- We find not one, but TWO stream crossings, and some breathtaking mountain views!
This is day two, if you missed day one start here: • I’ve Never Been So Sca...
I am joined by Austin, Jimmy, and Joe for this 2 day trek through Bald Eagle State Forest, Pine Creek Gorge, and Tioga State Forest. We named this adventure "Vistas, Squalls & Falls" because of the man jaw dropping scenic views, the snow squalls--including a complete white out that blinded us, and waterfalls as well as slip-and-falls (ouch).
This is day two of an amazing two days exploring some of the most incredible terrain you'll find in Pennsylvania.

Episode 31
#Overlanding #TiogaStateForest #PineCreekGorge
This was so exciting to watch. Especially since I live in eastern Pa. I’m familiar with pine grove and would love to ride this route with you guys. In fact my biggest problem is that I don’t really know anyone to go out with or where the good trails are. If you’re ever interested in adding a new guy I’d love to come.
Hey, thank you! I’m not sure when I’ll be back in that area, but check out my Patreon because we do group rides. I have one in VT this September and another in PA in late October! VIP members are invited on all trips
I would love to join in on one of these rides.
We do multiple Patreon rides a year now! Got one in VT coming up this September
@DirtRoadTherapy the 19 to 21 I will be in New Hampshire. Want to try green on Jericho mountain
Awesome pick with pinball wizard
Wow! Great video. I've never given much thought to PA as a place to go explore, but your videos have really altered my opinion on that.
That’s really cool to hear! It’s nothing like out west where BLM land goes on forever but there are some large areas to enjoy, and some really beautiful ones too. I hope to do a multi day trip in this area soon
If you guys went a little west you could view the elk in the Elk State Forest and Sproul State Forrest area. You are almost guaranteed to see them in the areas near Benezette. There are some viewing areas and some byways in that area, as well.
I’ve spent lots of time in those areas. Seen some elk but it’s never a guarantee
@DirtRoadTherapy I disagree. Spend more than a couple days and drive around the entire area You will find them.
Great job! More Pa videos!
Thanks, you got it! More on the way
Awesome video. I was looking to visit the area last week but decided to check out a trail in Pocono Mountains. This might be my next trip. 😊
Oh you definitely need to check this area out if you’ve never been! Be sure to stop in Thomas. I like Davis, but the town where I’m at the coffee shop is actually Thomas, the neighboring town.
Great video! I’m watching this and I realize I know the guy in the Orange JL. Austin….used to have a blue YJ years back. Small world
That’s crazy!
A snow video in July? Madness!
I’ll take some snow right about now
Awesome video! Those are definitely some wild roads in the winter, for a safety standpoint it would probably be a wise decision to have at least on toyota in the group.
thanks! LOL we basically did, we had a Ranger 😅
Dude! This is awesome!! We have a place up above Wellsboro on West Rim Road. Amazing area!!
It sure is. Would love to have a place up there
Did all or any of these rigs have diff breathers? Water looked deep
Of course, all of our rigs diff breathers run up at least as high as the intake. My front axle uses a bellows rather than a tube
Are there alot of primitive camp spots within this park? Or are they like established campgrounds?
These areas don’t really have primitive camp spots. There’s Little Pine State Park with some camping, and Happy Acres private campground closest to this, but check for sites in Tioga State Forest on Reserve America, I’m not sure if they have sites or not
Do the lunchbox lockers make the cherokee worse in the snow?
I love it in the snow, because it is 100% predictable. That does mean it will go sideways when I tromp on it, but I know the vehicle and how to recover it. I would not toss someone the keys in a snow storm and expect them to know how it handles. Now that I’ve experienced this, i can’t think of a reason I’d NOT want both wheels turning when accelerating in the snow. I do not find that it causes unwanted understeer or any dangerous characteristics.
What road was the river crossing on
I believe both were on Stony Fork Road crossing Wilson Creek
@@DirtRoadTherapy can't seem to find it any coordinates?
41.57306, -77.33516
@@DirtRoadTherapy thank you
@@DirtRoadTherapy I’ve crossed that on my drz400, but water flow was way down. Not sure I would try when it’s that high.
What part of PA is this located in?
Northern Central PA. In the last episode we started in Bald Eagle State Forest near Lewisburg and ended up in Tioga State Forest near Wellsboro
Do you need a permit to drive on these trails?
No this is all public land! Only reason you would need a permit is if you’re guiding a group of paid patrons, or if you plan to camp
Awesome thanks! I live in Danville Pa and just got a bronco I’ll have to check it out sometime. Are the trail maps online?
I use Gaia GPS and OnX Offroad. OnX is fantastic but it’s full features are subscription based. My patreons get 30% off an annual membership (about $30 off) Patreon only costs $1 a month 😎
I live in Wilson / Easton PA. Where is this at?
Near Williamsport, PA
@@DirtRoadTherapy My son went to school there at Penn Tech. He has a TDI that he is going to swap into his XJ. My other son in NC has swapped a 84 CJ7, and a 94 XJ. I haven't driven the XJ yet, but will when I go in June.
@metaldemon60 awesome! They sound like great kids ✌️
Wow. Great Vid. I take it the camera is OK? lol
Oh no it’s completely flattened. But since replaced 😂
Is this open to side by sides? Utv?
I don’t believe so
No, must be a licensed vehicle to traverse PA state forest roads
