    Hi!
    It's been a while. I lost my grandmother recently. It's been an emotionally devastating week for the family.
    Thank you to everyone who felt like something was amiss and reached out.
    Leaving a note about this video that you might find helpful.
    I've tried to divide the video into chapters. It's a long video. I've tried to cut and clip it as much as possible, which is why some bits look AWKWARD! Watch it at 1.25 speed or just consume bits and pieces of it. Allow the chapters to sink in before moving onto the next.

    Hello from Idaho, USA. 🙂 I started my transition 4 days ago, but I've been learning, researching and preparing for weeks. I was so happy when I found you on UA-cam. Your content is so valuable and your curly long hair reminds me of my own and keeps me motivated to stick with it!
    On a side note, I visited India about 4 years ago, and loved my time there! So I was excited when I saw that is where you are located.
    I hope we can be curly girl friends! 🙂 Thanks again for all your amazing curly girl content! ❤

      Btw there's this song called Idaho that I was obsessed with when I was younger!

      @@MichelleManuel Can we use hair butter instead of live in conditioners?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 роки тому +1

      Ok so let's understand,
      What does a butter do?
      It seals the hair and protects against moisture loss.
      But does it go into the hair cuticle and nourish it from within? No!
      What does a leave in conditioner do?
      It gives your hair moisture, it gives you hair protein. All of this is able to penetrate the hair cuticle. Why? Because it is formulated in a cosmetic lab by a chemist/product formulator who is able a create a formula in which ingredients are of the right molecular size and weight to be able to penetrate the hair shaft.
      Do can a butter substitute a leave in conditioner? No. It can aid in locking in moisture but it does not give moisture by itself.
      If you want to understand this fully, have a look at my protein moisture playlist.

Ok, I have 2B type hair now I got to know..... I really liked the way how you explained the CGM for Indian beginners. Thank you so much. A cgm routine does take a fair bit of time.
      But you can do a simple rake and scrunch and do leave in + mousse. You'll be able to be done with your routine very quickly. It will take maybe 10 mins extra compared to your normal wash day. I think you could try it once and see if it works for you. But I also understand the time struggles for a new mum. Sending you the best. ❤️

    Hi Michelle. Is it okay that I condition my hair lightly before I wash in order to remove product buildup? This is what I had learned in the past few years. I still condition again after washing. All I use is a leave-in curl styling cream as well as a deep penetrating coconut oil serum mostly for extra hydration and frizz but mostly just toward the ends of my hair. I'll admit however that I do reach for a touch of dry shampoo after 3 days just to refresh underneath my hair only a little on my scalp area, in order to eliminate odors and oils. I only get oily at my roots, but the rest is extremely dry. My hair doesn't retain moisture at all. None of the shampoo, conditioner or styling cream contains any of the bad stuff though.
    If you could suggest a better method for oily roots and odor eliminating/refreshing, as that would be great. ❤ I live in a very hot and humid climate at least 9 months out of the year in Texas, USA.
    Thank you so much for your content.😊

      If you're looking to remove product buildup, use a clarifying shampoo instead. It will work very well. You can also do an acv rinse.

    Hi Michelle, I just moved to India from the US and have been following your hair tips for the last 6 months. As soon I came to Delhi, I observed that I am experiencing way more knotting and dryness in the lower half of my hair using the same products. I am sure it might be attributed to the pollution. Can you suggest how to work through this. It gets very knotty by the time I reach wash day and I break and lose so much more hair. Please help!

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  Рік тому

      The weather will definitely change how your hair lasts during the week.
      Try a dry refresh. If not, reduce the amount of time in between washdays.
      Also i would suggest trying products that are more moisturising compared to the ones you're already using.
      Sometimes when my hair dries up too much, i rub some curl cream into the lengths mixed with some water.
      If all fails, wash your hair when it starts tangling up. And follow a good night routine

    What is curling training? Can u explain in detail ? Is there video on it?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 роки тому +1

      Curl training is any method by which you train, teach or encourage the curls to form and behave over time.
      For example scrunching your hair in an upward motion. This will teach your hair to form curls or waves.
      Finger coiling, squish to condish and 2 strand twists are also a form of curl training. If you watch my wavy hair routine video, you'll see me demonstrate these techniques.

      So I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to salon treatment. It's best to ask your stylist if your treatment was permanent or temporary. If it was a temporary treatment, you can start CGM.
