I am a new AMEX, Cobalt and I have been watching videos on how to get around using my Cobalt at grocery stores that don’t except the AMEX, and what I have learned is, I need to purchase gift cards for certain grocery stores and other stores. My question is how are people shopping at Loblaws with Amex? I live in a small town in BC, and we have an Independent Grocer, a Shoppers Drug Mart, and a Super Valu, which don’t accept my Cobalt.
I don’t think there’s a way around it. I suggest a backup card like the Tangerine Money Back MC or the PC Financial MC in those cases.
@@arungupta9140 I have a RBC Avion and a Scotia Bank Passport Visa right now. I just dumped my BMO Ascend , after 10 yrs of having it, to get the Cobalt. Do the ones you suggested give better points?

They have gift cards as well, right? Haven’t tried it yet but I see them on rakuten
Just get groceries at Freshco, save on foods, IGA, sobeys, safeway. Some gas stations are even coded as dining and groceries. Some sell walmart giftcards
