Very neat installation. People who don't work as sparks think it's a glamorous career change. Updating with regs changes and getting work in to keep the buisiness running is a tough job in ltself.
Great channel mate, you should bring the inner insulation of the armored a little into the box so many times I have seen cores cut by the edge of the gland.
Really great videos, presented with clarity. Good product advice too. Find it an inspiration and great way of learning, Thank you. I'm running SWA from my garage to a wiska box then a small section of hi tuff into a controller box to provide power for pond accessories, principally same as what you've done for the drive lights, but couldn't run SWA all the way as too large to terminate at controller, think my approach is ok?
Like the videos but would like more explanation on all electrical connections i.e. Why saw goes into spur and why not mini fuse board, for learning purposes as a diy er who's competent but not an expert👍👍👍👍
Small comment from retired sparks from your neck of the woods (Norbury/ Thornton Heath) conduits should be fully installed before drawing cables :) But love your work mate
Why aren't you using singles?,or is it belt and braces mech protection?,flexible looks good though,I've used PVC conduit in the past,no need for separate runs.I like the way you line the screws up on the boxes nice detail.
People mistake me using flexy as tho i believe it's a wiring method. I don't. I just think it's slightly more mechanical protection to a typical Twin and Cpc, clip direct install. I use this method in lofts, cupboards, behing kitchen kickboards and lofts
Hi I’m going to wire some lights and sockets into my garden gym , what wire would I need for the lights and sockets inside ? I’m having outside lights on a separate circuit with a timer, would I need different wire for outside ?
Definitely Interested in trying out this wireless switch using sonoffs at the moment but don't have the modules that fit in mk plates what sort of prices are they
Hi Luke, did you ever do the video on the software you use to help organise your work load and send estimates etc i think you said it was called triffidy or something like that. Cheers
Is that heat damage or UV damage? Most SWA is a PVC outer and XLPE on the cores, XLPE can't be exposed to UV as it breaks down and goes crunchy. That fitting had a clear cover and it was broken?
I think installing black pvc conduit would have been just as quick and only one tube would have been required if using singles. Nothing wrong with the flexi though, i use it in metal partition walls to give cables a bit of extra protection. Alot of sparks would probably just slung in t and e in that shed so have gone the extra mile.
I bet that second double SWA took ages, just deciding what to do, that looked like a real pain in the arse! Really nice to see all your problems and good comment at the end. Glad I'm not the only one who always feels I'm doing something wrong...
jordan chapman i mean the little flood light. There rubbish to be fair, had to replace one recently as when it rained the sensor was coming on and off with movement from the rain. Cheap and cheerful
My Trusted Electrician - Carshalton, Wallington and Coulsdon Cheers keep the vids coming like the tips and tricks you put in as relatively new to the industry
is it common where you are to use flexi conduit as you do, where i am we only really use it in short lengths, from switches to machines or appliances, anything greater as your shed installation, it would be regular solid conduit.
It's not commonly used as for the purpose I use it for. I use flexi in sheds, lofts and cupboards. I feel it's an easy form of mechanical protection where most people would clip direct pvc/pvc twin & cpc cable.
That's awesome. When I check the stats on UA-cam it says its 99.9% Male viewers. I just assumed the 0.01% was my mum watching. Glad to see another lady sparks in the industry 👏
Very neat installation. People who don't work as sparks think it's a glamorous career change. Updating with regs changes and getting work in to keep the buisiness running is a tough job in ltself.
Definitely not what is was 20 years ago. Everyone is racing to be the cheapest.
Yes, please. I'd like to see the second part of the installation.
Great video again Luke! Looking forward to part 2👍
Top job Mate. The job will always run on a bit with that level of attention to detail.
Another great video Luke, can't wait for part 2 to see the finished job.
Excellent video as usual Luke, looking forward to seeing the finished job.
Flexi conduit work looks brilliant. 👍🏼
After the last shed video I tried out a pair of the little led battens on a job really impressed with them as was the client.
They're not bad for £20. Bloody bright too.
I've got a shed in a few weeks this was a great video for inspiration.
Best sparks channel on YT, keep up the good work!
Looking forward to Part 2, excellent work! :-)
Looking forward to part 2, always tidy and quality work. Good vids also👍
As ever, great video. Really appreciate your time and effort with these. Thank you.
Flexi Conduit King 🤴🏻
I rarely use it but I think it's in every video I've ever done 😅
Looks decent my man! I’m with you on the 1mm too! 🙌🏻
@@DanSeaber-Shinn there was a heated debate at a supplier between sparks who believed that using 1mm was being cheap.
@@DanSeaber-Shinn some much easyer to terminate in downlights aswell.

Can’t wait for second part . They wireless switches look the bollocks 👌.
Another cracking video bud 👍

Tidy work I do like Quinetic wireless range, the Wi-Fi ones are good as well to use with voice control. Good vid 👍
Another very nice tidy job👍🏻
Great video Luke, looking forward to the next one. Nice explanation as well. 👍
Nice video. Love your work, very precise. Tony
Great video, great job, very neatly done
Thanks
Good work ! You are an inspiration.
Great video, keep up the good work!
What size SWA have u ran from the house?
Love the flex tube use I’m going start fitting that too looks the bollocks
I only use it in sheds, lofts and cupboards. I try not to think of it as a wiring method. It's just a jump up from t&e clipped direct.

Agree. But not when using flexi. You would never get a cable in. It's a nightmare to push cables around.
@@MyTrustedElectrician Fair Comment, did you study at Carshalton Collage? My son went there for the collage side of his apprenticeship.
Nice one 👍👍

@@MyTrustedElectrician my mistake ,I've only used it for short runs ,its pretty tough stuff.I normally use adapterflex or kopex for motors etc.
nice job

Not yet sorry
Do you use different size flexi conduit for different size cables. I have seen people have a right nightmare pulling the cable through
loving your work mate keep em coming.
great video, keep em coming!

What screws and washers do you use Luke, for your Cleats and Back Boxes?
does the mk grid switch match the quinetic switch ? is it the mk4881 and 3702 yoke ?
What was the source of power for the shed? Own mcb or spurred off?

With the 2foot led lights how did you get the earth through both sides? I got a couple the other day and it only allows L and N in and out each side.
Top work like always, what breaker you put them on? 20a?
20A 61009/B mate 👍
Nice thanks for reply 👍
What method do yo use to get the cable through the Kopex? I find it can be a pain.
I bet that second double SWA took ages, just deciding what to do, that looked like a real pain in the arse! Really nice to see all your problems and good comment at the end. Glad I'm not the only one who always feels I'm doing something wrong...
Good job m8, nice and neat.
Is the flood light only operated by the remote? No PIR or microwave sensor or something?
The tlc lights have a tiny microwave sensor on the front, completely flush so you can’t see it
The quinetic light?
jordan chapman i mean the little flood light. There rubbish to be fair, had to replace one recently as when it rained the sensor was coming on and off with movement from the rain. Cheap and cheerful
Cracking vid luke, keep up the good work :)
Hi Did you run the power from a spur way on the c.u if so what size mcb and what size was the swa mate
Great video 👍
Db hasn't gone in yet. It'll be the same as the last shed video. Separate 2way DB. 61008 main switch.
If I have a very weak coulour blindness can I still become an electrician because I’m halfway through my training?
I wouldn't imagine there is a problem as long as you can distinguish the colours used for electrical cabling.
Why you put the spur fuse in the Shed ?
Nice job 👍
Ace video keep them coming mate.
Not seen those whiskers you used for the drive lighs before where did you get them from
They're new. TLC and BEW sell them. They have wagos inside. Brilliant box

What is the average cost for running electric to a shed like this project?
Drive light wooden post was rotten, why not replace it?
It does need it doesn't it.

Hey bud you got any recommendations for a decent set of downlights that work with hive gu10 smart bulbs? Seen a few but never used them.
Astro do some lovely downlights
Awesome stuff dude
Definitely want part 2 m8...so how did you manage the 2 swa cables. How do you honestly rate the wireless stuff m8 ?
I pull the fence slats off with a mini crowbar. Terminated the swa and then nailed them back.
Never sweep up they said 😂
Great vid, great job. 🐵
Is part2 up?
It is indeed
Screw head slots horizontal? Surely they should be vertical - stops dirt trapping in them!
Haha. Horizontal scares me. Honestly. Looks like scary eyes
Perhaps a 20mm Y-box for the driveway light... I agree, out of sight is definitely a better option.
Literally thought you had a new tattoo for a minute!
I'm not that committed to shed rewire's 😅
When can we expect Part 2 mate?
What colour is neutral ?
Copper...just like the others :-)
Good job
Luke, love your vids but have you stop filming, not seen any vids recently.
The BBC pronounces it purr'-ga-la with the emphasis on the purr like a cat.

Easy work with good hours is only government work my friend.
Suppliers not carrying enough stock is getting rediculous. Basic everyday items. Wasting so much time running about.
