    Great video. I've done the sections between World's End State Park and Mt. Jewett. Hope to do the eastern portion this fall on my way to doing the NEBDR. If anyone is doing the CPAA, and needs wither a place to say or mechanical help with their bike, we have a place in Canton and you are more than welcome to come by when we are in town (we alternate between there and the Chicago suburbs). We have 3 open bedrooms, floor space or lots of room to put up a tent.

      Stan, that sounds like the ride of a lifetime! Yes, you could start the CPAAT in Erie and take either the northern or southern route east, then hop some of the BDR-X, then back up to the CPAAT to Scranton. Or even throw in a couple of the CPAAT loops if you have time to spare.

    No. Go up a narrow muddy logging road with loaded timber log haulers that can't stop quick if rolling downhill.
    Up into snowline and then follow fresh bulldozer tracks up into a dark rain forest. Until fallen timber too high to
    bump over or cougar noise speeds your departure. Those are the best rides to explore with a Yamaha TW-200.

      Glad you like it! Our theme song is Happy Before We Get Old by Michael Shynes. There's a lot of his music in all the videos. We didn't keep track of all the specific songs used throughout the series, but other Michael Shynes songs used are Born Again, Like Paper Planes, Return to the Wild, The Other Side, We Left New York City, Western Town, and Xerces. We used Believe It or Not, Everywhere is Paradise, and Good to Be Alive by John Coggins. We used All I Want and Coming Over by Elad Perez. We used Land Called Fantasy, Ride With Me, For You, I Wish, and Then I Came by Ziv Moran, Looking Back by Paper Planes, and Wandering Mind by Balloonplanet. Circus Clown by Ian Post, Detour and Sitting Still by Claire Kelly, Morning Sun by Will Van de Crommert, and Somewhere Behind by Assaf Ayalon. Well, maybe we did keep track, I think that's most of them! But not necessarily in the order you hear them.

      Hi David, we used the OSMAnd app on a Samsung Galaxy S20. You can get the GPX files from the CPAAT Facebook group and load them into the app. It worked pretty well, except for a few wrong turns where it seemed to get confused; but it corrected itself before we were even out of sight of the turn we missed.

    I have been trying to do some research about this trail. Is it possible to complete 2 up? My wife and I are on a r1250GSA. I have been riding all sorts of street bikes my whole life, but only recently got into ADV riding.

    • @CrossAdventuring
      @CrossAdventuring  Рік тому

      You should have no problem riding 2-up, as long as the weather cooperates. There were some roads on the main route that felt a bit like ice, once the clay in them became rain-slicked. Otherwise, it'll be a pretty leisurely ride for you. We do recommend 50/50 tires, in case you encounter a muddy section.

    • @CrossAdventuring

      All GPS units that work off satellites will work without cell signal, as long as you have the maps themselves downloaded ahead of time. We use the OSMAnd app on our phones and it does pretty well. The only times we've lost GPS signal is in heavy tree cover, but it's always brief. When weather becomes a concern, that's when we like to have cell signal so we can watch the radar for storms. But that's all part of the fun, getting out there and experiencing a few unknown risks, right? :)

    • @CrossAdventuring
      @CrossAdventuring  Рік тому +1

      That's why you should stay off the paved roads! But really, if you want highway-capable and that's more important than trail-capable, the TW is not a good choice. I (Mike) also have a Vstrom for when my riding is more road-biased. But you don't have to compromise that much, just go with a CRF, KLX, DRZ, or one of the smaller KTMs and you'll have a great off-road bike with more power for the highway.

    So do you feel pretty steady and safe on the tw

    • @CrossAdventuring
      @CrossAdventuring  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for joining us, @jonny6758! Yes, the TWs are so perfect for the marginal conditions we encounter out on dirt, gravel, and mud. They are among the shortest dual sport bikes made, so if we feel it starting to slide under us, it's pretty easy to catch it before anything bad happens. That doesn't always work as planned, of course, and occasionally we do go down. Gear with protective padding helps when there's a hard landing. But with anything in life that's exciting, there's a certain level of risk, and you have to decide if that risk is within your own personal level of comfort.
