Hey mate, looking at buying an R8 (probably around 2014) but probably the V10 plus. What are they like in terms of issues generally? Not so fussed about servicing or brakes etc but more the major stuff like gearbox, engine, steering rack etc. Any advice would be appreciated pal 👍🏻
Generally pretty bulletproof. S-tronic gear box is pretty good as well. Achilles heel for these cars is the suspension - check that they aren’t leaking.
@@markalden the mag ride is so expensive to replace it’s scary. Last question I promise, do you know by any chance if you can take out an Audi warranty on a car of that age? Mainly for the engine and gearbox
@@celticfan67 as far as I am aware if bought from main dealer they will offer warranty (depending on the dealer ofc). I got mine from a private dealer and paid for a 3 year "warranty" of some sort that covers engine and gearbox damage. Just in case hehe
