    Great work with the route. I found the GPX on Reddit but you should post it here too. The easier it is to find stuff like this the better.
    A couple friends and I are headed to the Monongahela Nat'l Forest this spring. We have a less ambitious plan of forest roads 235, 233, 227 and 92. With all the spurs nearby I think this will give us enough to explore over three days. Nothing like getting outside.
    We did Meadow/Flagpole knob in the Washington and Jefferson Nat'l Forest last year though we came up 225 and 85 and then headed south to the end of 64 then back north on 61 to 85 then 227. Then we hopped on US-33 headed east and turned north to pick up trail 72 - Long Run Road. We camped off of the Dictum Ridge Trail.
    There is so much to explore in this area of VA and WV.

    • @SpartanOverland

      Any info on these trails?

    • @Fix_It_Again_Tony
      @Fix_It_Again_Tony 3 роки тому +1

      @@panagiotisf7228 If you are looking for good camping spots we found numerous spots in the Monongahela Forest off of forest roads 92 (spur trails to the east, sites are along Shavers Fork) and forest roads 227 (Mower Basin, 38.57180, -79.92750) and 233 ((38.55080, -79.93932), (38.53453, -79.95676) near Snyder Knob).
      In the Washington/Jefferson forest trails 225 and 85A at Meadow knob off some more challenging driving. You can also access the Flagpole Knob trail off of US 33 west of Harrisonburg (38.57879, -79.13676). You can take this south (FR 85), pass into WV and come back north on WV 61. There are lots of trails to explore in the area and there are also dispersed campsites. The Dictum Ridge and South Mountain trails are shown as FR 422, 426 and 502. There are many trials to the north to explore.

    • @SpartanOverland
      @SpartanOverland  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching! May should be good! There are some pros and cons for different seasons. Winter months you'll have better mountain top views since the trees are all bare, but spring/summer months will overall look better since it will be lush and green. As far as water crossing, thats unpredictable. You'll just have to be aware of current weather and decide in that moment of you feel good about it or not.
