"Inis Mona is the name of an isle. Modern science assumes that the ancient Inis Mona is today's Isle of Anglesey (in welsh still names Ynys Môn), in the north of Wales. On Inis Monda the most relevant druid college of the Celtic world was established. Celtic trives from all over Europe sent their youth to that isle, so that they could enjoy the highest druidic education - which could take 20 years, by the way! - before they returned to their home countries and tribes to serve there as druids. Being a druid was one of the most important, honourable, responsible, esteemed, and maybe also most difficult professions in the Celtic culture, being actually much more than just a profession, rather to be described as a lifestyle, a vocation, a destiny. However, our song deals with an old and reputable gaulish druid in the eve of his life, looking back and pondering over his life and days long gone. Most of his life was spent in service as a wise counsellor, lawyer, scientist, teacher, doctor, physician - in other words: As druid at his clan's chieftan's court. Being content with that, he secretly still thinks back and moons over the years of his youth, which he spent on Inis Mona during his education. Years that have formed his life forever..."

Eluveitie proves that you can combine folk instruments found in a Renaissance festival with downtuned guitars and heavy bass/drum lines and make amazing music out of it.
This is my favorite song by Eluveitie. The mixture of vocals, lyrics and flute/bagpipes just make this such a good example of Celtic Metal. Totally in love with this band!
I love when winter starts. Because pretty much around the year I hardly ever listen to folk metal, since I can never get in the mood. But as soon as it gets colder I start listening to all these awesomed bands again. Loving it!!
+Ethan Goepper Same here. As soon as summer ends my favouritism for progressive metal and rock goes away, and I start listening to mostly medieval folk music and folk metal. Happens every year.
+Ethan Goepper Yeah, I move onto melodic death and folk metal in the winter, too. Normally I listen to power metal and melodic death. I guess it has something to do with being confined in the Canadian winters, and the short days with most of the time spent in school. A release of aggression is nice at that time.
I am a basketball player trying to rehab from a horrific knee injury. Whenever I am working out and feel like giving up, I play this song. It's my jam. I get in a frantic rythym and go beast mode. This song literally helps me push through the exhaustion and pain. Thank you Eluveitie.

Swiss Folk Metal Band "Eluveiti" - Song - "Inis Mona". This is the tune of the old Breton song "Tri Martolod" also covered by Alan Stivell, Manau (Tribu de Dana), Nolwenn Leroy and others
Oh man, this song takes me back a little! I discovered it when I was doing filming for a TV show about Iron Age sacrificial murder, and I remember listening to it one morning on the set, which was a swamp, at 5 in the morning as the sun was rising. God damn!

its funny that come back here 11 years alter to hear this. I was up late when this video uploaded i had just discovered their first album and i have loved these guys ever since they really peaked my interest into folk style metal.
Hector Vitt Thanks m8:) I really wanna to check that some day, hue hue hue;) What music style will fit into that "instrument", any suggestion's peoples?
It was approximatly end of 2009, 10 years ago... Inis Mona was my first Metal Song and Eluveitie was my first metal band. I'm very excited, because they will be in Krakow 3 days later. I'm listening to their all album like I did the same many years ago. Those times this song was only 9 million, today it's around 30 millions. It doesn't matter, how much Eluveitie changes their band members ( greetings to ex members Annaa, Rafi, Meri, Pade, Sime ), Eluveitie's spirit will be the same! They will always be pioneer for Folk Metal! Greetings from Turkey!

Thanking the algorithm of UA-cam that sent me here to discover a great tune for hubby & I to add to our playlist for our #Skyrim hours this weekend & beyond!
Awesome!!
10 years ago a friend of mine introduced me to this song before I dive in the metal universe... Never thought I'll enjoy it a decade later !
Cher ami du nom de Edourd merci de m'avoir initié au métal quand j'écoutais encore du rap de merde au lycée ! ✌️
Signé le "Branleur d'APS". 😉
Fucking awesome! Powerful and emotional at the same time.
9 years have passed, but still my favourite song in the genre. metal lives on!
you see the sweet melodic tone of his voice goes perfectly with the sweet smooth sound of the flute and the bagpipes
14 years have passed if you are listening to this song then you are a lucky person man🖤🥀
the song that invited me into loving Eluveitie 11 years today...I was only 16
Much love from Kenya,
Amazing song, amazing band, awesome concept expertly executed! And you've got to love the angry piping
I saw them live, it was on a pretty small room. It was aqesome, incredible! The power, the energy and all the ppl dancing ther. I want to live this again!!

Rule 34 of Metal: If an instrument exist, eventually a band will incorporate it in their music.
Like motograter
just dont google rule 34 like i did, big mistake
You say that like it’s a bad thing
@@tylerroman4179 How can anything that has to do with rule 34 be a bad thing? 😂
Yo pensé en la página profanadora rule 34
Yes! THIS!!!!! I am so glad I discovered this band!!! There is no good rock left in America, except for Metallica and 5FDP. I am loving this band. So unique! 🤍
its funny that come back here 11 years alter to hear this. I was up late when this video uploaded i had just discovered their first album and i have loved these guys ever since they really peaked my interest into folk style metal.
13 years Listening to this Masterpiece, And It still gives me chills
same! it was even my phone ringtone
Holly shit, that babpipe guy is fucking angry all the time! :O
Go to one of their concerts and you'll see that he's a really happy fella!
Several of the members were kicked out but he is one of the ones who stayed in the band.
several is right, only like half of the band are original members lol
when you expect to play a lead guitar but you end up in bag pipe...

Best folk metal song ever, greetings since Perú.
Go and see them signing this song live! Unmissable and unforgettable! Gooo! Inis Monaaa!
It will always be their best song...
definitely one of the best and will always played when they are on stage
Well, technically, it's not really their song... at first, the main theme is from the song "Tri Martolod".
Yes i know
but they arranged it in ohter ways (Brutal way \m/)
Ahah, right !
Runners up are Quoth the Raven and A Rose for Epona
Listening this one after 13 years when I first heard it. Keeps the morale high 🙏🌎
One of my all-time favorite songs!
I found this band like a decade and a half ago when I was around 13. Man have they helped me throughout the years. Some good music.
I don't think a more literate song has ever written. Metalhead and proud ;)
Listening to this after 12 years and still it hits the same
最近ハマりました。・・・すっごい好き・・・♡♡♡
Codrin Bradea FTW!!!
Always
I got to see this live in 2019! They put on one hell of a show live! Even nicer in person with the vip pass. Awesome band.
This track never don't die.! Greetings from Poland :)
