Something new is definitely going on at Ridgid. I just registered my 34th tool, and unlike in the past where (despite always uploading a copy of my receipt) it usually took 2 or more weeks (and usually then a phone call to customer service) to have the registration complete, this time it only took less than 3 days with no need for a phone call. Sweet! However, in the past I'd get an email saying that the registration was finished, but not this time. But I can live with that.
Second data point, here. Last week I bought a tool + battery kit, and my registration experience was exactly as yours. The kit went from "LSA pending" to "active" on VERY quickly, maybe two or three days after registration. However, again the same as your experience, no verification emails arrived. For other tools I've registered in recent months, I had received TWO emails for each registration... One congratulates you for your LSA registration being approved, and a separate one with the subject line "Ridgid Certificate." Both contained model and serial numbers of what got registered, and I appreciated having the additional documentation provided. Maybe they're just delayed this time, or maybe they're just not sending them anymore. Either way, I doubt there's much we can do about it!
They send me an approval email within an hour typically and I just used their LSA direct service to repair my impact and I shipped it out earlier this week and it's been repaired and arriving today back to me.
I’m actually considering a switch to Ridgid solely based on the LSA. Life’s about to get real expensive for the next 5 years with 2 kids about to be in college, so the less I have to worry about buying tools and batteries the better.
I was in HD today ( again ) and did spot a Ridgid display, their multi tool with blades, sanding pads and no kidding, TWO battery's! 99.00, doesn't come with a bag but he'll my DeWalt with one battery cost the same not long ago.
One thing I wish Ridgid would explain is the LSA is really a Lifetime Service Agreement for the length of production of the said model or line. All of my Ridgid 12v tools are no longer warranted once they discontinued the 12v line.
I was hoping you would have already done the whole process and waited for them to send you one back before you posted this video. The suspense is killing me😅

@ToolReviewZone I had been previously nervous about Ridgid's LSA so I didn't buy Ridgid for a longtime, I had heard that it was a nightmare to deal with and I don't have any service centers within 50 miles and only 3 within a 100 miles. So when I broke subcompact 3/8 impact a few months ago I just chucked it in the corner and was planning on buying the new model with the tri leds but then they came out with the direct service and I figured what do I have to lose.
I just received it and it had broken a ball bearing in the hammer mechanism and they replaced the entire motor/gearbox assembly including the front and rear housings. They even included a handwritten note from the technician thanking me for my Ridgid loyalty.
@ToolReviewZone I get that, man, and I don't mind that. It's "made in China" that I'm avoiding, lately. Even with Makita. Vietnam, Korea, Bangladesh, whatever. Just NOT "made in China" that's all.
I've painstakingly registered every Rigid tool, batt-ray and chargers I've purchase over the past 3 or 4 years. After checking out my Dashboard online, it turns out I have 41 tools registered with Rigid alone! Lol But that dates back to the 24 Volt Rigid tools I purchase back in 2008! I haven't needed to warranty anything yet but I'm sure I'll need to submit a few claims on those batt-rays soon. The process looks easy, but I wonder if they'll play games and try to deny the claim because I didn't dot an i somewhere. Lol We'll see.
Thanks for making this video, can't wait for part 3! 🔥🔥🔥

Damn brother, you ain't kidding 👊👊👊
Good point . And materials are going up like crazy
Thank you for testing the lsa. I am up to 73 tools registered
Dayuuuuuuuum......you are RIDGID Ron!!!!!
Hey Clint, weren't the batteries (only) able to be shipped for repair/replacement before? I thought *tools* being shipped for LSA was the new part...
The tools were under warranty too. I had a heated that needed replaced a couple years ago and the lsa worked brotha man 👊👊👊
@@ToolReviewZone you had to drop it off in person at a service center though, right? As opposed to being able to ship it
@PhillyFixed yes sir, no more drop offs. It's all shipped now

Did they provide the warning label for the battery that goes on the outside of the box?

Seems easier than the milwaukee process where you have to find a dealer
I have no idea what you mean. I shipped out 2 tools to Milwaukee, and I didn't need to find any dealer. It was just as easy as Clint showed.
so, if i buy a tool kit. do i have to register the battery separate from the tool? or all the individual toots separate?
I was hoping you would have already done the whole process and waited for them to send you one back before you posted this video. The suspense is killing me😅
Me too 🤣👊👊
@ToolReviewZone good morning, my friend.
@PFab morning brother, hope you have an awesome day pfab 👊👊👊

That's awesome

Yo Clint! Where are RIDGID batteries made? The power tools, as well, for that matter. Curious. 🤔
Everything is made overseas Dave

@meagaindave2049 yeah I hear ya brother. Getting harder and harder to find that though. At least Milwaukee is making the hand tools in the US again.
Too much work flex just sends you a new tool or battery no questions asked
😎⚒️😎⚒️😎
I just walk into Home Depot, and they swap it out.

We'll see.
Well, it all depends if you dotted all the lower case j's?
2008 feels like yesterday but it's actually a long time.
DOES THAT WORK WITH GENERATORS?
If it says lifetime warranty on the bix when you buy it, it does 👊
Chillie........not real nioche like......
I'm first and that's real nicelike 😅
