So I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Sunday, and this scene reached forth and delivered unto me an uppercut right in the feels. I cannot explain why this powerful moment previously passed me by. It’s not too difficult to understand why it tugged on the feels. This scene embodies one of the most beautiful aspects of human nature. You would be hard pressed to find a time in this extensive story where things feel more lost and hopeless. They are alone, they have no plan, and so many people are dead.. Despite this, Harry and Hermione share this small moment. A sliver of magic in a rapidly darkening world. Our ability to endure overwhelming odds and global horror, and to somehow forge a beam of light in spite of the looming shadows is testament to our courage and ingenuity as a species. Indeed, to ‘rage against the dying of the light.’ So, before you point out the fact that Harry Potter is pure fiction, I would like to mention that this is the exact point I am trying to make. These virtues I have mentioned are so powerful and moving that we have immortalised them in our art since the dawn of our history. When we arrive upon the brink, I hope we can take a moment to dance like Harry and Hermione, and if we cannot, then I fear we won’t be fighting for anything worthwhile. We are cutting it fine, but like all great fiction, if we pull it off, it will make for one hell of a story… “We're older now, the light is dim And you are only just beginning O children We have the answer to all your fears It's short, it's simple, it's crystal clear It's round about and it's somewhere here Lost amongst our winnings” “Hey, little train, wait for me I once was blind, but now I see Have you left a seat for me? I take it to be about any form of totalitarianism. "We have the answer to all your fears It's short, it's simple, it's crystal clear It's round about and it's somewhere here Lost amongst our winnings." Anyone promising the answer to everything and saying it is simple is to be mistrusted, they are more interested in the winnings and the power that comes their way. When we find that answer like old Jim does in the song we remember that every time this promise has been made, and we have given power to those who have promised us all encompassing simple solutions, we have opened the door to mass murder. Whether it is Nazi Germany, Communist Russia, China, North Korea... I take this song to be about a generation realising too late that they have set themselves on the path to this destination, looking at their children and finally understanding the future they have ushered in for them. 'We're all weeping now, weeping because there's nothing we can do to protect you' indeed. This song is a warning. You are right to cry.

I think it's hilarious when singers forget the lyrics to a song. People need to remember, these singers don't go home and play the CD 500 times on repeat like we do as rabid fans. After 10 or 20 years, it doesn't surprise me that a singer sang verse 3 before verse 2. Especially considering he was probably staring at a chick who flashed her tits at that moment. It does happen. My favorite incident with Nick is when he plays The Curse of Millhaven in concert. He has a roadie on stage with him holding poster board with the song lyrics written upon it. The song is long so it requires several boards. What makes it so awesome is Nick still forgets the lyrics. LOL! Have you left a seat for me?
Is that such a stretch of the imagination?
Hey, little train! Wait for me!
I was held in chains but now I’m free
I’m hanging in there, don’t you see
In this process of elimination
Hey, little train! We are all jumping on
The train that goes to the Kingdom
We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun
It’s beyond my wildest expectation
Hey, little train! We are all jumping on
The train that goes to the Kingdom
We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun
And the train ain’t even left the station
You dialectic?
Sounds like it was written about child trafficking and snuff films.
The love I have for Nick is so big that it hurts.
What a masterclass in song production . With passion.
reminds me of Harry Potter,
there is no better song that could fit into the World of Harry Potter,
thank you for that, dear mr. Cave!

Wow....... hard not to like fine wine....... Chateau Cave ‘n Ellis.......
Pass me that lovely little gun
My dear, my darting one
The cleaners are coming, one by one
You don't even want to let them start
They are knocking now upon your door
They measure the room, they know the score
They're mopping up the butcher's floor
Of your broken little hearts
O, children
Forgive us now for what we've done
It started out as a bit of fun
Here, take these before we run away
The keys to the gulag
O, children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice
Here comes frank and poor old jim
They're gathering round with all my friends
We're older now, the light is dim
And you are only just beginning
O, children
We have the answer to all your fears
It's short, it's simple, it's crystal clear
It's round about, it's somewhere here
Lost amongst our winnings
O, children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice
The cleaners have done their job on you
They're hip to it, man, they're in the groove
They've hosed you down, you're good as new
They're lining up to inspect you
O, children
Poor old jim's white as a ghost
He's found the answer that was lost
We're all weeping now, weeping because
There ain't nothing we can do to protect you
O, children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice
Hey little train! We are all jumping on
The train that goes to the kingdom
We're happy, ma, we're having fun
And the train ain't even left the station
Hey, little train! Wait for me!
I once was blind but now
I see have you left a seat for me?
Is that such a stretch of the imagination?
Hey, little train! Wait for me!
I was held in chains but now I'm free
I'm hanging in there, don't you see
In this process of elimination
