Jon, I know I may be a "nobody" to some, but fishing the Eastern Basin of Lake Erie, I know a few things about deep smallmouth and keeping them alive. Barb Elliot has it down to a science with "fizzing" fish and keeping them alive. Jon, you have the platform to show these up-and-coming anglers the necessity to keep these fish alive, and showing how to do so would greatly impact the sport.
Yes, I know dead fish are a thing and sometimes hard to avoid (hooked deep, or even smallmouth being assholes like they are), but ice in the livewell on hotter days can greatly help these guys stay alive. Some people don't realize it, but when you kill a 3lb+ fish you're looking at a fish that's between 5-15 years old. I'm no PETA and love to hunt, but fish care should be a priority.

All those smallies should have been fizzed. Anytime you’re pulling fish from 20ft+ they aren’t surviving if you’re not fizzing before putting in the well. Damn shame.

Usually tournaments have a reg that says anglers should not try to fizz or revive the fish but idk
The downside of weigh-ins on shore. I understand that have a guy in every boat that weigh the fish can be challenging, but it is the best for the fish. Fish caught in deeper water and in higher temps, make much lower survival percentage, especially at on land weigh-ins.

So, I get wanting to make money and release quality products, but why does every company overprice every rod on the market? $300, really? I've decided I'll never buy a rod over $60 again. I've caught more fish this year on $20 H2O Express rods than any of my Lew's, Favorite or Abu Garcia rods. Love the videos Jon B, but you guys are getting a little bougie.

Jon you need bleed out the air bladder in those fish. You are catching them in deep water, and then reeling them to a much higher altitude very quickly(expanding their air bladders). You need to burp/fizz them with a needle and get the fish in an upright position.

Great camera skills and editing 100% who ever does the camera work need a beer and a steak.
Cross the safety chains on your trailer so god forbid it does fall off the hitch those chains will catch it. Opposed to the way you hooked it up if your hitch fell off you’d be dragging it by those safety chains except it’ll start tearing up the concrete. Always cross the chains!

Catch photograph release on a measuring board should be the new standard in bass tournament fishing or mlf style. Don’t understand the pint of weighing in fish just so they can die I understand maybe for the bass master classic or something but tired of seeing dead bass after tournament weigh ins.

Hey Jon you might want to fizz the bass if you're catching them out of 30 ft of water. If they're floating up on their sides in the live well is how you can tell.

Some comments RE: NEW product...$300 ? for a rod? I have every gold and green...wont probably buy the elite..too much.($229 is about my limit for 1 rod) As far as the reels go..they have to be better than the Curado DC...or wont buy...(I have 8 DC's) Also...why are you pushing the hoodies and weird pajama looking shirts non stop. As my name suggests... I would buy it if it looked "normal" for an angler over 30...(I realize that is not your "target demographic"...) How do you like fishing out of that Lund compared to a standard bass boat? I'm in the market and looking at the deep V models. I think its the best of both worlds IMO.

Fizz them.... or a better way is to put them in the live well with water about 10 degrees colder than the water they came from. It will condense their air bladder and is safer than sticking them with needles. Plus the colder water slows the metabolism and increases Keep oxygen. a bunch of frozen water bottles with you to cool down the live well would do the trick.It works trust me👌
