First of all, this is a fantastic video. This is my first flash and I have NO idea what I am doing. I've got this exact same model I'm seeing a couple of differences. Could you please help me? For example, at just about the 5 min mark when you are going over the mm, you mentioned that you could just set it to those two lines and let the camera do it for you. As I am scrolling, I'm not seeing that option. Would you happen to know why? Do I have it set up wrong? Thank you in advance for any help.
Really appreciate this video I’ve had my speedlights one year and haven’t fiddles with them enough. I set a goal to learn more about them so I didn’t have to carry my 600 on sessions I wanted to bring my speedlights instead.
@@MediaUnlocked i can't get my high-speed sync to show up i have flashpoint zoom li-on r2 TTl but it says N before the TTL instead of S like the one in your flash???
Hello, at minute 11 and 36 seconds you explain a function in which you have the active signal and the groups M, A, B and C, but it also lets you use the HSS, in my flash a godox 860II Nikon the function does not appear of HSS and even in the Multi function RPT appears to me. Also in the iTTL function in green on your screen the possibility of using HSS appears and in mine they do not appear at all, the two empty black spaces appear. The CTRL plus does not appear either, where a black ray is seen on the left, much less the HSS. It doesn't even let me manage more than three groups and it doesn't let me manage it as a master, just a slave. Do you have any idea regarding my doubts? If you could guide me I would greatly appreciate it. Greetings from Mexicali, Baja California. Mexico.
Great video! I had a question. If the speed light on camera can be set to TTL while another light in a different group could be in Manual? And you showed that in your video 12:14. Thanks!
are you able to access all those modes/settings if it’s on your camera? I’m using that flash on my sony a73 but once i put it on my sony it only gives me two modes. which are the ones that are shown in 10:52-10:56. If you know why, please let me know
Do you have a video describing how to set up 2 speed lites so the one on the camera works in TTL and also fires (via the radio) the second off camera flash in TTL. I tried improvising with the information you were describing for the 600 but still no flash. Thank you, FW
Is it possible to shoot the V860II on camera in TTL while also triggering the 600 off camera? I know the R2 transmitter on camera has the hotshoe for TTL passthrough, but thought it would be cool if the flash could do both.
I have the same flash, and the screen looks different. It will not allow me to turn of the the speedlight from firing on camera in any mode on my A7r iii. When in master mode as well it wont allow me to control the group settings, the flash fires at the same setting no matter what setting it says on the screen. So FRUSTRATING!
I just got this flash today. The menu and usability of this flash is not really intuitive. It certainly requires reading the manual and watching UA-cam tutorials in order to understand the functionality. I got the flash trigger with it. Adds to the learn ability factor.
I was thinking i could plug a Pocket Wizard into the 2.5mm port on the side of the V860IIS and fire power lights around the room but still have a flash on camera, i doesn't seem to work?
I am using an 80D Canon When I go into External flash Settings OFF the camera t says Incompatable Flash or Flash's power is turned off I would like to use it without the Cameras flash (Wireless) Cant get it to read the Flash
A suggestion for keeping both devices in focus. Put the strobe on the left side and the flash on the right side at the same distance from the video camera, then both devices would be in focus at the same time. You would not have to make any focus adjustments.
Can you try this test? Me and other users have noticed an issue with this flash and the Godox V1. Basically, the Flash when mounted on the camera Hot shoe and set to TTL the flash output is accurate and exposes well. However, when you set the flash to MASTER mode to trigger other flashes , with the same camera settings, the flash out put is drastically lower and therefore underexposing the image. Please let me know. We have been trying to get answers from godox but nothing. The new V1 (round flash) has the same issue.
7 minutes in before you get to how to control the output. Maybe start with a quick start guide so that people just needing to know how to do the basics get what they need instead of starting with an advanced menu that nobody’s ever going to use? Lol
I love the way you explain it, thank you great tutorial ! you have answered all my questions without me asking a single one!!!

I'm a total newb with this stuff, your explanation helped SO much, thanks a bunch!!
Happy to help
Great video, I learned a lot and took notes!
Very well explained! Thank you so much!

Very helpful tutorial. Is there a reason not to keep high speed synch on at all times?
Really appreciate this video I’ve had my speedlights one year and haven’t fiddles with them enough. I set a goal to learn more about them so I didn’t have to carry my 600 on sessions I wanted to bring my speedlights instead.
Jo H Photography & Media Glad we could help!

Thank you for this. You gave me a bit more information than I already understood, being new to flash
Happy to help.
I would recommend this to anyone
phenomenal video buddy! Thanks!
Thanks
awesome tutorial thank you

Camera manual focus is better . I have never had any luck with s1 optical receiver, but s2 always works with a Sony APS-C system.

Is the flashpoint flash compatible with the same transmitters as the godox flash? Seems like theyre exactly the same minus the name.
Excellent overview. Does it control more than 3 grouos? My R2 Pro transmitter handles A B C D E
Yes it should
Very clear overview. Thank you!
Happy to help.
Have you tried this flash ?. Try it and see if you can work the things even with this talk .

It can do both as long as they are for the same camera brand.
Mine says ettl and I can’t figure out how to get it to ttl - any suggestions?
Thank you for a great tutorial. Really explained the menu functions. So many tutorial videos have very poor explanations.
Happy to help
Thanks
That was awesome. Thanks mate.

When HSS is selected on the speedlight, does it set it too on the strobe? Or is there a setting on the strobe?
Setting on the strobe.

Great video. Thanks for posting it! It's a shame Godox limits their flashed to only 3 channels.
Would I be right in saying that at 6:26 High speed sync only becomes available in Manual mode?
I never use it in ttl mode but it should in ttl mode
I was thinking i could plug a Pocket Wizard into the 2.5mm port on the side of the V860IIS and fire power lights around the room but still have a flash on camera, i doesn't seem to work?
That should work but have never tried.
My flash, when in slave mode only has 4channels and I see that yours has 32. What I'm doing wrong?
Why would they make the units called different names from Adorama and B&H? Seems confusing.
Your guess is as good as ours.
At 4:34, the zoom, mine only goes from 14 to 133. Not to 200, and nothing below 14. One scroll past 14 it changes zoom from M to A.
Your little white bounce pad is slightly out. Close it entirely
I am using an 80D Canon
When I go into External flash Settings OFF the camera t says Incompatable Flash or Flash's power is turned off

You can not do so that I know of. You need the transmitter.

I like the focus adjustments, it adds production value, just my opinion :)
