It's a beautiful song and he was a phenomenal songwriter phil Lynott and wrote some amazing lyrics when Thin Lizzy was in their prime, he sadly died very young himself January 4 1986 only 36 years of age, that's too young. I know from Personal experience that it doesn't matter what age ppl die when it is someone close to you, I lost my dad in 1991 he was 44 my mother died last year and was 75 but it makes no difference and she is only gone because the hospital made a mistake. I hope your memories of your mother is still as precious and Bright as they were when she was still by your side..💞 I still forget sometimes that my mother is gone and it is like getting the message again every time... All the best C hope u r fine.

Their will never be another musician like Phil Lynott. Fortunately he encouraged and helped to influence John Sykes in his style of music that still reflects that influence to this day.

    Lost lovers of summer
As you go your separate way
    Remember memories you owe
Won't bring back those special days

But now.. Philips voice has always been magic to me. Now I find myself listening and singing it over and over again! "They same times must change, but I'm not so sure" - yes I am! :)

“Please Don't Leave Me” by John Sykes
In the summer we'd be crazy
we'd fool around all the the time
oh how I loved that girl
    when she was mine
    But now she'd left me
    for another guy
and it realy brought me down
    for without that giri
    l was lost and found
Oh darling please don't hurt me this way
oh darling please don't leave me
oh darling please don't hurt me this way
oh darting please don't leave me
    Now I got messed up
    and I fool around
    but tbere's no fun anymore
    they say times must change
    but l'm not so sure
    Lost lovers of summer
as you go your separate way
    remember memories you owe
won't bring back tbose special days
Oh darling please don't hurt me this way
oh darling please don't leave me
oh darling please don't hurt me this way
oh darting please don't leave me
    Don't leave me
    not now
    please don't leave me
