Yes. Going from the deck to the Legion Go it was night and day. 7 inches is unworkable, but 8.8 is sometimes even too big if it's too close to your face. 8 inches is perfect for a true handheld.

Want to see the performances between allyx, ai8 and the ayaneo hx370. Under the same battery consumption. Not the tdp displayed. AMD and Intel has a totally different logics to measure a chip tdp, so it's more fair to compare the battery consumption. Also if possible, test the results with turbo boost on and off. Because most of the games these hand held can handle, will be GPU limited. Turbo boost off may have a little benefit to the result.
IF they want this to be successful, they must: 1) Make sure drivers and any associated software runs flawlessly and any issues are patched with updates IMMEDIATELY. This is crucial. A bad first impression will turn away any potential buyers. 2) Make official accessories. This shows they support their hardware and want to make an ecosystem. A bad-ass case, dock, and even maybe USB adapters depending on port locations. 3) ACTUALLY have the performance to back up the device. If it's anything like the last claw, it's going to bomb. Intel really half-assed the last one and stepped into the game half-steppin'. But in all fairness, I'm waiting for the SD 2. Valve doesn't disappoint.
I think the issue with the OG Claw was that it was basically an Ally with an Intel chip instead. MSI really didn’t do much to set it apart from the Ally. Now they’re promoting these new ones as AI handhelds which might be the dumbest naming scheme ever. In all honesty, why would anyone buy a $900 gaming handheld for CoPilot and other AI task?😂

@ MSI doesn’t work with them because Intel is responsible for making them work. The whole reason why there’s been so much of an improvement is because of the launch of Intel Arc GPUs. They use the same drivers on both so if they want to succeed in the gaming scene they need to make sure drivers work on both their Arc GPUs and their iGPUs. This isn’t on MSI nor do they have much of any say in the making of the drivers. This isn’t like AMD and the Z1E drivers

Bruh, most docking stations have that, bought a cheap hdim adapter from aliexpress for $5, it has HDMI, USB-C for the charger and a USB-A for any accessories. Works fine on the steam deck. Newer monitors with USB-C ports often support charging your device through the same cable.
for Egpu I have the MSI CLAW ultra Core 5 with an egpu (th3p4g3) with an RTX 3060ti with a 2m TB4 cable. I play either on a PC monitor or a laptop in 1080p ultra settings 60=>120 fps+. MSI 8 AI have now 2 TB4 ports. With the MSI CLAW, I have to have an egpu that charges the battery at the same time. With 2 ports it's better!
@@HNedelLOL Your comment shows how clueless you are. Using one port and splitting it into multiple ports will cut down the data speed, because it will distribute the connection. Moreover, you can't just buy a random $5 dock. You have to know the cable speed support, is it only USB 2/3/4 or Thunderbolt support.

Great videos, thanks for your work :) for me at 17 watts the comparison is incorrect but in favor of asus, for 2 reasons the first being that lunar lake has the ram directly soldered to the processors so the ram is included in the tdp of 17w, it consumes 2w more nothing for the ram, while the z1 extreme actually consumes 19w with the ram because the 2w of the ram are not taken into account in the tdp of 17w so lunar lake should be tested at 19 watts to be equal tdp level, then the 8 ai+ is in 1200×1920p and not in 1080×1920p which reduces performance by 5 to 10%, I hope you will take all this into account during your tests if you want to do a real test perfectly objective and honest. I hope we will be pleasantly surprised by Intel but it seems promising for the moment, but that's my opinion... have a good day everyone 😊

Specs looking really good. Lunar lake is very good when it comes to power efficiency, but that is still only a situation when drivers are playing nice with your game. They had a bit of space on the face, why didn't they include some trackpads too? Would have really taken this device up a notch!

That is awesome, I really wanted the first claw but this might be it. Seems that msi has partnership with ubisoft since majority of the games they benchmarked is from ubisoft 😂. But in your tests it be cool to see Dragon's Dogma 2, Helldivers 2, Starfield and Star Wars Outlaw. Those are games I'm playing now on my ally x and runs ok at low graphic settings at 720p. The first claw really struggled with alot of newer games so hopefully this is it!

Intel’s battlemage igpu will probably be the best for handhelds or pads, but the higher you go I think raw actual stuff will always be better cuz latency matters there
I really can’t do LCD screens. From monitors to televisions to handheld gaming devices, it’s OLED exclusively if I have any say in the matter. I understand the price would be high… but I’d pay for it.
The ally 730M has better graphics than the Claw by a substantial amount nearly 40%, the larger screen size is nice, the hall effect joysticks are better of course, and the additional 8GB of RAM is another point to the Claw. However the cpu and the gpu are still significantly better in the Ally X and the smaller screen could lead to longer battery life considering they have the same size batteries, but with the higher performance of the GPU and CPU it may equal out (just based on an educated guess lol) One other point is the Wi-Fi chip set the Ally having the slightly older Wi-Fi 6e and the Claw having Wi-Fi 7 which could lead to higher throughput and allows the use of multiple bands at the same time but the only time that would really matter is during moving of large amounts of data, and a reduction in latency but honestly it's probably not going to be noticeable to the majority especially during game play unless you live in a very crowded area like a multi-story apartment complex wher interference would be an issue. Basically I would say it comes down to price and preference what fits the individual budget and circumstances. If you want a bigger screen or better performance, longer battery life or faster internet speeds and lower latency. My two pennies 🤷♂️

Horizon 2 might be the most graphic intensive game to test the handheld performance
I wish we have a d-pad as good as dualsense controller. It's the best dpad for fighting games.

STALKER 2 benchmark please. Even the first scenes can look rough on Ally in the water areas.
Hope the next handheld PC got the Ultra 9. And I hope that Ally 2 got the HX AMD series or Z2 with the HX AMD performance

For 900 USD I would say just get a cheap gaming laptop, a nice controller for your phone, moonlight/sunshine and call it a day.

here we go again. the guy with the for cheaper just get a laptop plus you can get a 7090 graphics card at a discount plus hyper premium heat chamber for a lower price, plus bigger tb memory up 300tb of space all for 900😂

@@draco2xx 70090 doesn't exist yet, not sure what you meant by "heat chamber", memory is different than storage (I guess that's what you meant) and believe it or not there's some gaming laptops with 4060 gpus that outperform any integrated graphics card at less than 900 usd
