- Before you call me a hater, trust me, you'll agree with me when you see the people mentioned in this video. You can call me a Hater, but I'm hating on the Haters who deserve to be hated. People who say, "You don't deserve to own that car" deserve all the hate they can get. After all, what comes around goes around. If they go around hating other's hard work to get their dream car and want to discredit it, then they deserve to be called out on their hate and have it shoved as far up their gluteus maximus as possible.

As a 13 year old, i think you deserve your car, some people don't drive their cars at all. I can see you love and care for your car.
That's not what it's about. At 13, you have to understand that if a person legally earns the money and buys the car they want at the agreed-upon price, then they ALWAYS deserve to own it. It doesn't matter if they drive the car, it doesn't matter if they deliberately destroy the car either. Even a rare and expensive one.
Once they've paid for it, they own it and if it's 100% legal and consensual, they deserve to own it.
That's how it works. It's about ethics, not about the car.

@@c0ya1 I agree with you man, we have a 1993 FD RX-7 that's been sitting up in the garage for many, many years now. Lovely machine, needs a little engine work. Having it sitting there makes me sad, I've more or less outgrown the car "fetish" (I'm 46 y.o. now) but having that little beauty up there reminds me that the boring, mundane, everyday nuisance of driving a vehicle is something I used to really enjoy.
Our base model RAV4 is a well-made vehicle that has served us well, but it just doesn't have the same "zing" to it as the RX-7! Of course, it also doesn't have the same fuel consumption as the FD, and doesn't have the FD's expensive taste for ultra-premium gas, either.
The 'one of a kind' thing is too true in the domestic scene. I go to the local stop of the Goodguys tour most years, and so many of the owners put those plaques next to their car that run down a list of how many were made with this and that factory option. I couldn't help but wonder how much time was put into researching everything on that list, and then carefully selecting which options would give them a list that counts down until they are able to say "and THIS is that car." It's very far from just being a Corvette thing, but I've only noticed this going on at domestic American shows.
yeah, ive got a z31 and by me ive never even seen another one so I dont even need to say anything about it to get some looks, I live somewhere cars rust easy so any old car is rare here

@@beamngmutilation yep. I know this cause im a teen who works for his vehicle. I have been given a ton of crap for owning an 03 ranger xlt. Simply because its a small weak truck. Then kids at school got camaros, Mustangs, corvettes, and f250s. Then again after 6 months of working out and gaining 40 plus pounds everyone is nice all of a sudden. Cause I bought my truck, fixed it up, replace and change anything from oit, to the differential, or brake pads. Plus with all my automotive knowledge I can outsmart anyone in school. So when a kid starts talking bout the camaro his parent bought em I can just pin him with knowledge and if its to bad then physically pin him down.

@@beamngmutilation yeah, at this point its midnight. I think cars should be well used and driven hard, but at the same time cared for and loved like family. Not spent in a garage for 5 years at a time, or constantly redlined. Drive it around 4k. Keep the engine warm and happy. Never push on a cold start. And always keep up with oil cahnges. Plus manual tend to be more efficent and much more fun. Even my dads escort zx2 with a hundred and thirty horsepower is very fun. Besides any truck perhaps at this point any vehicle I get will be a manual.

I had a Jeep Wrangler YJ in college, told everyone it was a one of a kind trim package the “Je Flinstone”. Reality the driver floor rotted away and surfboard material was used to fill it and rot took away the “ep” away from the side Jeep logo and all that remained was “Je”

My civic is one of a kind because I lay the pine tree on the dash instead of hanging it from the mirror. Also, the pine tree has a no smoking sign on it, but I didn't do a cigarette lighter delete. Living on the edge.
There is also that one person at meets that just looks at some guy's (or gal's) car and says "That's a cool car." and minds their own business.
Yeah I'm that guy... I just compliment cars at a meet or a show. Doesn't matter if it's a Mercedes-Benz or a 302 Boss. I always give them credit for the care they give.

I love this vid!!! For context, I do wash my car prolly twice a week, BUT I have put over 15k miles on it since picking it up just before Thanksgiving of 2021 and this is written on 30 Apr 2022. I don’t abuse my car and I’m pretty obsessive about maintenance. But I drive the snot out that car on backroads in 5 states so far. I wouldn’t trade any of those miles for value because I’ve enjoyed my car thoroughly.
I'm a kid and I love cars. people say I don't know anything about them but I love to learn about them by myself. I like mostly jdm cars and the way they pull the parking brake back to drift.
For me, the Tesla Fanboys. People who insist that Tesla builds the best cars in every aspect, Dragstrip, Track, Rally, Drifting... And when you show them how a Tesla got beaten by any other car, they will simply say: "wait for the Roadster, it will go from 0-200mph in 3 seconds and it will have rockets AND will only cost like 10k..."

The absolute worst has to be those "car guys" who think they know a car better than it's owner and then tell them what he should do with it.
I once saw a guy taling to an RX8 owner, listing off things that he most definitely will have to do with his car. For example: Engine swapping it with either an LS v8 or an 2JZ (apparently rotary engines spontaneously combust in a ball of flame after ten years of use), getting rid of the rear seats to install a NOS kit, slapping a massive wing on the back, etc.

I have a Truck I can call one of a kind because there’s not been another car that’s been around with me for so long throughout my earlier childhood and beyond. It feels different when you have just one vehicle that doesn’t have to be special that’s been through all your ups and downs and still going for even more years to come.. that’s probably the right way to describe your car as one of a kind, because nothing else can fill those same kind of memories and time that you’ve gone through, that is something money can never buy

the first point is so true, I got a 2002 camaro z28 as my first car, really fun 5 speed manual that my dad taught me how to drive in, and i feel so insecure driving the car around my peers cause I feel like they're gonna shit talk me saying I have daddies money or some crap like that even though I maintain and care for the car on my own budget! It's just people who get jealous that really ruin the confidence in other drivers.

@@BladedAngel Some have given a pretty good argument that cars aren't the fricking Mona Lisa, and because we humans like to interact with and experience the world through touching and feeling things, it's good to let people touch your car at car shows. It gives them a more meaningful experience. That said, you should never touch someone's car without permission. That's one of the most entitled, arrogant things you can do at a car meet. Always ask first, and if they say no, respect their wishes. Some people put a lot of time, money, and effort into making their paint look nice and clean, and it's understandable that they don't want someone to carelessly screw it up. But as for me, my car's paint isn't perfect, so go ahead and fondle the mirrors, caress the quarter panels, brush your cheek against the roof! Heck, you can sit in it and take selfies in the driver's seat if you want! Whatever helps you enjoy and appreciate the car :)
I remember a couple of moms told me that I didn't deserve my C5 vette because I'm young and that "I had never worked a day in my life" I worked 30+ hours a week senior year of high school to buy that car and they assumed that because I was young that my parents had bought it for me. I usually shrug stuff off about my car but that time it felt different. probably because they said the "daddy's money" shit when I lost my father at 5 so I'm probably more mad at that then the car comment but in the end you just have to tune them out and keep living your life.
Also Bladed my anime waifu on my vette is bigger than yours, so ha. you might have another 300+ horsepower but I got more waifu.
They were probably just jealous because they have the expectation that you can't have nice things until you've worked your butt off for several decades. But if you work smart/hard enough, you can totally buy your dream car at a young age. Heck, I started a small business when I was 14 and after a few years I was able to buy my dream car, a 1966 Thunderbird, as my first car. Even daily drove it to high school for a while! Congrats on buying that C5 Corvette, that's really cool. Don't let the haters get you down, you know you earned your car.

quick correction, it actually is possible in many countryies in europe to modify your car leagally (engine tune as well). the point is just you have to pay a redicolous amount of money for the permission. eg, a firend modified a mk4 supra up to about 950 hp street leagle in swizerlan. he paied for this car (inclusive 100k for the car itself) about 300k wich is basicly the same amount of money as you'd pay for a new aventador

Even though I am really young and can't drive yet, I can agree to all of this.
My grandfather restored a 1958 Corvette back in the 80s and 90s. Once he was done, he parked it and never drove it again. I thought it was really sad because it just ended up rotting. I would think owning such a beautiful classic, you’d WANT to drive it any chance you got.
My mom's dodge journey is one of a kind cuz only those cars exact atoms made it and ONLY it...

I feel the whole “one of a kind or unique” argument is good for older cars. Like who cars about the options on your two year old corvette, but say something older like nineties and back I could see the argument. My brother deals in f bodies and has had multiple firehawks where as a whole they are somewhat rare but the colors and what transmission is where it gets rare. We currently have a 1 of 7 firehawk which is just kinda cool
some options, such as engine+transmission combination or other rare feature (such as perhaps a convertible top on a traditionally non convertible vehicle) I can understand, but otherwise, I'm aware modded really isn't the same as all original, but if someone can "build" an exact match by giving it a repaint and installing every option your car had as well, I don't see it as much tbh. ik with first gen mustangs it's pretty much at this point. sure a "K" VIN is rare, but it's still (or at least was) a relatively common V8 virtually anyone can just swap into it.

I kind of agree as long as it is something truly significant, like if you truly had a 1 of 100 car with that paint that is kinda cool as long as it is truly a big part of the car not just "oh mine is red with blue stitching" than it is fine and as long as you don't exagerate it like just because it has a rare color does not mean its worth double a regular version of the same car lol

I bought myself a Scat Pack Challenger earlier this year, and I've only had one person to tell me that I didn't deserve it, and ironically it was a friend of mine that I've literally known my entire life.
I've never heard anyone say that when somebody buy a house, even in their 20s. A normal house is insanely expensive compared to almost any car, even exotic cars. Nobody says it though. People only see the car (or the new computer, new TV, stereo equipment, whatever) and they can never, ever see the actual WORK.
You worked for it, bought it at an agreed upon price, and it's yours. If it's not stolen and the money isn't stolen, you deserve it.

My neighbor does not deserve his dodge scat challenger. 2 weeks after owning the car, he got into a brawl at the pool hall and ended up in the hospital. The charger got vandalized with a broken side mirror and dents everywhere.
I feel like being a car person isn’t just about how many mods you put on your car, but I think it’s mostly about taking care of the car you have or love, I have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata in a sparkly silver blue color and I love that car, she had 36,000 miles when I got her and now she just hit 58,000 miles, I got a few people asking how I found a 13 year old car with that low of miles. Only mod I have on her is a subwoofer I installed. But I wouldn’t trade her for anything.
