The sheer SPACE of this song makes it my favorite Priest tune ever. It just breathes wonderfully. I wish that they would revisit it live these days, now that they could do it even better. They are awesome. The whole SFV album is phenomenal.
I was at this concert.I was 17 yrs old.I first saw Priest in 1979 in Asbury Park NJ.Then 1980 and 1981 in AP(Iron Maiden w/Dianno openers)I still get chills thinking about it.This concert was at Lehigh University. This was just before they broke it wide open.JP was our secret till then.No more small venues after thatHoly crap, what a time!.
I wonder why they never played this one live more than they did (a few times only, I believe). One of their best songs. Great vocals from Rob on this one!
Totally agree, probably my favourite number by them. If I had to guess they didn’t play it live often because of that section towards the end being incredibly hard to sing, even though it’s fantastic, you tan tell Robs struggling with some of those notes and only just get up there even at this point in his career.
Holy Shit I was at this show. It was not publicized much, they were testing their set out before the world tour kicked in. drove hours from NJ with my GF and a couple of buddies. Wow!
I'd spend my days alone I used to stay at home Lost in seclusion there Like I was in a cell A captured heart as well Surrounded by despair Darkness filled my soul Losing all control Down on the streets below Bright city lights would glow The energy would rise And through the heat I'd gaze Still counting empty days With fire in my eyes Living through this hell Can I break this spell Fever. You set my soul on fire Fever. You fill me with desire Fever. You always get it right Fever. All day and all night Then one night as I walked I heard your body talk I saw a shooting star In some magnetic trance Our beating hearts would dance And crash down from afar Oh how strange fate is Never dreamed of this Fever. You set my soul on fire Fever. You fill me with desire Fever. You always get it right Fever. All day and all night So destiny has bought us Oh so close together We were like angels in the night Living the dream At last I'll be with you forever And all at once it feels so right Fever. You set my soul on fire Fever. You fill me with desire Fever. You always get it right Fever. All day and all night
Good God!! I did not know this live version EXISTED. Thanks so much for posting it. I was saying to myself the other day, too bad Priest never did Fever live, and LO and Freaking BEHOLD, you got it!!
+Harold I was 14 in '82 as well...I woulda cried if I couldn't go lol. but my folks were cool (or absent), they woulda let me go. First concert I saw was 1980 Ted Nugent! Priest forever! Cheers mate!!
This rocks, although it's a bit of a shame the tape pushes the song to a much higher key. Rob sounds a bit like a chipmunk. But I still truly enjoyed hearing this!
@gunsdf Unfortunately I don't have the Rock Forever promo - it's been on my "want"-list for quite a long time but so far I haven't had any luck with that. However I do know that someone has a better, full version of it, but it hasn't come up anywhere yet. As for the images, they come from various music sites, Priest fan pages and forums. None of them have been taken by me, mind you!
I must have a different set of ears...not a great performance by Rob...but...it's live and that's what makes it magical. A friend of mine had a bootleg of the British Steel tour....far from bad, but terrible in spots...but again..that's what playing live is all about...the moment..
I´ve visited your page and it's awesome...I'M YOUR FAN!!!! hahaha and a I was thinking where do you get the images to make the cover of your bootlegs, some of them I've never seen before
Hi again, I was wondering if you got the promo of "rock forever" it's very rare. in youtube there is a version with very bad quality here: watch?v=0w-U7ybovA8 and in the bbc documentary: "seven ages of rock" there is a small clip of that video in very good condition here around 1:30: watch?v=jPPmQh_cGA8 any idea if there is a complete good video of this song??
Bo, the majestic mega chorus is on the album. THIS is Rocky vs The Russian. Man he took on every single not of that motherfucker! Metal God indeed. \m/
That does not sound like Rob Halford to me. I've been a priest fan since 1977. Something is off about the vocals. If it is Rob then whatever it was that made him sound like that he should avoid at all costs in the future.
I actually read somewhere that they were performing this song only on few shows just for like test before the official SFV tour started, and apparently they came to conclusion that Rob sounds a bit like a child while he performs this live and that's why they stopped playing it live... honestly I love his voice here and I think they shouldn't have stopped playing it, after all, Rob is a proper singer and he could bring the performance of this song to perfection in no time
Dave Holland backup vocals at the end...please pray for him.
The true Essence of Classic Judas Priest is the Bootlegs!!
This is where the real "music magic" lies.
The sheer SPACE of this song makes it my favorite Priest tune ever. It just breathes wonderfully. I wish that they would revisit it live these days, now that they could do it even better. They are awesome. The whole SFV album is phenomenal.
The crescendo here is one of THE most powwerful moments in music history...ANY genre, ANY era...............................ANYBODY?
Agree 100%.
And the lyrics...
"So destiny has brought us oh so close together"
Awesome.
The whole album was incredible.
My favorite Priest song to (try) to sing along with🎶
I concur my good man!
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Settle down
One of their underrated songs. Love the part "So destiny has brought us all so close together."
Holy shit, a live version-- and he really hit that note in the bridge when he sings "dream." Jesus, this guy.
Holy shit. Respect.
A very good time of Judas priest the best of Metal All Time
Screaming for vengeance and defenders of the faith in my opinion was JP's musical peak. The sickest songs!
I wonder why they never played this one live more than they did (a few times only, I believe). One of their best songs. Great vocals from Rob on this one!
Totally agree, probably my favourite number by them. Nope only this night
His vocal prime, his voice was godlike, my favorite era :)
Man, the notes rob hits on this song are second to none
JARED BARATTA rapid fire
First time listening to this live, hello to all the rockers out there!! God Bless You All!
one of the best metal albums of all time! every song
Holy Shit I was at this show. It was not publicized much, they were testing their set out before the world tour kicked in. drove hours from NJ with my GF and a couple of buddies. Wow!
Stabler Arena 1982
Cool.....
Bull
The best singer of all time
Ervin Galassi yes. This bastard man. Wow he was amazing
I'd spend my days alone
I used to stay at home
Lost in seclusion there
Like I was in a cell
A captured heart as well
Surrounded by despair
Darkness filled my soul
Losing all control
Down on the streets below
Bright city lights would glow
The energy would rise
And through the heat I'd gaze
Still counting empty days
With fire in my eyes
Living through this hell
Can I break this spell
Fever. You set my soul on fire
Fever. You fill me with desire
Fever. You always get it right
Fever. All day and all night
Then one night as I walked
I heard your body talk
I saw a shooting star
In some magnetic trance
Our beating hearts would dance
And crash down from afar
Oh how strange fate is
Never dreamed of this
Fever. You set my soul on fire
Fever. You fill me with desire
Fever. You always get it right
Fever. All day and all night
So destiny has bought us
Oh so close together
We were like angels in the night
Living the dream
At last I'll be with you forever
And all at once it feels so right
Fever. You set my soul on fire
Fever. You fill me with desire
Fever. You always get it right
Fever. All day and all night
This is a gem, they only played Fever live twice. We're blessed that we can hear one of the versions
and in such good quality as well. A lot of rarely played Priest songs sound like total butt on their sole surviving recording.
Devil's Child is my favorite Priest from Screaming!!!!! And that album is a masterpiece 🔥🔥🔥
My favorite Judas Priest song
One of my favorites songs! I fell in love for JP because of these song.
+Joy Schulz Me too. It was my first favorite from them.

This damn dude!! Just wow. Killer voice
Good God!! I did not know this live version EXISTED. Thanks so much for posting it. I was saying to myself the other day, too bad Priest never did Fever live, and LO and Freaking BEHOLD, you got it!!

One of the Greatest Metal Songs Ever. Finally Live! WOW!
This is one of the greatest B-Side songs ever. This would have been great at the US FEST with the acoustics.
The Metal God delivers lessons
This song is pretty cool, makes me wish I was a teenager in the 80's. Rob's vocals are AWESOME. Wish they had played it live more times :(

Good song on record. This is a song for the Turbo tour though.
This rocks, although it's a bit of a shame the tape pushes the song to a much higher key. Rob sounds a bit like a chipmunk. But I still truly enjoyed hearing this!

@gardnerklein No wonder, they played this only on a couple of dates at the start of the World Vengeance tour.
I must have a different set of ears...not a great performance by Rob...but...it's live and that's what makes it magical. A friend of mine had a bootleg of the British Steel tour....far from bad, but terrible in spots...but again..that's what playing live is all about...the moment..
RIP RICK HUDSON !!!
The vocal middle section is Judas Priest’s Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Achievement unlocked: Legend.
I´ve visited your page and it's awesome...I'M YOUR FAN!!!! hahaha and a I was thinking where do you get the images to make the cover of your bootlegs, some of them I've never seen before
@XxTheMetalGoddessXx Link is in the description. On that page go to "Downloads" and search for "The First Vengeance".

The tape is sped up.
The tape is slightly sped up

It's a cover
Cover?
Wow, he sounds like a boy band
Posting someone else's music on UA-cam doesn't make you a "DJ" or a rock star.
Rob was the best vocalist in heavy metal area(1975~1990)
