It’s not only in games that this is noticeable. Streaming services having pumping out quantity over quality for years now as well creating infinite scrolls of content that is all superficial, very ephemeral (appeals the current trend only usually) and where every movie and tv show feels like it’s written by the same people. Mainstream/pop music has been doing this for quite some time now as well.. It was just a matter of time that such approach would absorb AAA game development completely, specially given the profits involved.

I came really close once, got 2nd place, but the last guy alive broke my plates and killed me with 4 shots from his famas (which he fired after I was halfway through mag-dumping him, i landed 17).

True but games with battle passes still get you addicted because you will miss out on rewards so you will need to play everyday for that. I just stopped playing games that have battle passes. I've never been more happy. I can have a lot of stuff done in a day either for enjoyment or productivity.

Their own algorithm was so good it'd kick me out of a game with my wife and tell me "lost connection" while she continued to play 5ft away from me. Then refuse to let me join her party again for awhile or we'd sit there forever trying to "find a match" because our skill levels are so far apart. So i'd like to thank activision for that wonderful experience because i haven't bought another cod in years because of it :)
