Great review. I’m in love with these as well. Actually replaced my KRK Rokits with these. And the flat bass response is actually GREAT for music mixing as it doesn’t over-hype your bass making sure you get an awesome mix. 🤘😎
You mentioned that you would like the speakers to have a bit more bass, but just remember they are not speakers, they are monitors. Monitors are designed to give a very accurate and unaffected sound. Great video and nice setup.
If you want more sub bass and lift in the mids then you buy standard bookshelf speakers that are often setup to enhance bass and mids over the original audio. If you want to hear exactly what sounds are set from the manufacturer/sound studio for the audio you are listening to then you by studio monitors....which these are. There is a difference between bookshelf speakers and studio monitors.
ive used these for about a week and I can say im VERY impressed one downside i see is when you are reaching low Freq. you get a ring/buzz/rattle (could just be my enviroment)
I've actually mixed on these and the results weren't bad, but at the end of the day they are missing a good deal of low-end, which is a shame because they have great detail und don't need much space. I've upgraded to E5XT's and they are just right. Eris 3.5 are good monitors for beginners, people with little space and small budget. They can get quite loud without distorting. Good little monitors.
Nice video, I mean when I saw your video I tho this was a popular channel but no, you really deserve more subscribers bro nice work and have a nice 2021 !
for $99 dollars with a 3 inch cone they have more bass than i expected. if you want more bass on the same cone size genelec 8010 is an option but they cost a little higher.
Just to clear up something about the build quality. You said the cabinets are made of plastic, but i do believe that they are made from MDF that has been vinyl wrapped, aside from maybe the front panel bezel which is plastic. Great video all in all!
@@duncanidaho2097 I saw that as well in another review, but they aren't pre-attached, he might not have seen them in the packaging. However they looked really thin to begin with, and they might compress more over time under the weight of the speakers.
Home stereo speakers are often designed to boost or enhance audio levels, say, by upping the bass or bringing out richer tones in the mids and highs. Studio monitors, however, are designed to not enhance sound at all, keeping all frequencies flat. What you get: purer, cleaner sound for more accurate mixing. These are monitors not speakers.
If you want more sub bass and lift in the mids then you buy standard bookshelf speakers where they are often set to enhance bass and mids over the original audio. You want to hear exactly what sounds are set from the manufacturer/sound studio for the audio that you are listening to then you by studio monitors....which these are.
Hey man, great video but throughout the video you kept saying 'these speakers sound great, considering the price' which bugged me because does that mean they sound like actually really good or like $100 speakers
Yeah, what I meant was that these speakers sound really good and it’s surprising considering they’re only $100. Sorry for the confusion 😄 should’ve made that more clear
if I use these from my interface main L and R outputs to the desired speaker, then do I need the speaker wire the runs between my 2 presonus eris 3.5 speakers? Did the speakers come with the 2, 1/4 inch TRS cables?
Great video and review. Thinking about getting these, but have one question about the bass or low end: Does the sound improve if you turn up the low end dial on the back of the speaker? I know it’s meant to attenuate to the room, but I’m wondering if it improves the overall low end without coloring the sound too much. Thoughts?
I’ve got mine set to about -2 on the bass and I think it gives it a richer low end without muddying any of the other sounds. Though I personally like a very “punchy” sound from my speakers.
I think it has a good bass ,but not a earth shaking base, you need something bigger.i got some resolves from Samson that blow you away with bass.but its just to much for next to the pc 🤭

I usually turn the subwoofer for for music producing since, what you said is on point, the true sound of these monitors is really good, the sub is mostly for music, movies and video games.
I’ve spent a good amount of time using them for both of those things. They work great, however, being reference monitors the sound is pretty balanced not leaning too high into the bass or the highs. It’s a good overall sound but just not extremely bass-y :)
I run my speakers into my monitor so all of my HDMI inputs have the same sound output. But I don’t see why you couldn’t use an audio controller with these. I don’t know a whole lot about audio equipment but that seems possible to me. Also, thanks for the positive feedback! I really appreciate it 🙂
I've got my speakers connected through a relay with the 24V PC output, so they turn on together with my PC .You can consider something similar perhaps..
These speakers are phenomenal for $99. Probably the best you’ll find under $500. They are that good. And they can get loud, with just enough bump for a true mix translation
no. That isnt. true in the slightest. The speakers are tiny at 3.5 inches meaning they lack low end. Theyre exceptionally good for 99 dollars and are the best in that price range, but you cant compare them to 500 dollar speakers when you can get the krk rokit 8s at that price range or the jbl 308s which are just gonna be better. Or for even lower you can get rokit 5s which are still better.
@@mastertrey4683 bro talking about low end. You can't get them right even in rokit. In untreated room or home, not even rokit or eris 3.5. You can only depend on some good headphones for mixing low end. But if you serious about low end, get studio monitors of over 1000$.
