Hi Jenna. Great video. I picked up my R1S (Limestone OC 20"dark) a few weeks back and went on my first road trip recently, but I lucked out and had no issues besides a little range anxiety since this is my first EV. Can't wait for the Tesla network to be open to us. I named mine EVie. Someone else recommended River and I thought that would be cute for your blue. Btw, we were almost twins. I had Limestone on order but committed to a blue once I got shop access but it ended up that it was already taken. I took it as a sign to wait for my Limestone and one came up that evening with my exact specs. I do love the blue though. The R1S is the BEST car I have ever driven and soooo fast! Enjoy your new ride Rivi sister!

Usually, the breakers trip cause the car is trying to pull too many amps, and in some homes with older wiring/smaller breakers/too many outlets on one circuit trip. You can lower the charging amps in the car or find an outlet in a garage/refrigerator/laundry room (if accessible). Usually, but not always, they are on their own circuit. Yes, it will be even slower then 12amp level 1, but its better than nothing. Hope that helps for next time.
GFI plugs are also way more sensitive to over current than breakers, so just lower the amperage from 12 to 8 and you should be fine
Exactly, dial the amps down in the R1S and it probably would have charged fine at the Airbnb

Rivian just announced they are switching to the Tesla connector! That means you will be able to use the supercharging network which is FAR superior to electricity America. Older Rivian’s can use it too with adapters

Technically both Tesla and EA use the same charging protocol CCS, just different connectors.
Why wouldn’t the Rivian RS one have wireless charge?
I think the rivian has adjustable suspension and you can lower it to help with loading and unloading your luggage.
TWRAPS also makes one for the Mach E. Love it, just wish the magnets were stronger.
I’m jealous, would love a Rivian. My suggestion for a name is Belle, like the flower blue belles.
You'll be able to charge at Tesla superchargers next year with Rivian thanks to the new partnership. That should make charging easier.

First thing that came to mind is power soar. They just don't go far enough to take the plunge. If the soared just a little farther like 100 miles maybe. Thinking about it but, Hmmm.

sounded like it was the GFCI trip on the outlet. I do believe they said not to use gfci outlets because that can happen. The chargers have built in gfci. I charge my MachE on a gfci so don’t have that issue but i have read that can happen, but also, my gfci is on a 20amp breaker, perhaps those at the airbnb were just a 15amp.
It's like Rivian was watching this video! Today they announced that they'll be compatible with Tesla Superchargers in the near future!
We have a 2015 Tesla Model S 70D and we had range anxiety at first but we have gotten over it and it is such a nice car! EV is seriously the future and is already so far along and can't wait to see the future. Great vlog Jenna!!!

I recommend just using your level 1 charger at home. It will likely be enough you can always leave your car plugged in. It’s what I do for my Tesla.

How much does it cost to charge the Rivian? I would hate waiting all that time.
It’s worth noting that the EV infrastructure (both grid wise and station wise) will improve with time. Also, Rivian is switching to NACS, Tesla’s connector, so Superchargers can also be accessed starting 2025.
Both EV Infrastructure and EV adoption will only accelerate through the coming years in my opinion.

Such a nice Air BNB. The Joshua Tree Saloon has some great food and a chill vibe. When you were talking about available charging I was like, AAARRRGGHH! The ChargePoint in town! Sure enough, you found it. ChargePoint is more reliable than Electrify America but watching this video hit different considering Rivian is signing on with Tesla to make all their charging stations available to Rivian vehicle owners! Really a game changer. Now, charging a CCS car won't be as much of an issue. Great video! Looking forward to more Rivian content!!

When you showed all the chargers available I had hope that Cali had it down and you could charge almost anywhere. But not the case. I live in a remote area in New York State and the only charging stations are at the Mall 25 miles away. But the State wants everyone to have electric vehicles and electric stoves.

If that wall charger is as heavy as The one our model S came with I wouldn’t feel bad. I always thought that hey should of made the first part of it longer so the heavy box can rest on the floor. It always feels like it’s going to damage anything you plug it into. Congratulations on the new whip!

You need at least a 20 Amp dedicated outlet to charge at the common 110V outlet!!
If you get a charger installed at home, get a 60 Amp 240V outlet or direct wired to your charger, find a charger that will charge your car at 50 Amp so you have a 20% safety headroom on the circuit, so it is not overloaded!!

Wow, that EVgo charging session would have killed me during a road trip. I typically pull away from the Tesla super chargers once my power draw drops below 100kW. I only want to see 50kW if I'm desperate or eating dinner.
