An old snow sledding hill that’s been used for generation. If you haven’t made a video metal detecting an old sledding hill you should.. especially since your in Colorado, you’ve probably got ills with generations of stuff buried in the hill.
Oh but my coolest unexpected find was while digging a fence post hole. 18 inches down I found an 1857 quarter. They discovered gold here locally in 1862. So I imagine an ol’miner probably lost it during that era. It’s one of the most minted coins of its time. I was pulling out dirt from the hole and noticed an oddly shaped rock in the side. Wasn’t a rock :) Oh oh, that and an old 3.5 inch cannon ball in a mining cut once too. It dates from the civil war. They had lots of left over cannon balls and for a long time miners would buy them because they were cheaper than milling balls. They used them in tumblers to crush ore. They wore out quicker but the cost made up for it. Super cool history I learned after finding it and asking questions about why I would find a cannon ball here.
about 30 yrs ago: I found a Platinum Ring, and a 22 kt Necklace with pendant, I paid $2.50 CAD for the ring, and $1.50 for the Necklace (it had a broken clasp), and I paid $25 for a Giorgio Armani suit (that fit me like it was made for me) all from the North Vancouver (BC Canada) Salvation Army thrift store on Lonsdale Ave.
Treasure is everywhere! As a small child I found $100 bill in Chinatown on a Disneyland trip in the '70s. After that I was hooked!! Always keep one eye on the ground!! Great video as always Shane 😊
That is Awesome! I once found a 20 dollar bill on a road just 5 blocks or so from my house! :) Since then though I have only found maybe 2 quarters, a dime, a nickel and a handful of pennies combined in the following decade or so. I am impressed about a 100 dollar bill though! :)
In the '80s I found $100 bill at the cart racks at Kroger. My mom snatched it and said put it up quick, she would split it. She bought us food for $80 and gave me $10 and my sister $10. I was bummed. What I owe my mom now I'd be embarrassed to see. That memory reminds me of our struggle and to appreciate where we are and what my own family has now.
Really nice ,I remember when NYC dredged out Prospect Park Lake in Brooklyn ( 1863-1871)...................I lived in the area where they dumped the slop spoils in the 1970's silver coins from 100 years + just washed out ....Not many people bothered with it because little was known about the project.......What a score.......
Panning in the sewers downstream from jewelers in big cities in India is a very common practice. Unfortunately those waterways are also where sewage is discharged. Cool vid!!
I watched a documentary about folk in India doing this & smelting the dust & debris into smallish looking nuggets to turn into cash just for day to day survival ..seemed like an extremely big effort for such little money. I’m sure it all took place at night after they’d been working all day at their actual manual Job which was pretty grim, long hours, low paid often 6/7 days a week & not having enough to survive so had to think of extra stuff to bring in rest of money required for the bare basics and no more ……. I have been a dental assistant for over 20 years, and I have often wondered how much gold I have sucked up when we are removing old gold crowns and fillings. Love this urban gold mining but please be careful there are some nasty things in that dirt
The craziest place I found treasure , was in the attic of an old house I lived in . 10,000 dollars in old trains and handful of old silver coins . Enjoyed this Klesh . Keep up the great adventures because I enjoy watch
Omg thts a Gold mine at a attic in a old house but it's also really creepy it can be hunted ghosts are real I hope u don't get cursed or something be careful.
I love these urban prospecting videos. You need to do a large scale version by taking some good scraping tools and your vacuum. Las Vegas is definitely a good place to do this for sure.
If you where stuck with on a mountain for a month with klesh or dan herd I'd imagine you come back as a wealthier man maybe not by much but you'd have more than that you started with 😉
I go for 5-mile walks around the block by my house when it's fairly cool & dry out. One time while I was negotiating the shoulder on the side of the road, when I happen to look down and caught a glimpse of something golden. I reached down and picked it up. What I saw was the tip of an 8K gold bracelet (marked 333 on clasp). It weighed about 4-5 grams. The ring was broken on it, which is probably why the bracelet was on the ground. I always find coins all over the place, especially at intersections and drive through windows. This was the Second time I've found actual gold. The first time was a 14K gold ring buried in the ground behind my sister's house downtown. It was cut, probably stolen long ago since I have found lots of empty purses and other things thrown over the fence onto her property.

It was like treasure to me!!
I really like this style video Shane! I'd be interested to see you bring your panning stuff with you and do a "Panning Vegas" series.. Could pay for itself!!!! TY for the content as always

Awesome! :) I first heard about the existence of street mining about 4.5 years ago in a book about someone who over the course of like 3 years, found at least about a combined 2 or 3 thousand dollars in NYC alone! :) You are just the second person I have encountered that mines street treasures so you are ahead of the game! :) Great work and channel! :)
If you watch my New York City video, I made a few hundred bucks (in just gold, not counting the gemstones/diamonds) in just 45 minutes. A few thousand is possible in a day, easily with the right equipment and a bit of hard work.

That's so funny, hopefully someone found my sister's diamond she lost out of her ring when she fell while out walking around Vegas. I'm talking a big diamond which she didn't notice was gone till she got home. It had rained and she took off her sandels and the street was very slippery and down she went.😔
I love how he said the first time it rains all the gold will sink to the bottom. only problem with that in Vegas is... they get only around 2" of rain annually. so there is rarely a rain that would be hard enough to sink the gold down.
Hello with that particular diamond tester you have to use it without a glove on because your finger has to be in contact with the metal plate on the other side of the diamond detector you complete the circuit, it won’t give accurate readings unless you do this
I used to scrounge the easy way as a casino dealer. Almost everyone wearing fine jewelry I would compliment them on their jewelry while telling them "if it's ever for sale look me up". And many looked me up for that offer. Where I was known as the Jeweler by my new nickname. I made a fortune at this. Because I knew exactly what a Pawnshop would offer. Fun. I have a great idea for a spot where I can do this myself. I can’t wait
I have a nice collection myself. I'll call it Urban Jewel collecting. Twice a week I make my rounds and I always come home with something
My one brother in Boston used to constantly find jewelry on the streets and then would send it to my other brother who was a jeweler to be fixed and shined up then give it to other family members!
Thank you for sharing an inspiring treasure hunt. Would definitely enjoy more.
I pray God will bless you and your's Amen
This is why ill always travel with my gem tweezers, it makes getting stuff in hard to reach places a lil easier
