Hi Jim,great coverage of the main features of Godox V860II.is there a way to adjust/eliminate the bib/noise generated by the flash when firing it?Thank you
Really nice review Jim !!! I am considering the FP Zoom Li-on for an off camera flash for my Fuji X-T2. I already have the trigger and the FP mini. As you know, I won't use flash much, so I don't want to have to update firmware and have to relearn controls. Do you have to update firmware? Do they include bug fixes or just upgrades?
Thanks Michael. Godox is good in that they do provide periodic firmware to address bugs, support new cameras and even add new features. But their firmware update process leaves something to be desired. ua-cam.com/video/BRgmPwfPrvg/v-deo.html
+Jim... very nice video , I have a query , I own Yong Nuo triggers so will they work with this Godox flash or do I have to buy Godox triggers ? thanks in advance !
Thanks Jim! Another question. I purchased the Trigger and the receiver. I got the receiver only because one of my flashes doesn't have the built in radio. The other one does. So, when I want to use that one, does the flash have to be set in 'slave mode' to be used off camera? Thanks!
Thanks for the great video. Are those red lights on the front constantly blinking while it’s on and are they as visible in real life as they are on this video.??
And BTW... you sold me. I’ll be buying the Adorama version soon. It seems so much more versatile having this new vs buying another used Nikon SB-800 for $190 which I already have 3 of.
How long would a single charge be held as I’m a hobbiest taking the flash in an out of town travels for up to a week? Can the battery hold up to about a week? Thanks.
Thanks Jim, nice review,, I recently bought this, its taken my photography to a new level altogether. BTW,, for indoor shoots, cloudy day, or night time with the room sufficiently illuminated, what is the suggested ISO ?
I almost always strive for base ISO but low light or high shutter speed/small aperture requirements sometimes call for the sacrifice of a bit of ISO. Every camera sensor is a bit different, so I can't suggest what's acceptable high ISO. It comes down to personal taste as well. Thanks for watching!
Can these be triggered with the Canon 600EX-RT on the camera as a Radio Master?...Also, is the recycle time better on these then the Canon 600s because of the Li-on battery? Thanks and nice review...
The radios are incompatible, sorry. You can optically fire them from your Canon 600EX-RT mounted on camera, but you might want to consider an R2 receiver for your 600EX-RT and an R2 Trigger mounted on camera that can control both the FP and Canon lights.
The recycle time is greatly improved mostly due to the Li-Ion batteries. I never knew how useful that was until I started mixing these in with my studio strobes an no longer have to wait for AA powered speed lights to recycle between shots.
Hi jim. Thanks for your video. I got one of these flashes for my fujifilm xt 2. Was it supposed to come with a charger? How do i charge the Flashpoint DC 11.1 battery? Thanks
That's hard to say because it depends on what power you need. I've never had to change out the battery pack during a shoot, and the manual says 650 full power flashes from a charge.
I have a Photographers' Workshop where I discuss HSS and TTL. It's a bit long but you can skip forward to ua-cam.com/video/l_vZaJfudxc/v-deo.htmlm55s to start the discussion on HSS.
On many Nikon bodies this flash will have problems in radio slave mode. Shutter speeds 1/250 and 1/320 will not expose properly nor can you adjust the exposure with exposure compensation. Word is there is no fix for this problem.
Her we r 7 yrs after ur video and setting ur trigger to 0-30mm was a life saver when I couldnt fig out why my flash didnt fire when too close!
Thanks Jim. I have recently been using it on my A7R2 Sony. Very Happy very reliable system so far. Can't be happier. Thanks.

While the transmitter is on the camera controlling off camera flash, can I still use a flash on the transmitter also? Thanks.

Thanks for the great video. Are those red lights on the front constantly blinking while it’s on and are they as visible in real life as they are on this video.??
James Mason thanks. Those blinking indicators are only on in slave mode. To me they are not distracting.
Phil Weatherley Thanks. I guess it would be annoying as a main but I guess off to the side as a slave seems to be less bothersome
And BTW... you sold me. I’ll be buying the Adorama version soon. It seems so much more versatile having this new vs buying another used Nikon SB-800 for $190 which I already have 3 of.
Those blinking lights are only on in slave mode. Glad you enjoyed the review.
Images by Design I guess that’s tolerable but who knows why it does that. Vid was greatly enjoyed.
Hi how did you change the range on the trigger ? iv tried holding test button whilst powering on , just getting a blank screen .
Sorry im using the X1 2.46 . Purchased on Amazon in the UK

Yes, I routinely leave my speedlights in the bag for well over a week and they don't lose any noticeable charge.
Images by Design thank you very much for the reply.

+Andrew atm yes, it should have come with a charger.
hello . how many photos can you shoot with one single full charge ??

Great Video.. Really Helpful piece of stuff... Please let me know you have more related videos about this product..
Do you have tutorial on how to use HSS on godox v860ii canon?
I have a Photographers' Workshop where I discuss HSS and TTL. It's a bit long but you can skip forward to ua-cam.com/video/l_vZaJfudxc/v-deo.htmlm55s to start the discussion on HSS.
How long battery takes to charge ?
Does flash light screen show how much battery is left
ATM i am using Canon RT 600 so what's ur thought on this

Shoot all manual
I'd like more information about that issue.. which camera's, what result, etc...
Troy Hall I am shooting a d7100. Flash will not fire at 1/250 or 1/320. Flashpoint acknowledges the issue.
Have you tried updating the firmware? My D3300 only goes down to 1/200 and it worked perfect there..
Troy Hall what part of Flashpoint acknowledges there is a problem don't you understand. The d3300 doesn't even have CLS it is a CLS related problem
Thanks alot jim!
