Interesting fact. This video version features a different unique version of Robbo's solo. The audio version of Live & Dangerous is not as cool. Though I don't know why all subsequent guitar players build their solos upon the latter.
Just lose myself in this tune cheers to you THIN LIZZY RIP Phillip, I met your mum Philomena in Derry she was on a drugs awareness event , such a presence & quality never forget it
Did you know southbound was a sound check? But it was played so well they kept it in for the Album...I agree with you though...it's a brilliant Album.🎸💕🎶
@@samandjennysambrook yeah I did know that they have released a new Live and dangerous album with all concerts on a new album, some times Thin Lizzy played 3 sold out concerts on every stadium or hall in 1976-1978 Live and dangerous world tour ✌️

Yea they are still amazing I saw them first time 1974 and last 1983 every year and even had a beer with Philip Lynnot he used to stay at that hotel I was working at the time, he was a really nice man and all guys in Thin Lizzy Was really nice guys, if you don’t know how it is to continually doing world tours and albums and all naughty stuff that comes with it and falls for it, you will get burned out, now doubt about that

I was blessed to grow up in the 70's.... and spent most of my youth going to and experiencing live music! And I caught Thin Lizzy twice!! One show was Thin Lizzy and Foghat on the same bill!😂😂 I was hitching rides to shows before I was old enough to even get my learners permit!!! Lol What a great decade in music to be alive in!! I've been hearing Jailbreak and The boys are back in town on the radio since the 70's and thought they were alright, but this has to be one of the best live tunes I've ever heard.
That is what's so crazy about lizzy is you hear Jailbreak and Boys so many times (and they are great), but once you take the plunge to listening to the rest of the songs it's some of the best music ever
These guys are the Gods of the twin lead guitars. My best lineup was that one that had Brian Robertson and Scot Gorham. But i will never forget the magic of the.much underrated Gary Moore. RIP Gary and Phil. Am still in live with the lady of.my wayward youth. Thin Lizzy is her name
Scott Gorham's spot in this song is one of the most beautiful solos I know. Scott doesn't appear in lists of "greatest guitarists" but he could play a tasty solo.
@@ruthylopez When Gary Moore rejoined the band, he said Scott's playing reminded him what it meant to play with "feel". That is some compliment! Scott's playing style is like skimming stones across a lake. A one off.
Saw Thin Lizzy lots of times in the 70s. They were up there as one of my favourite bands and this song is the best love song ever written. Growing up in the 60s and 70s with the most amazing music is something that fills my heart with joy especially when I think about the way this country has gone now. Music at its very best.
I was lucky enough to see Lizzy on many occasions in the late 70's & early 80's..i was even at the Reading Festival in 83. Still one of the best live bands I've ever seen.
When I am Down and Miserable abd Life has had Her way with Me, I retire to the studio warm up the Ole System and Put Them on🙏 There is something in the Soul of the Band that ALWAYS Lifts my Heart my Soul and (what's left of My Mind) and makes Me Smile and Carry On 💪 🏂
This song wasnt written it comes not just from Phils broken heart but his whole being From his vital centre, soul & psyche. You can hear it pour out of him Like his heart & soul were in bits & he needed to release it Its so gut wrenching! My story, im keeping short, but i felt the man in my life, decades back was my soul mate & he said he felt the same. But i had been offered the job of my dreams & for what id studied hard for, for nearly 4 yrs I was restless & needed to expand my horizons My guy was a homebody & easy going & i knew if i stayed id make him miserable, needing to seek out life etc, & i was scared id end up hating him if i stayed. Our last meeting was a dance & he asked the DJ to play this song for me, He sang it to me beside him & i was just overcome with sorrow & emotion I left after the song, & left his life. I moved abroad with my job & loved it, i sent him a few letters & cards but he wasnt a letterwriter & i knew he was brokenhearted. Cutting to the point I did have a great career, lived in 4 other countries, married, divorced, 2 daughters I somehow knew i wasnt quite whole anymore. I thought alot over the years about him but who was I to contact, hed happy, married, kids etc.? Then 8 yrs ago i returned to UK Came back up to my grass roots on the far North Eastern coast. I settled quite well, bought a nice home, felt good. An old friend saw me in our city in a cafe, we were delighted. Caught up, etc etc Nothing mentioned but loseley Agreed to maybe meet up in a pub we frequented when young. After several months, i did just that, got to the pub, felt fine Then.... this song came on the jukebox.. I froze, i felt tears come, & this great lump formed in my chest I was immediately back to all those years before. I felt crushed. You know, how you know someone is behind you? Well, it happened & i knew as sure as breath came after breath He was there. That was 6 years ago We got married not long after finding each other. There's loads of co incidences & kind of fate playing a big part But, we got there, in the end. We were both free, no burdens or responsibilities.. it was just RIGHT! So this song is very special indeed, im sure it means alot to many others too. Thank you for listening Peace🕊 From 🇬🇧👧
Attitude and incredible stage presence - Robbo had it … and the ability to improvise a very different solo from his one on Live & Dangerous (which is very close to Gary Moore’s Nightlife original). A great performance! Lizzy at its peak, live :)

Interesting fact. This video version features a different unique version of Robbo's solo. The audio version of Live & Dangerous is not as cool. Though I don't know why all subsequent guitar players build their solos upon the latter.
I was in love or at least in lust with Phil when I was 14 when I saw TL three times in one week. RIP beautiful Phil Lynott. ❤❤❤
@Jerry all good thx for asking
Just lose myself in this tune
cheers to you THIN LIZZY
RIP Phillip,
I met your mum Philomena in Derry she was on a drugs awareness event , such a presence & quality never forget it
If you heard Thin Lizzy forget U2
You are correct sir U Who
Terrible sound
Wow.♥️🤙Pops up again.Nothing by accident.Sends chills right to the heart.💜 Love is right there close to you.😇
This THIN LIZZY live and dangerous is one of the best live records ever made in my opinion and Tony Visconti did a excellent job 😊👍✌️
@@LRD113 yes I'm a Lizzy nutter even at 64rys old, saw them many times and went to the Philo statue unveiling in 2005. Got to know his mum quite well and we remained friends until she went to join him.. Lizzy were unique and I will always love them.🎧💕🎶🎸👌
Yea they are still amazing I saw them first time 1974 and last 1983 every year and even had a beer with Philip Lynnot he used to stay at that hotel I was working at the time, he was a really nice man and all guys in Thin Lizzy Was really nice guys, if you don’t know how it is to continually doing world tours and albums and all naughty stuff that comes with it and falls for it, you will get burned out, now doubt about that
@@LRD113 well,as Phil's mum told me, Love my boy,but please don't love his life. Style because it was that that took him to his grave at just 36,. Philomena was kind, charming and funny, and generous with her time..I never met Phil but met Eric Bell a few times over the years...a really nice bloke with some great stories.👌👍
i'm here for these incredible guitar solos
1 solo is one of best live solos ever .
man oh man don't I remember June 2019 (the day this video was up-loaded....)....I was in Orlando, Florida.....p.s. remember x59x.....
Classic rock, my advice to some of these young guns who think they know it all, listen to some classic Lizzy rock.
Brian Robinson one of the greatest guitar players ever
Robertson.
Lol
What a great decade in music to be alive in!! Always holds a special place in my heart.❤🎉
I've been hearing Jailbreak and The boys are back in town on the radio since the 70's and thought they were alright, but this has to be one of the best live tunes I've ever heard.
All the great music never got on the radio.
Yeah, when I first heard him I was blown away! Both his leads and his solos are so heartfelt.
Agreed. Highly underrated guitarist
He's a beautifully melodic player. No one plays like Scott.
100% agree about Gorham. He’s got taste and feel and tone. I don’t need blistering speed.
@@ruthylopez When Gary Moore rejoined the band, he said Scott's playing reminded him what it meant to play with "feel". That is some compliment! Scott's playing style is like skimming stones across a lake. A one off.
just how good is this after all these years TIMELESS
These men really did rock the 70s Phil you are still missed up to today gone far too soon RIP🎶❤️
This is without doubt the best Rock Ballad of the 70's...
Two great guitar solos and a bass line to die for all founded on a tight drum beat. Just outstanding.
Saw Thin Lizzy lots of times in the 70s. They were up there as one of my favourite bands and this song is the best love song ever written. Growing up in the 60s and 70s with the most amazing music is something that fills my heart with joy especially when I think about the way this country has gone now. Music at its very best.
Back to my younger days listening to this. The were definitely at their best here. Thanks for those days
I’m so glad I’m old enough now to have been young enough back then…..
extraordinary song. Such groups, such songs, such feelings do not exist anymore.
I was lucky enough to see Lizzy on many occasions in the late 70's & early 80's..i was even at the Reading Festival in 83. Still one of the best live bands I've ever seen.
First time I hear this song 😳🥰❤️
Thank you a lot 🙏💖🥰
Best live band, ever! How lucky am I
I’m 62 now I started to listen to them in 1970 s they still sound great to me .
This has to be the first real power ballad ever. What a moving, powerful song.
When I am Down and Miserable abd Life has had Her way with Me, I retire to the studio warm up the Ole System and Put Them on🙏 There is something in the Soul of the Band that ALWAYS Lifts my Heart my Soul and (what's left of My Mind) and makes Me Smile and Carry On 💪 🏂
I’m 68. My fav band ever. I met them and they were great to me. Phil was a genius and as always fu r & r hall of fame
We lost Phil too soon, but we have his music forever.
My favourite thin lizzy line-up of musicians………Brian Robertson so young here too!
Excruciatingly beautiful song 💔
I miss you guys so much and I know this is a good time for me with this life thank you allways for your songs I ❤them all☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️
THE absolute best version of this song! Perfection!
best version
This song wasnt written it comes not just from Phils broken heart but his whole being
From his vital centre, soul & psyche.
You can hear it pour out of him
Like his heart & soul were in bits & he needed to release it
Its so gut wrenching!
My story, im keeping short, but i felt the man in my life, decades back was my soul mate & he said he felt the same.
But i had been offered the job of my dreams & for what id studied hard for, for nearly 4 yrs
I was restless & needed to expand my horizons
My guy was a homebody & easy going & i knew if i stayed id make him miserable, needing to seek out life etc, & i was scared id end up hating him if i stayed.
Our last meeting was a dance & he asked the DJ to play this song for me,
He sang it to me beside him & i was just overcome with sorrow & emotion
I left after the song, & left his life.
I moved abroad with my job & loved it, i sent him a few letters & cards but he wasnt a letterwriter & i knew he was brokenhearted.
Cutting to the point
I did have a great career, lived in 4 other countries, married, divorced, 2 daughters
I somehow knew i wasnt quite whole anymore.
I thought alot over the years about him but who was I to contact, hed happy, married, kids etc.?
Then 8 yrs ago i returned to UK
Came back up to my grass roots on the far North Eastern coast.
I settled quite well, bought a nice home, felt good.
An old friend saw me in our city in a cafe, we were delighted.
Caught up, etc etc
Nothing mentioned but loseley
Agreed to maybe meet up in a pub we frequented when young.
After several months, i did just that, got to the pub, felt fine
Then.... this song came on the jukebox..
I froze, i felt tears come, & this great lump formed in my chest
I was immediately back to all those years before.
I felt crushed.
You know, how you know someone is behind you?
Well, it happened & i knew as sure as breath came after breath
He was there.
That was 6 years ago
We got married not long after finding each other.
There's loads of co incidences & kind of fate playing a big part
But, we got there, in the end.
We were both free, no burdens or responsibilities.. it was just RIGHT!
So this song is very special indeed, im sure it means alot to many others too.
Thank you for listening
Peace🕊
From 🇬🇧👧
❤
Wonderful love story!
Far-out. Dreams, schemes and serendipity in delayed harmony.
Toujours.
I cried with your story. It was meant to be... 🥰
Whatever ya think yourself
Attitude and incredible stage presence - Robbo had it … and the ability to improvise a very different solo from his one on Live & Dangerous (which is very close to Gary Moore’s Nightlife original). A great performance! Lizzy at its peak, live :)
This version is so much better than the audio….well to me it is
Phil and Scott....two of the coolest mofos to grace a stage....to this day
Greatest song of the 70s
Gotta say i didnt know that thin lizzy had such an underrated drummer. Dude was a beast, salute to u sir
Fantastic band all around. Robbo and Gorham, the best Lizzy lineup.
100 percent … struggle to find a better combo than them 2
Gary Moore would like a word!☘️
Brian Robertson's and Scott Gorham's guitar solos are so moving, I never tire of hearing this song...
love this song
Thin Lizzy was an awesome band. And I'm still missing Phil Lynott ...
When I was a nod in boarding school a prefect asked me to write Thin Lizzy on the black board,I wrote Tin Lizzard thank you for guiding my music appreciation 😊
Oh Phil, sheer class still after all these years 😢
Absolutely exquisite music from a multi international band founded in Ireland. God bless them.
The vinyl version in no way does this song justice.
The opening verse is incredibly moving when Phil sings it live
Best Rock Ballard ever 40 years old . And its Timeless Thin Lizzy in there prime where absolutely Magic .
This is the first time I have ever listened to this.
It's amazing! This is real music.
Don’t stop here my friend. I suggest taking a serious deep dive into Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott! You will find things that will blow your mind. Amazing talent throughout
@@OICU-go8bf thank you. I'll start now!
1978 and it feels like yesterday!
Would love to feel like I did in 1978😁
Speachless simply the best of the best!philip, scott, Downey and the rest of the best!💯👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was refreshing. Refreshing from what I've heard for the past 30 years of daily radio. Those 2 or 3 hits they always play.
This was fresh and beautiful.
On a Sunday session listing Phil land down under first nation man😢🎉r.i.p brother thank you 4 ur talent the whole band members godbless 😅😊
Music that touches your soul, is music to heal the heart
One of the greatest love songs ever written.❤️✌️💔✌️❤️💔🎶🥁🎼🎶🎸🎸🎸🥁🎤
I finally have this on DVD.
This is without a doubt their pinnacle. This song on this night...
The solo..... Fuck Me Runnin I was weeping. Am weeping..
I love Gary Moore but.... This is the finest rendition ever recorded.
I am watching it again.. And again..
