    Top tip: put a razor blade between the next pin and the one you are soldering to stop the solder bridging the gap, great video.

    That's how you do it after you've done it. It's actually much harder first time round

    Brilliant little info vid showing how to get it done without the “UA-camr” nonsense that some of the others do. Will get mine done when the weather picks up.

    yep...good result. well done. ive done a few of these now and i find you dont need to resolder at all.
    tip over the module so the pins face down (instead of up ) using a solder iron just heat up the base with the tip so the original solder will melt to gravitate down ( no more than 2mm ) and make good contact wit the pins. clean result , and no chance of shorting pins together.

      Yeah thanks! I've never done it before so my confidence was lacking.. I had to use the sucker tool to remove when i did too much solder. I improved as I went along.
      It works perfect now. So I would aay its a worthy result and I'll take it.

      When you say heat up the base mate, do you mean put the tip of the iron on the solder at the bottom of the pins?

    • @lexzenis2544
      @lexzenis2544 Рік тому

      @@jgm910 yes where the original solder is at the base that meets the cct board. But remember it will need to be done upside down to get the best result.

      Thanks for this info mate. Sorry I know this sounds dumb but when you mean upside down, you mean top of head unit screen (when upright) down? So the opposite side of the solder joints from this video ?

    • @YZY_RAP
      @YZY_RAP Рік тому

      @@akhilvarghese2498 the man from the video placed the display on a table so the pins were facing up right? what @lexzenis2544 is saying is, you flip the display, so the pins are facing the ground. You then reheat the existing solder (not adding more solder) of each pin and, since the display is facing downwards, gravity will pull some solder to have it contact more of the pins, thus creating a better contact.
