I don't think that Elevetie realized the amazing power they had with this song. It is still my favorite song they've ever done and it shows their true potential if they could get back together.
i only discovered eluveitie a few weeks back and listened to alot of the songs, it's really good discovery 👍 i like where people review the eluveitie songs, they seem really impressed, even the vocal coaches that review.
i didn’t realise that chirgel and nicole were a couple, i noticed in alot of 2023 footage of eluveitie that chirgel is missing, it's like he took some time out on that tour.
@@gazster he was unable to do a lot of the US tour dates as he had some family thing happen. They posted about it on their FB page, but apparently they still managed to rock!
False advertising. I've walked through the forests of Skyrim a thousand times, and never came across a single metal band. Bethesda's got some splainin' to do.
Anna Murphy Now, now. They're not all bad. My country produces a golden band every once in a while. (Longer then I'd like). But even with that in mind, for a good band to arise from all the rap and mainstream gas that so many breathe in here. It's nothing short of a show of determination and strength in the metal that they want to show to everyone so that we can have more freedom in what we choose to listen to.
IgnisKing rap music promotes violence, rape, and drugs in of which my Queen here and all the rest like her are not screwed up like all the Americans are. Much better than the Americans and I will stand up for them all.
Thank you for this beautiful metal song. My fiance John David Spearman, who has passed away. Loved this song, this meant so much to him. He had and still has respect towards his heritage ❤

"Where do you film your music video's?" "The woods." "Ok very strange, lets move on. What type of band is it?" "A metal band." "Typical. What do you play?" "The Flute."
Metal is probably the most complex and varied genre in all of music. You can make it go with anything and make it sound good. It doesn't have to be growling to be metal. Power metal, thrash, folk, death/black, industrial, progressive, and God knows how many others. Metal has more sub-genres than the music industry has main genres.
+David Maglioli Is that so? I'm a lot into metal and I've always wondered if that is the only reason why I know so many subgenres of it and I'm just not aware of the variety of let's say hip hop, which I'm not knowledgeable about. So other genres are really more limited in variety as metal? That would be sad :(
+David Maglioli Ever heard of Jazz? It might not sound as different as the metal genres, but there are various styles too. I know that you can't compare Metal and Jazz, just wanted to say that.

Best song they have ever done, I keep coming back to this one over and over again. I love the mix of traditional Celtic instruments and modern rock such a fascinating sound.
As someone who shares the same first name, and have been a listener since 2016 (I knew of them earlier and regret not checking them out), I strongly agree
I saw a cover of Lamb of God - "Grace", played by a women on a hurdey gurdey, and a poster of this band was on the wall behind her. I just had to check you guys out. I am very glad I did. I enjoyed this very much!!
Why do so many care about the name of genres? If this is enjoyable then what does it matter what it's called? For all I care, this could be unicornpussykillcore metal and I'd still be listening to the song.
I saw them in a 9GAG post. 3 and a half years ago I moved from a crappy capital city to a mountain city. This song captures the essence of what I feel like up there, there is this timeless like presence of the ancients and everything that was and will be. And it makes sense, I looked it up and only ONE of the layers you might see on a side of a cliff takes millions of years to form. I am not very religious and I don't go to church, but if you want to speak with God, you go on the mountains. There you'll find your answers.
This is Switzerland in a song. Forget about the stereotypical (though charming) yodelling, accordions, horns and cowbells for a minute and go back to the Swiss routes that to this day are still present. Stout independence, loyalty to your ancestral homeland and the longing to return to the Swiss alps. Funnily enough, the term 'nostalgia' was first coined by physicians in the 16th century when Swiss mercenaries became sick and depressed. It was concluded that years of campaigning abroad made them miss their mountaneous home and all the things that came with it - the meadows, snow on the peaks, decent cheese maybe. I'm also very drunk. Xx
Not Swiss myself but I know all too well 'the call of the mountains' (I'm part Austrian through the maternal lineage; part Ukrainian on that side too - don't ask) and whenever I get over there and visit the Alpine regions, I get that feeling that I am, well, home. There is nothing quite like gazing over the valleys on a clear day when all you can hear is the sound of the crickets in the long grass, the calls of the birds and the occasional cowbell - all I can say is that it enriches the soul and lifts the heart in ways that have to be experienced to be understood.
- So it's a metal song? Any instruments besides guitars and drums? - Yeah I was thinking violin... - Uuuu, classy! - And a flute, a harp, bagpipes, mandolin... -... - And we're gonna end with a children's choir. Oh and we need 3 different electric guitars, obviously.

I can say with absolute certainty that I'm never happier than when I'm out in the mountains with friends. Hiking, climbing, camping, doesn't matter. Just so long as it’s the mountains.
Same. I grew up in the mountains. I live in a city now, but a part of me still wants to return there on every possible occasion. Everyone always goes to the sea for vacation and I'm like - "Nah, mountains time!"
@@marceld.7382 Bro it's pretty obvious that this type of music isn't mainstream anymore. Music like this doesn't get hundreds of millions of views just as the other hip hop and rap songs get these days. Therefore, artists aren't much interested in making such music. this is one of the catchiest songs I have ever heard, this is one of my all-time favorites as well such a well-written and performed song.
They are still together. I’m going to see them tomorrow.

Anna Murphy You are one of my Queens of music. Beautiful melody
Anna Murphy Love it. You and all the women of metal over their have America beat.
Anna Murphy I have spoken the truth. They all are horrible over here.

Завжди super. Поважаю цю групу багато років. Їхній стиль, самобутність, це неймовірно.
Metal is probably the most complex and varied genre in all of music. You can make it go with anything and make it sound good. It doesn't have to be growling to be metal. Power metal, thrash, folk, death/black, industrial, progressive, and God knows how many others. Metal has more sub-genres than the music industry has main genres.
well said
+David Maglioli Is that so? I'm a lot into metal and I've always wondered if that is the only reason why I know so many subgenres of it and I'm just not aware of the variety of let's say hip hop, which I'm not knowledgeable about. So other genres are really more limited in variety as metal? That would be sad :(
+Deathly Phobia
Atheist rap and Nerdcore FTW!
+David Maglioli Ever heard of Jazz? It might not sound as different as the metal genres, but there are various styles too. I know that you can't compare Metal and Jazz, just wanted to say that.
You might want to look up a genre called "Classical Music"...
Against the waves, with our swords in our hands
Against the sea, with our backs to the walls
Against distress, in the presence of our enemies
Against the storms, roaring at our faces
A cry rang out throughout the skies
A beckon, the flight of the cranes
The call of the mountains
The call of the Alps
The call home
The tune in our hearts
The song of the mountains
What's that stir, so blatant in our sallying hearts?
What's that urge, that lifted up our longing eyes?
What's that ring, echoing from the leaden skies?
What's that augur, resounding from the lyre's strings?
A cry rang on in the sibilant winds
A behest, the outcry of the cranes
The call of the mountains
The call of the Alps
The call home
The tune in our hearts
The song of the mountains
The voice in the wind
The signs in the sky
The call of the mountains
The call of the Alps

Best song they have ever done, I keep coming back to this one over and over again. I love the mix of traditional Celtic instruments and modern rock such a fascinating sound.
All these years later, and this is still the Platonic Ideal of a folk metal song.
As someone who shares the same first name, and have been a listener since 2016 (I knew of them earlier and regret not checking them out), I strongly agree
This showed up on one of my playlists, I currently have 3 albums ordered and will be ordering more, plus I'm sharing this with everyone
Até hoje não acredito que um Folk Metal conseguiu tudo isso de views! Parabéns ao Eluveitie!

Unicornpussykillcore metal. I like the sound of that.

Ache to be different
Now we need a unicornpussykillcore metal band.
I'm swiss and i can absolutely agree, especially the last term ;-)
The Swiss are weird. No wonder they are neutral in everything lol
Lets just better say 90% of middle and north Europe.
I'm Swiss too, and I totally agree! Couldn't live abroad... ;)
These guys are absolutely 1000% fantastic and i love them
Um... I love this. First time coming across this band. I love the traditional instruments. Folk metal, whatever the label... this song is awesome.
2:21 The flute solo goes so hard and still gives me chills to this day 🔥
- So it's a metal song? Any instruments besides guitars and drums?
- Yeah I was thinking violin...
- Uuuu, classy!
- And a flute, a harp, bagpipes, mandolin...
-...
- And we're gonna end with a children's choir. Oh and we need 3 different electric guitars, obviously.
This song sounds better with a triangle
but no cowbell
Definitely no cowbell!
Listen to me, Gene - I want you to really explore the space this time - but with an actual cow

@@marceld.7382 Bro it's pretty obvious that this type of music isn't mainstream anymore. Music like this doesn't get hundreds of millions of views just as the other hip hop and rap songs get these days. Therefore, artists aren't much interested in making such music. I do acknowledge that good songs with good vocals and melody are still being made but they're not as great in number as they used to be some time ago.
