Think appearance doesn't matter? That it's what's on the inside that counts? When was the last time you walked by a homeless person and thought, gee, let me see what's on the inside?
I also set out my clothes for the week. I have a dance party on Sunday where I give myself a few minutes to put them together. I'm infinitely more put together at work because I'm not rushing to make outfit decisions in the morning.
It's extremely truth, I noticed how appearence matter a lot at work and it's so sad because some people are beautiful but don't fit the society beauty standards. There are a lot of men customers in ky workplace so of course when they see a beautiful girl employee then they go insane over it. That's why my boss as right as it is for work wanted an extremely professional look from me and once i wore a bad pant because i had not money to buy one and my parent didn't want to so i got compared like a girl dressed like a clown from my boss in front of another girl college which didn't at all wear professionally and yet the boss said nothing. A lot of times at the workplace i get compliments from male customers for looking young lady, for my face being beautiful, for having a beautiful smile bit not enough about how nice human being i am and hardworking...so looks matter a lot
We definitely need more inclusive clothing! I don't know if this will help but I am able to make casual clothes more 'put together' by layering and accessorizing - then I am not so dependent on what is 'in style' at the stores.
If you CONTINUE to dress professional after you retire it will have a different impact on your social life. I moved abroad to a tropical country...if I wear blazers and I DO in einter as a jacket everytning else is very casual, and approachable if I wore my traditional professor of psychology amd administrator attire I would look exceptionally offputting. Dress who you are NOW not who you used to be when retired of you are in a casual atmosphere.
The white tank top was cool and artsy; the synth-gold shirt and earrings are kind of tacky. Where I work, a more professional shirt might be a white blouse.
Judgement vs attraction is not the same. Visual judgement based on first appearance is nonverbal cues, hunched, rushed, slow/shallow answers, rude, hostile, sarcastic. Visual attraction based off first appearance is the subjective opinion of that nail color is too brash based on your attraction, her bust/butt is too large based off attraction not on capabilities. Her hairstyle is too short based on your attraction of females with longer hair.

My very good friend who does this always looks 💯 every time she steps out of the house. I bet you do too!
Now THIS is quality content. Very interested in this topic, thank you and I hope to hear more on the idea of self-presentation from you.
Thank you so much for your support! Going to do a few more videos soon on this theme.

Great examples. I’m in the middle of organizing my wardrobe, so this is helpful
That’s awesome!
It’s turning into a project, but I’m discovering new outfits to wear that I’ve never thought of before.
That’s the absolute most fun part, isn’t it?
I forgot I owned a few things that I spent a lot of $$$ on.
I feel more powerful in casual attire as I don't feel the pressure of the image but a freedom to be my truest self.
Freedom to be our truest selves shines through and is so important!
Hey Erin, your voice volume is kind of low. It's a good topic about dressing appropriately at work 🙂
Oh, thanks for the heads up on the volume…I didn’t realize. 🙏
Dang, looks like I can’t adjust it once I publish it :(
Hey! with headphones it sounds fine😊
One of the issues I have is finding appropriate clothes that are plus size.

💯 I couldn’t agree more! In fact, I have a video coming out early next week on exactly this…who you are RIGHT NOW. Thank you for highlighting this

It does absolutely depend where you work and cultural norms.
I didn’t find them tacky at all. To me they are totally normal modest daily wear. The thin white top was more an at home sexy look your man will like.
