- How To Buy Your Dream Car in 20’s. Actual Guide. Not a Clickbait Vlog masked as a dream car tutorial, when it's just about how they bought their dream car. I'll teach YOU, how to get yours. No Cryptocurrency, Drone Startups, Penny Stocks, or Lemonade Stands here. Just a legit talk for hard working folk looking to get their dream car and find their way through life. Here is an outline of the video's structure, since last video, a lot of folk criticized that my rambling videos like this, could benefit from some structure, so I took that advice.
Thesis: In order to achieve your dream, we’ll need to talk about how obtainable your dream car is, what type of career you should seek to obtain it, how your lifestyle can affect you, and responsibilities that need to be addressed before buying your dream car.
First Step: Is it obtainable or unobtainable?
- If it's obtainable, gosh diddly darn, aren't you lucky!
- Why is unobtainable?
Second Step: Future Career Planning
- Get a Higher Paying Job
- Seek Higher Education, or these other alternatives, Trade School, Armed Forces, Entrepreneurship, Community College, etc.
- Don't get in tons of debt for no reason
Step 3: Change Your Lifestyle
- Clothes, Jewelry, Watches, Shoes, Smartphones, Gaming PC's, Consoles, etc. Technology and Fashion are more expensive then you think.
- Avoid unnecessary spending. Don't eat out a lot, or party too much. Don't go on expensive vacations. As Dave Ramsey himself said, Broke People Shouldn't Go on Vacations.
Step 4: Address Responbilities
- Buying Vs. Leasing. My opinion, always buy. If you have to lease, watch this video: • Buying vs Leasing a Ca...

Funny because my dream car is the FD...which begs the question, how good is it as a midway car, like he said in the video? If I have a 2002 Camry now, should I buy something else as a way to work up to an FD, or is it something that I can buy outright and be good?

This is everything I needed to hear when I was getting out of high school. I had the classic “two years of community college and two years of university” plan with NO idea what kind of career I wanted. I was a terrible student in high school (and still am) and three semesters of college led to me getting sick of it and spending the next few years working dead end jobs. I finally started a machining course at 23, and I’m mere months from graduating at 25. I kick myself every single day for not exploring other options because I could have had a six figure job by the time I was old enough to buy alcohol. My advice to anyone out there who’s at that age where you’re thinking about your future is to listen to Blade and keep an open mind.

I’m in my early 20s (21 to be specific) I recently started to learn to code to hopefully better my life, it’s a thing I’d wanted to learn since I was 14 but my parents said I wouldn’t get anywhere with computers and that they wanted me to become a doctor. I recently started taking control of my own life and it feels good to do that and work on myself more .
I really hope that the project that you are working on is going to be successful. You are one of the only people who follow their dream job/s.
Funny enough, a lot of people in IT make the same as a doctor or even more.

I'm watching this over 2 years later, and so much of this advice still makes sense. Love how accurate it is. So glad my dream cars aren't crazy. Miata, RX-7, S200, etc
Unfortunately for you, the rx-7 has inflated like crazy and its not really very reachable for most people, + the additional crazy amount of maintenance cost those rx-7s have because of that rotary engine..
Yeah, the RX-7 is definitely on the more slightly unreachable end. I learned after I made the original comment about all the oil & engine stuff they've got going on lol. Luckily a Miata is my #1 pick, and they're a lot easier to get
My dream car is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8. They don’t make them anymore but I have a 2004 Lancer LS, which looks almost like it, so I’m gonna make it my dream care 2.0 and mod it.
Miata is kinda expensive too........Its consider like a "Old but golp" piece of automovilistic
@@ImmersiveYT Hey, growing up in the detroit area the rx7 was always my dream car even when I saw "exotic" american cars (Ford GT vipers ect) on a daily basis. I finally said screw it to my parents as they always wanted to control my life to make sure I would succeed. I am now in trade school and afterwards I am gonna save for those pretty 3 rotors that I used to lust over at car meets and shows. First thing though is to buy a house and somehow find the right girl which I am still at square one with because I still haven't dated anyone. Hey with hard work and will-power even that can happen.
I already do all of these things, but I really appreciate you looking out for the younger generation. Thank you so much man. Mad respect. I am 17 and I’m getting pretty close to buying a C4 corvette.

“Your dream car should never be your first car”
I’m glad I saw your video. This was my realization to cure my frustration on why I can’t afford my dream car.
The part about Tiger parenting is very true. My parents gave me my own voice and while that may have lead me into trouble at points, it taught me to be responsible for my own actions and that my life is my own. So many of my friends had parents who were very strict in one way or another and it lead to most of the negative emotions they had during their adolescent years. They never felt like they had a voice inside their own home. That's just so messed up. It doesn't cause someone to be more responsible, it's the opposite infact. When you're bared from freedom you'll subconsciously take any bit of freedom you can. So instead of making mistakes that gets you detention or your video games taken away from you. You're making mistakes that could destroy your entire life. To anyone that reads this if you have a strict parent you have the right to stand up for yourself. In the moment the consequences might suck but you deserve so much better. It might even lead to opening your parents eyes. Don't be scared to talk to them about how you feel, they were your age once as well.

About to start college as a mechanical engineering student at NCSU and I’m looking forward to it. My dream car is an RX-8 R3 and I hope to get one soon after college, I’m really glad I saw this video and got a lot more valuable information from it than I expected. Thank you so much and keep up the good work! I’m definitely gonna pay more attention to how much I spend and start making more sacrifices in order to save more money to put towards college expenses and then hopefully save up for a car along the way. A lot of my friends bought their cars in high school and now they’re facing the consequences of dealing with the expenses of owning sports cars at this age while I was rolling around in an 02 Accord with them so I’m trying to hold off and save up until I absolutely need a car, and also occasionally got to have fun in my dad’s 07 Mazdaspeed 3 so I’m so grateful for those experiences

Rapidshot yeah sometimes. But most people with a lot of money got it from their parents haha

Most rich parents don't give money outright for the kids to blow, just because celebrities or public figures may display it that way, I assure you that's not how the upper-class functions. Sure almost all of them help their offsprings in their financially, but that often comes a lot of strings attached, and that's how rich family maintain and grow wealth generations to come

I'm almost graduating from community college majoring in automotive technology. My professors are always saying that there is a shortage of technicians and companies such as Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, Cummins, etc. are always sending representatives to my college looking for prospective employees and offering internships.
Whenever people like you say "You don't need college to succeed" it reminds me of my high school college advisor in my senior year. Very wise words! I went to a community college and became a pilot. In-demand trades are usually better than college straight out since it costs WAY less for whatever certificate you need for the trade, and you can start working and making a return on that much sooner than if you get a degree. If you still feel like you need a degree later on, then you can slowly pay out of pocket for it, but rarely is it necessary unless you're going into some management position for your company. Most parents want their kids to get a degree since it was a much better deal in their own time. However, now colleges are way more expensive, and with a lot less return once you join the workforce.
I just bought my dream car last month for $7500. Regardless of cost, I definitely agree on it not being your first car. I also think it's best to have a second vehicle if your dream car is impractical.

Honestly fantastic advice in the first part about your chosen education route. Uni is fantastic and even required in some cases if you have a specific career you're set on getting into but there's so many other options available that are just as valid if not better, especially if you don't have a direction you're set on pursuing.
I was fortunate enough to not have pushy parents and they very much wanted to support me whatever direction, my secondary school (highschool) however, was not at all. I remember my head of 6th form (years 11-12) coming in to the common room at the end of our final exams and essentially said "If anyone here isn't going to university, you can leave now." To which myself and a couple of other students did. Since I had decided to redirect and go study carpentry at college, which here in the UK is basically the same level of education I had just finished (A levels). That moment stuck with me as it really did make me and those other students feel like trash. As a student who always put in genuine effort after all those years working towards "something" it felt like a real kick in the teeth.
Despite it otherwise being a pretty decent school, they really pushed the uni path on the students, it makes the school look good produce more uni students and I get that, but they really made it feel like it's the only way. Heck, my "careers advice" teacher made it sound like your entire existence would go to ruin if you don't succeed and go to uni, but that guy is a whole other story lol. As I said, it's a perfectly valid route, but it's absolutely not the only route to success.
I didn't do very well academically, very average at best. My A level subjects (basically college level) were deliberately fairly broad subjects to keep my options open since I didn't have a career that stuck out to me all through my education. Didn't go awful but wasn't great either. Nothing really clicked with me. My form tutor was fortunately very supportive and actually found the carpentry college course I ended up taking on afterwards and it clicked. I found genuine enjoyment in the subject, something I hadn't experienced in the last 12 years of education and proceeded to do pretty well going forward. If it wasn't for her support and a little push, I would've picked any random uni subject for the sake of "that's what everyone's doing"
I have several friends who found success in uni but equally, several who just got lumped with a huge debt and a qualification that's served them nothing since. A few of them suffered varying levels of depression as a result and yes, even had suicidal thoughts. Fortunately myself and other friends pulled each other through those kinds of situations but not everyone is so fortunate. This is a very real situation many young people can find themselves in. This isn't a "uni = bad" speech and absolutely don't write it off if you have a direction that it makes sense for by any means, but take a moment to understand the huge range of other perfectly valid options! There's something for everyone if you look for it 👍
this video was made 4 years ago and I never got it recommended, but now was the right time for me to get recommended this video

I just drive for fun sometimes. I do use my Z06 for A to B also, since that's the main point of a car. I like that though. It's a car I can share my life with. Great for fun and daily use.

Thank you so much for this video, it has motivated me to keep working on my car and get a job to move forward. I was so lazy and unmotivated all the time since covid, now I have a drive to get to my goals. Thank you.
so how’s it going?
Thank you for this video. You gave a realistic guide that I can follow in the future as you said, which was nice after the countless "buy my dropshipping course" and "invest in these random stocks you've never heard of before" videos.
For the first 8 minutes I had an existential crisis until I realized that I'm 12 and have at least 6 more years until I'm technically an adult

Same here bro
I have a 1 step plan.
Step 1: have a dirt cheap dream car.
Like an older (not classic) Volvo.
Or Japanese shitboxes.
me with european escort :D
Same! I really want a first gen Miata, which is such a cliché but I love that thing :)
@@borisvbrknex me too thanks.

@@TheAndostro Idk if you would consider Evos Dirt Cheap
But here in my country we have lots of Evos here (mostly Generations III to VI the Xs are weirdly abundant but the IX and VIII is super rare) selling around 350,000 to 800,000 pesos
Ranging from 6k to 15k dollars depending if that thing is on decent condition with minor maintenance to mint condition and newly fixed ones.
I’m 18 and just bought a not running or driving 76 camaro lt that’s pretty rusted and needs alot of work. But with that work now it runs and drives. Sometimes working on the car and forming that bond and learning all its quirks that makes you love it
This helps a lot of people bro thank you for sharing your knowledge even the young people that are in like 8th grade can learn from this thank you alot. Continue to share knowledge because knowledge is power and if you dont share that power you are powerless.

This video isn’t car buying advice, its life advice. Great video
I'm lucky to have asian parents but not "YOU BE DOCTAA" or "YOU NEED UNIVERSITY" and listen when I said "yeah nah I wanna be a mechanic" and we're really supportive and really pushed me to do what I wanted when I felt shitty or on the verge of giving up and I'm currently doing tafe "community college for the American" and at very good tafe and I wouldn't want it any other way. But parent are asian so still want me to finish year 12, 1 year left. 😁
I had no such luck. I can still hear the, "ARE YOU DOCTA YET?" Haunt my dreams 😂
Please give me your switch friend code bladed! I want to play splatoon 2 with you!
Bruh I go to Griffith, basically TAFE
@IPlayRoblox dude that's good. Your parents are making you ready for the future. The university part i can relate. My parents are Indian and want me to go to a good college. I told them i want to go to William and Mary which is surprisingly easier to get into than I thought and my parents are supportive. But of course are making me work my ass off. They made a deal that if I get into a good college, doesnt have to be W&M, then they would get me whatever car I want, which they know is either a S2000, Forester 2.5XT, or a Civic Type R.
@IPlayRoblox plus, my family isnt rich at all. We are probably in the middle of the middle class

This video has made me think more about my future. I have really been trying to think more about it since soon I’m going to be going to early college and doing pre drivers ed. Hopefully things work out and I’ll end up with an evo sooner or later
By far my favorite video great advice for life in general as a parent that was forced to realize even after multiple generous promotions over the last couple of years I passed on the opportunity to buy my dream car to get my wife a family car and continue to drive my 22 year old pickup after my Jetta was hit and totalled. Plus side I have a decent bank account balance and a newer Subaru that's both quicker then the Jetta was, all wheel drive and a much better handling car then my last and my wife loves it and happy to keep it as long as she can freeing up my ability to further save for that S chassis.
Step 1: change your mindset and start to love prius
Step 2: work for 2 months
Step 3: buy a prius!
Its easier than expected

Well...
*THE LAW THAT SAYS CARS CAN ONLY BE IMPORTED WHEN THEY'RE 25 YEARS OF AGE*
Unless they meet emissions and shit
You can import them now. However, they won't be street legal unless you get them crash tested.
K 9
I think you can import them as a show car and then drive them up to 5000 miles a year or something like that. You’d probably need another daily driver though unless you don’t drive very often.
Depends on how old you are if you're let's say 13 it's obtainable once you turn eighteen
Age is just a number
Your videos are very informative and hopeful they made me who I’m now in car culture and by the way my two dream cars are: Datsun 240z and the Acura NSX 1991. Thanks for your awesome videos you made me very happy and made my day. ❤keep going like that, you’re going to succeed with your wise words and advices.❤

I'm 20 years old and still figuring things out myself, I've been in the trade for a year and I seriously ask that you listen to what this guy said in the first half of the video, genuinely amazing advice
I’m on my last year of high school and I’ve came back to watch this video by accident but I’m happy I did as now I’m really coming down to shaping my life.
when you have several dream cars on various price ranges from 8k to 100.000k... you know that no matter what you will be happy in the end

I’m with ya on the college topic, I never went and worked on what I loved to do. Now I got a career at 41 an hour and was able to get the ride I always wanted, when I quit drinking I was saving 140 bucks a week just on vodka! When I was sober I stopped drunk 🥴 buying things. He is right the amount of money I save now that I’m focused on my Benz and house is easily 7-800 bucks a week just in my savings account. Great message
Nailed it with the future planning! I wish someone had talked to me as a teen about the trades. Teachers make it seem like everybody needs to try and become a doctor or lawyer instead of carpenters, electricians, plumbers etc.
