How can music at the same time convey the beauty and divinity of the celestials, but still have that bittersweet undertone that was their death. It's somber and calming, yet it's sad. God damn I love this game.
This sounds beautiful without context. But once you learn the story of the Celestials, the Ark of Yamato, how they died and how Waka had to carry the guilt on his shoulders for 200 years, this turns into possibly the most depressing song in the whole OST
The cultural beauty of this game speaks to my soul and brings tears to my eyes and humbles my heart. This is my favorite game of all time and is enough to silence with me in awe. 10/10
I have played Okami on PS2, PS4 and the Switch. I have also played the Japanese version of Okamiden, and I can't even read Japanese, still I have completed it, and wow what an adventure! The story and music are amazing and complement each other perfectly. Never fails to make me cry at the sheer beauty of these games. To me they're now than just games, they're an experience of a life time would never have wanted to miss out on.

All the dead humans, Dragonian king, even the demons... what happened to them, I wish I knew. The Celestials' words seemed to imply they'd meet again on the Celestial Plains, but the others, I've no idea.
C'est la vie, if Ammy stayed to fight against Yomi or whomever, Orochi would've destroyed Japan/the world...changing roads will change the circumstances, not the fact itself. (the death of a race)
The only things that come in mind to me when hearing this song are: byotiful and the fact the Okami and Okamidens storys get so confusing in the late game.

man, as much as i love okami, okamiden just didnt live up to its predecessor plus, okami didnt even need a sequel in the first place, it was already as amazing as it was even then, okami has a shit ton of cultural references in it, so SO many, and itd take like forever just to know japanese mythology well and dandy
It is worth the investment! I would suggest the Wii version. I have not played the Playstation versions, but I don't imagine that you can capture the feeling of holding the paintbrush with those systems like you do with the Wii.
Download it on ps3!! Really worth it and using a control stick for the brush isnt that bad either. + it's an HD version, which normally doesn't say much, but this time its really much clearer and more beautiful!!

Personally with the context when I first experienced the story I found it a bit sad but reflective and hopeful.
