One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SONGS FROM MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND. I think it's hilarious Rob forgot the Lyrics to the 2nd Verse but he covered it up like a pro. Not to mention, a small DRUM SOLO FROM LES BINKS!! I'd love to have this entire Concert on DVD!!
I loved this Glenn Tipton announced the song Starbreaker which is a rarity Rob Halford usually announced the songs and another thing this is the first time I have heard this one live from the Sin After Sin album. The only two I have heard through the years was Sinner and Diamonds And Rust. Thank you so much for this rarity called Starbreaker from Sin After Sin
Ritchie Blackmore should've been paying attention: There was no need for him to give Graham Bonnet a hard time about his short hair not fitting in with a hard rock band.
Nah I disagree about them not being “there”. They had just released their magnum opus and were set into their peak creativity. Now that’s not saying they never hit that peak again cause they definitely have several times since, but there was a clear vision and sound on stained class. I know this song is from sin after sin, but the point still stands for me anyway.
I remember seeing them twice with Les Binks. Beside being infinitely better than Dave Holland as a drummer (and I'm a drummer saying that), he also did this thing where he'd sometimes stand up while doing drum fills. Can't think of anyone else who's done that.
@@bigrigJim rly now? u ve got totally so wrong.... he was their best drummer... u should listenede some of their lives... like victim of changes , he totally nailed it!
@@hemlock399 u cant judge one drummer playing for 2 years and just few live shows with one that carried them for 10 years and thousands of live shows tbh
They wanted a more straight ahead drummer to break the American market. Yes, Binks is an incredible drummer. Holland was a great drummer also. He had a great swing and groove, and is underrated in his part in Priests history. He did what the "big 3" told him to play. Tipton and Halford fired Binks and hired Holland. Blame them for both. Like I said, I 100% agree that Binks was a superior drummer over Holland as far as what JP sounded like, but I an quite tired of what others have said about Holland's drumming. He did exactly what THEY wanted.
@@19megamustaine85, I'm not sure what you mean. I never mentioned KK .Do you mean what Holland had going on in his personal life? I'm not talking about that. I am strictly speaking about Dave Holland the drummer. His personal life is not the topic of my comments. Judas Priest took a cheap shot at their own history when they re-packaged British Steel, and knowingly credited Scott Travis. This was an intentional rewriting of metal history in the same likes as Sharon and Ozzy Osborne re recording the first 2 Blizzard of Ozz albums because the both no longer liked Bob Daisley & Lee Kerslake. If you are willing to accept that this band thinks you are stupid enough to NOT notice, then have at it.
Another huge J.P. classix this track stands out as a favourite high energy Roller from the good old days. Should have been played on the live bill until today.
First time I heard Glenn talking to the audience in the early days. Love him. Wishing him all the best 🥰🥰🥰🤘🤘🤘
The end of the drum solo was the beginning drums of Exciter
Les Binks !!! The Best Priest Drummer !!!
Да, уж, Лес Бинкс отличается от других. Классный ударник!
Simon Phillips Sin After Sin.
Indeed - Les totally shreds it here!!
Total agreement. Jazz finesse over speed any day.
after David Holland. That is.
Travis double bass triplets during verse transitions are stellar, lighting also stellar.
I wouldn't have thought Glenn did those crowd pump techniques
Glenn is obviously super-pumped and excited here. No wonder. They were on the verge of their breakthrough, and he was feeling it!
I enjoy seeing that from Glenn. He seems so reserved otherwise.
Rob forgetting the second verse is epic!!! Still nailed it.

From what ive seen thats how they did it live with the drum solo break part. Sick as fuck!
Nice intro from Glenn and a wardrobe change from Rob.
they later used the intro for Invader
Wardrobe change?
@@Bananenbennie this one or they re-recorded it ? because if they used this one it is clean AF in the record
@@jooj_crickets I think I was wrong, because Stained Class was already released by this time. Its the same kind of intro though.
Tommy Bolin used to use the Echorec a lot.
The closing drum solo is magnificent.
yes, les is totally incredible!, but in this shity way of be filmed is really fucktop!

I migliori Judas sono quelli degli anni 70 ❤ sono l'heavy metal!
That's awesome to see Glenn talking to the crowd!
This is a real treasure to see. Rob’s vocals are insane at the end.
Ritchie Blackmore should've been paying attention: There was no need for him to give Graham Bonnet a hard time about his short hair not fitting in with a hard rock band.
Right? He was a great vocalist for Rainbow
that cousin of the bee gees was Ritchi's 5th choice because noone wanted to play with him at that time, caus DIO told some nasty things about him.....
Les tearing it the F up!
thats the intro for invader one of my fave of staind class album
Every Priest album from the 70s was all killer no filler
Fordham Donnington Killing Machine? The song Burnin Up? That’s filler. Last Rose Of Summer as well.
@@MLBFCollection Burnin' up is not a fuckin' filler at all.if you want to pick a filler take Take on The World or Evening Star
So much fun watching them still raw, and not "there" yet. They knew they were special and on the way, though. They weren't wrong, either.

Moe Tucker from The Velvet Underground
wow! Les Binks! great performance!!!
That must be Les Binks on the drums...nice work!
\m/
Oh heck yes . I never understood why they went with Dave Holland for so long , that guy was such a downgrade.
@bigrigJim
British Steel seems to have been about simplification. Holland fit into that goal.
@@hemlock399 it was about paypment for the live album..... les an glen had different opinions....

I thought Les Binks left because he wasn’t big on touring massively or making it big with Judas Priest; At least according KK’s autobiography.
@@ButThatsShacksTrain stop sounding like KK never did anything bad !

Could not agree more Dave Holland was an inferior drummer
Glen introduces this song on the Live and Rare Version.
That fucking voice!
Saw these guys when they passed through Austin in February 1978
Star Voyage to a new Metal World.........
Tommy Bolin-esque noises with the Echoplex at the beginning by Glenn!
Amazing version of this great Song!
Robert the one with a high powerful voice.
STARBREKER!
Another huge J.P. classix this track stands out as a favourite high energy Roller from the good old days. Should have been played on the live bill until today.
What was that piece of equipment that Glenn Tipton was using at the beginning of Starbreaker ?
I think it's a theremin
It's his delay effect set to heavy feedback ....all those repeats 😁
I always get Bowie vibes from Rob in this performance
Les Binks drum solo 4:39 - ...
they always bring the cool shit to Japan!
Astonishing performance
One of the best ever intros of any song rock on people 🎸🤘🎚💞✝️😘🤘🎸
real rock n roll
Thanks for sharing! this is awesome!
Лес бинкс звучит потрясающе!
Crazy cool arrangement
They were Metal even without leather.
They weren’t even wearing leather yet!Rob’s voice was so pristine and powerful that it would cause the p.a. System to tremble and fucking quake!!!
Awesome
Mind blown!!!

WOW!!! JUST FUCKING, WOW!!
Was that a David Lee Roth-style yelp at 3:48?
