimmspeed v1 resonated jpipe would be too loud for a daily? Too much drone? Love the WRX content.

Nice pops when it shifts. Do you know what’s the decibel reading for the touring with no other mods?
Yeah it pops when you shift between 4-5k which I love! I don’t know the exact DB level but if you live in California you will be fine, it’s not too loud without additional exhaust mods

I'm rocking the awe track, personally don't think it's obnoxious loud at all 😅 it's my daily and i haven't experienced any drone at all and if any i don't notice it.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but my muffler delete on my stock WRX sounds great to me with no drone? I love it as my daily! Hahaha but yeah if I had the money, a more complete system would be preferable.
Muffler deletes sound pretty good if you are just looking for some more sound! Main reason I went for a catback is slightly more refined sound plus performance benefits down the road when I add power mods and a J pipe
I went from muffler deletes to full catback. Imo the axle backs were a waste of money and could’ve gone towards the full catback. Just my 2 cents though.
@@xil3ntkha0s I won't diss anyone for going down the cat back route, but for me, it was upwards of $1100+ price difference, just wasn't in the cards for me. Totally happy with my current set up.

I'm looking to find a cat back with good sound not too expensive and extremely loud for my wrx. "Automatic"

The dealership just about anything from the axle back.
That won't void the warranty.
