Absolutely brilliant! I think I'll use this to visualize my ideal week. Instead of the whiteboard you used here, I think I'll use the one I purchased at IKEA for $8 since it is metal and has more structure. This also looks like a project for the cricut machine! ☺

Excellent video, at 70 I ask myself similar questions. I came to the conclusion that all my questions dealt with the temporal aspects of my life. Erin, thank you so much for making this video and being so vulnerable with complete internet strangers. I don’t think you realize how much your video and content can help other people going through these difficult times and challenges themselves. Having someone already gone through it, with more to lose possibly, makes the journey easier and you become less afraid by borrowing your strength. It is inspiring and makes me want to also achieve that best version of myself. Thanks to your videos, I finally have a planned departure date from the corporate world and know where I want to start over again. You provided me with that mental support and I love the fact you did a video 1+ year update and it’s still worth it for you. You are a gem to this world and thank you again.

@erin-tran yes actually ive been meaning to schedule a call but just havent had the chance to. Its to day trade. I know there is a stigma around it and I've lost a lot of money in the past doing this. Wiped all my savings at one point and i was depressed for months. But what I was doing was gambling, not actually trading. Thats why it can also be harder, previous failures program that pain in you that you could fail again and lose more at an older age where recovery is not easier.

    • @erin-tran

Great video Erin! I appreciate you taking the time to explain how you were feeling at the time, what emotions you felt, the support you had, and the financial runway. I didn’t even consider how the rest of the team at work would be impacted, I was considering it from a personal perspective. It was interesting to see that you didn’t need that much of a mindset shift around money when you decided to quit and go in a different direction. The 5-6 month time it took to leave and plan also ensured that it wasn’t just an emotional decision. What I found a bit interesting is that you didn’t stay a few more months to get that bonus or LTI for an additional 1 year runway. I would of found it hard to resist that. Severance I understand and it’s not easy or straightforward as well. Thank you for being transparent and walking through what the process was for you. These are good components for your subscribers to consider before they embark on a similar journey.

@@erin-tranPlease focus on the visuals of the video and you can also caption in the video. Don't use simple cuts , you can use J -Cut and L -cut in the video because it seems to be professional.

Hi Erin, thanks for sharing and it's a great video. I would love to see a video of how you actually walked away from the golden handcuffs. What decisions did you make, how much runway did you have, etc.

Thanks for sharing. Spending time w family is valuable. As a 48y old single Dad I prioritized my kids during their childhood. My career/roles wasn't part of my identity. I viewed it as a way to support my lifestyle and kids. If someone asked me who I am, I wouldn't even bring up my job. Raising kids is so important these days.

Thank you for sharing. You are a rare one. I think so many of us have forgotten that in the race. I love your perspective.
